Describe your activity on the server:
My activity ranges a ton given classes, and my moods. However to give a basis I am on for about 2-6 hours every day (sometimes longer), especially on weekends. Ah… well lately I've been getting on like 5 pm - 6 pm until 10 pm or midnight, but I also do take breaks through the day so it's hard to give a strong concrete estimation. I can do a basic breakdown of my activity:

Monday-Friday:
Usually I am 100% on by 5pm and will play til about 9 pm - 10 pm or even longer, it comes down to if I am busy or have plans, but I can usually drop things and show up if needed. However, there are a few times I won’t be on until like 6-7pm because of exams and homework. Oh! That reminds me, on Fridays I am usually online well past midnight hah.

Weekends!:
The amount of time I am online on the weekends does vary quite often. I tend to sometimes be busy and others times not be, so I think a safe estimate is about 6-8 total hours over those two days if I have plans or busy,

What is your timezone?:
My time zone is EST

Cat (S0LIC)

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:

What experiences do I have with roleplay? Well, I have been roleplaying for years, I don’t have an exact estimate though. I started roleplaying years ago, it was just small things on random minecraft servers and such nothing very crazy. I also helped out in a very tiny project as one of the roleplayers in it, sadly the project never really took off. That is my background of role playing before I came to SRP.

I joined SRP about.. I believe it was close to three years ago but not quite there yet and played actively. I don’t have very much experience in any of the factions though. They always interested me but I was always too nervous to actually apply for any. Luckily those nerves have relaxed, the most experience I have throughout SRP’s factions is limited. I have a character on the High School Female Basketball team, and became the co-cap so I do have some experience in the sports faction. Although, that is all, the most experience I have with the other factions like EMS, KPD, and the school faction is limited to going to the hospital for injuries my characters would get. Then with KPD, my characters were arrested. Then the school factions… well everyone has an experience of that just by going to the classes and the school. So, really just no experience with being IN the factions, just learning how they process/work from my visits.

Due to my nerves of trying to apply for factions, I turned my focus towards first learning the most popular roleplay in SRP… Gangrp. I got introduced to gangrp during my first week on the server. It’s a funny story, I was a greenie and didn't really know much and some guy tried mugging my character and my friend. The guy taught me combat rp, he taught me the roll system and such, I knocked his character out and then mugged 5k, then a few days later my character's leg got cut off. That was how I got introduced to gangrp, though I didn’t really partake in it at the time. Instead I focused on just having fun and roleplaying, i did a lot of romance rp, emotional rp, and so on. I learned as I went and soon enough roleplaying in SRP was so natural to me. I eventually did join gang rp through a friend trying to convince me to and eventually I gave in. I started to learn how crime rp and gang rp worked, and I also learned what to look out for. This got me much further into the community of SRP, I formed some nice bonds and had fun.

What is your motivation for applying?

For as long as I have been part of SRP, I’ve always wanted to engage even further with the community. I had a lot of interest in joining a faction, because to me, it is an opportunity, an opportunity to be more part of the community, and to improve my roleplay experience within the server. The only reason I never applied for a faction until now was because I was way too nervous and had little to no confidence in my ability to make an app, especially due to overthinking the questions. Although a good friend of mine talked with me and helped me overcome the nerve and do this, and another friend who is part of the hospital faction also helped strengthen me. During my first week of SRP, I didn’t know what I was doing, and then my character lost his leg, this led to my first experience with the hospital faction. I was extremely confused on how everything worked, and the doctor who was taking care of my character decided to start talking me through how SRP worked, giving me tips and advice. I was also thoroughly impressed with the amount of detail that went into their actions. My characters had to go the hospital often and I always loved reading the details and seeing how the members of the faction functioned. I have always had an interest in medical fields, and at one point I was nominated and part of a medical alumni type of thing, it lasted for few days, we were given a test at the end to test our knowledge and if you passed with I believe an 80-100% you received a certificate, I passed. I also have experience with bandaging wounds and sewing up wounds, though my experience was more revolved around dogs because I had two dogs who constantly got into fights and would get torn up. Although, I do have some experience in doing that for humans as well.
To summarize, my motivation for joining is because I want to engage more with the SRP community and gain experience in a faction. Further increasing my roleplay knowledge and making my experience even better. While also putting the knowledge I have gained to the test, even if it is just for a roleplay server.

Which role are you applying for?
(Doctor or Psychiatrist)
I am applying to be a Doctor!

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
(This is to gauge at your current understanding of the faction prior to acceptance)

I’d like to think I actually have a pretty moderate understanding of the roles within the Hospital Faction! First let’s get the basics out of the way.

