Backstory:
Born to a loving family in Hokkaido, Mino & Ritsu Mitsuyo were two lovely little twins, their parents’ pride and joys who both showed interest and even impressive skill in art starting at the ages of five. Even from a young age Ristu’s art was very dark, and while it impressed other kids it also scared them a little which gave her the reputation of being the weird kid. This resulted in her not having any friends, and not developing social skills. The only person that she ever regularly interacted with was her sibling Mino which caused her to grow very attached to him, and they were the only person that she didn't have any trouble interacting with.
Once the twins turned eighteen, Mino was still struggling to keep himself focused on the real world, and their parents had finally had enough of it. They begged Ritsu to take Mino to Karakura for the rest of their senior year and college, because it hurt to have little to no connection with one of their beloved kids, and they couldn't handle having them in the house anymore. But as soon as they left their city, Mino began getting...better? During the trip, they really tried to engage with Ritsu, showing her their sketchbook and being open about the things he sees and feels day-to-day. Karakura was a very positive change for both of the twins, and while Ritsu was still very shy and anxious she felt a little more comfortable and was cautiously willing to try to interact with some of the students.