Doctor:
Everyone knows what a doctor is and what they do, do I really need to explain? The short of it is, doctors are medical professionals who handle many things, more specifically physical things. Doctors treat wounds, diagnose illnesses, write prescriptions and what not, they perform surgeries given they have the training, and based on SRP this is true for them. While in the real world, surgeons do like surgeries and stuff but they also count as doctors in my eyes!

Psychiatrist:
Psychiatrists are more focused on the mental health and emotional aspect of things. Psychiatrists are responsible for diagnosing mental and physical ailments, mental ailments include things such as bipolar disorder, and the physical ailments well.. It’s physical, not much to say regarding it. They can also handle more of the prescription type style of things. You can buy multivitamins, and such from the hospital and they are the ones you talk to. Psychiatrists do quite a lot, sure they are more separate from serious medical work. They can do things like therapy, such as physical therapy, or just therapy in general. It could be couples therapy, group therapy, play therapy, and so on!

Veterinarians:
I feel like this is way too self explanatory, they handle animals. Not sure if I need to go in detail for that, they are the doctors of animals!

Paramedics:
Paramedics, they are the doctors on scene in a sense. Paramedics are doctors who specialize in emergency medical procedures, they have the qualifications of a doctor and can perform emergency surgeries. You know those vans with the flashing lights and read Ambulance? Yeah Paramedics get to drive those! Though I am not sure if Karakura has that so they just carry the injured person to the hospital.

Now that those basics are out of the way, here’s a little more I know!

So, first off there is an order, you go from Doctor trainee -> doctor resident -> senior doctor resident -> Attending doctor. Then after attending doctor the next positions are for higher ups, these positions are called Clinical supervisor, clinical lead, hospital director, in that order. The Hospital Director is the Faction lead and the clinical ones are higher ups. But what do these roles do? I’ll tell you what I know.

Starting with the newbies, doctor trainees. Doctor trainees are like the name suggests, they are new doctors being trained, this position lasts for two weeks after you have been accepted. You are not allowed to leave the hospital, or do any procedures you DO NOT know on your own. Training is 2 hours a day, and you are required to show up. Moving on! Next up is your Doctor residents. Doctor resident is what you become after you have passed training. Doctor residents know all the procedures by now, and are fully capable of performing medical procedures. Next is Senior Doctor Resident, they have worked at the hospital for a decent while, and have a solid understanding of everything, basically same as Doctor Resident, just a little more authority. Also, they get to take on the trainees when the time for applications begins. Oh! Can’t forget, Senior Doctor Residents are allowed to become paramedics or at least apply for them (given a space is open)! Next up is attending doctor, attending doctor is pretty much just a senior doctor resident, but that is as much as I know for that role. Then you have your Clinical Supervisor, basically the same thing, can do any procedure, the difference is they get a little office, can punish people and hand out strikes, and of course they have higher authority. Then, Clinical lead, second highest authority, really cut and dry, same things, however they oversee their division and help with the hiring process. Finally, the Hospital Director, I believe the title is quite obvious… The Hospital Director oversees hiring, all branches of the hospital, and is also the liaison with KPD. They are the highest level of authority and get final call on punishments.

This is just the basis of what I know, I would love to learn even more about these roles.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?

I 100% acknowledge that if a training is held whilst I am online I am expected to show up or I will be punished.

Character Backstory (Optional):
Shoji Isemura Komaeda had nothing but a poor life that started off good. He was born in a small quiet coastal town in Japan, one of those kinds of towns where everyone knew everyone. Shoji’s mother was a respected doctor and was admired for her dedication to her patients and the community. Shoji’s father was once a respected banker, in the town, the family seemed stable and successful at the time. However, when Shoji was four years old, his family had started collapsing under mounting financial pressures which drove his father into a life of alcoholism. It started off as social drinking but soon enough it spiraled into a strong addiction, the kind of addiction that transformed their once happy home into an unstable environment filled with fears and tension. Over the years things continued to worsen at an alarming rate, making their home a kind of battleground of emotional abuse and violence. When Shoji was just a seven year old boy, his entire life changed instantly.. During a rage-fueled, and drunken outburst, his father ended up murdering Shoji’s mother in front of him. Witnessing this horror shattered Shoji’s childish innocence instantly, etching the scene deep in his memory and igniting a fear and distrust of emotional connections. Even though Shoji’s mother was gone, he clung to her memory as best he could, leading to her memory being a sort of guiding light for him. He began to feel an overwhelming and desperate desire to make her proud despite the unfortunate situation, he had no idea how he would do this though. In the years that followed, he and his father had moved to Karakura, but the cycle of abuse continued, and there looked to be no end in sight, this caused his feelings of anger and despair to grow. By the time Shoji was 11 years of age, his father passed away under… mysterious circumstances that left many wondering, and whispering about the truth. A tragic accident? Or something more? This incident brought him a chilling sense of relief but it also caused him to lock himself away emotionally, hardening his heart into stone. Shoji had become a complete emotional recluse, shutting himself off from the world, though he started to develop an interest for medicine. He developed this interest from wanting to honor his mother’s legacy as a doctor. As he entered highschool, he excelled academically, particularly in his science courses, where his curiosities about the human body and the intricacies of life flourished. He found himself taken by general surgery, anesthesiology, and forensic pathology, all driven by his hope to save others and rectify the darkness that had engulfed his own life, as well as honor his mother. However, his solo studying and such for these topics was tricky for him until he was 15.
When he was 15 years old, his life took a huge turn when he met Mei, a spirited girl studying abroad in the medical field. Their paths had crossed during a summer program for aspiring young medical practitioners. Initially, Shoji was completely guard and indifferent, his heart encased in ice from the years of trauma and distrust. Their relationship developed slowly as Mei’s warmth and compassion was working hard to chip away his emotional barriers. She approached him with patiences, never forcing a connection, and would not turn away despite how rude he was or how much he shoved her away. Her efforts weren’t wasted as Shoji gradually began to open up to her, sharing fragments of his past and aspirations. Their bond grew over time through shared experiences in the program and late-night conversations about their dreams and fears. Mei’s presence fueled his passion for medicine and she gently coaxed him out of his shell. However, the bittersweet of this relationship became apparent, when the day came for Mei to return to her country. The impending separation had once again ignited the fears he had locked away. When she had left, he felt an overwhelming sense of loss wash over him and it caused him to retreat back into the shadows that had once cloaked him for years. Closing himself off completely once again, he became close to nothing but an emotionless shell, devoid of any and all warmth and connection. The light Mei had brought into his life began to flicker and dim, leaving him grappling with his thoughts and fears alone. Although his interest in medicine persisted, even though it had become an escape for him, a solitary pursuit if you will, overshadowed by a profound sense of isolation. The bond he had formed with Mei reinforced his belief that connections were nothing but fleeting and painful.
As he navigated the challenges of his studies, Shoji became determined to channel his sorrow into his work, driven by a renewed commitment to honor his mother’s memory and legacy, as well as forever keep Mei in his mind. Overtime he got better, so much better, he kept working at his goal and new found love for general surgery, anesthesiology, and forensic pathology. He continued excelling in his studies, got accepted to an amazing university across seas, graduated, and then he returned to Karakura, the origin of his interest in medical fields. Where, he met someone really special, she brought him back, the way Mei had in the past but just further, and this one was here to stay. He became more social, happy, and even more determined to continue his studies and keep up his practices. This landed him in a prestigious university where he took a Doctor of Medicine Degree and then after he completed his undergraduate degree he took on the challenges of a Master’s Degree and successfully graduated and continued his ventures to become a respected doctor much like his mother.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY

What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

Shoji’s medical specialties are general surgery, anesthesiology, and forensics pathology. He chose to focus on these specialties to honor his mother’s legacy as the respected doctor she was and to find purpose after his past. General surgery had allowed him to directly impact patients’ lives, and it reflected his admiration of his mother's skills. He focused on anesthesiology because it ensured safety and comfort during procedures, echoing his desire for control in a process he felt he had lost. Finally, he focused on forensics pathology because it related to understanding life and death, a theme that haunts him constantly. This specialization allowed him to investigate the circumstances around deaths, seeking justice and truth for those who could no longer speak for themselves. It also allowed him to explore the darker aspects of mortality while also ensuring that he contributes meaningfully to society. Simplified, he chose to focus on these three specialties because they offered him a way to confront his pain while striving to make a positive impact on the world, fulfilling the legacy of his mother and channeling all his sorrows into a passion for helping others.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?

Shoji has in fact accumulated a significant amount of work experience in medical positions throughout his academic journey. During Shoji’s time in medical school, he completed several clinical internships at different hospitals throughout Japan, where he worked alongside experienced surgeons and anesthesiologists. This provided him with hands-on experience in patient’s care and assisting in a variety of surgical procedures. Part of his training involved his participation in clinical rotations which exposed him to different specialities, allowing him to engage deeply with patients and refine his clinical skills. On top of that, Shoji also served as a research assistant at his university’s lab that focused on anesthesiology, contributing to ongoing studies on pain management and further enhancing his ****ytical abilities. He also would actively volunteer in health outreach programs, providing basic medical assistance and health education in underserved communities, which not only strengthened his medical knowledge but also reinforced his commitment to compassionate care and saving others. Thanks to these experiences he had gained a solid foundation in medicine and prepared himself for the challenges of his future medical career, a doctor like his mother.

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Shoji is a 184-centimeter-tall Japanese male with broad shoulders and a toned physique. He is about 180 pounds of lean muscle. His hair is brown, thick and slightly tousled framing a face that seemed to hold many unspoken secrets. His eyes were deep hazelnut color, his gaze had a stone-cold look to them, unlike the warm feel brown eyes tended to have. His right arm was a sleeve tattoo, it looked to be of a large tree, a cherry blossom, but it only had a few leaves/flowers. It reached up his arm to his chest, with a moon being between some of the branches. There are a few roses spread throughout the tattoo, and then a skull at his wrist. Shoji’s uniqueness is due to a combination of emotional complexities, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the medical field, all shaped by his past. His experiences have instilled in him a strong understanding of how fragile lives can be. His exposure to both the darkness of human experience and his desire to heal sets him apart from many others in the medical field. Also, unlike many of his peers, who may display more empathy and emotion, Shoji’s emotions are locked away, which makes him appear emotionally distant yet remarkably focused. His emotional barrier actually helps him, by allowing him to maintain a calm and composed demeanor in any high-pressure situation. However, Shoji’s most distinctive trait that sets him apart from all the rest is his ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. While others may falter, he remains focused, relying on his excellent observational skills and ****ytical mindset to navigate challenging scenarios. Others' perceptions of Shoji may vary widely. Some might see Shoji as a very dedicated and competent medical professional, notable for his calm and composed demeanor, especially in high-pressure situations. However, many may perceive him as aloof, misunderstanding his reserved nature as unfriendliness and a lack of interest in forming connections. Due to his reluctance to engage deeply with people can lead to assumptions that he is unfriendly and disconnected, while in reality, he is just struggling to lose the barrier he has built up.
screenshot-1746042232198.png

How does your character act around the hospital?

Around the hospital Shoji acts with a blend of professionalism, calmness, and quiet determination shaped by his past. He is dedicated to the medical field and eager to honor the legacy his mother had, causing him to approach his responsibilities with a strong work ethic and a focus on patient care. He is able to maintain a calm and composed demeanor even in high pressure situations, which enables him to make informed decisions and deliver effective care. Shoji is extremely respectful towards all of his colleagues especially those of a higher rank, valuing their experiences, and authority in the medical hierarchy. While he does demonstrate professionalism in his interactions with patients and their families, his emotional reclusiveness often leads to reserved yet sincere approach. Shoji is highly focused on his work, often immersing himself in responsibilities and viewing every task as an opportunity to enhance his medical knowledge and exhibits a keen sense of observation that aids in diagnosing and treating patients. However, he struggles to build close relationships with colleagues due to his emotional barrier, as he prefers to keep conversations professional and keep personal matters at bay. He has a strong sense of duty and commitment, often finding comfort in the routine of medical duties.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?

Shoji primarily functions best on his own due to his emotional reclusiveness and past, which have taught him to rely on himself and be self sufficient. He is highly focused on his responsibilities and excels in individual tasks, often relying on his observational and ****ytical skills to navigate a complex situation. However, he is highly capable of working extremely well with others when necessary, particularly in medical settings where collaboration is essential. In these kinds of instances, he absorbs knowledge and insight from his colleagues without fully engaging in the emotional connections that typically come with teamwork. While he does prefer solitude, he recognizes the value of collaboration in achieving positive outcomes and is willing to set aside his reservations when the situation demands it.

DENIED
Firstly, thank you for applying to the Hospital Faction, and we appreciate your interest. However, after discussing your application with the higher-ups, we have unfortunately decided to deny your application this time around.

This decision was made based upon the following reasons:

- When choosing applicants for the Hospital faction, we tend to look for individuals with a decent reputation on the server. You can try to apply to other factions or community teams, or interact more around the server, to boost this!

Nonetheless, we encourage you to keep an eye on the Karakura Emergency #announcements channel for future application waves, and to re-apply at a later date if you're still interested.

This decision was made as a collective among a group of individuals. rather than a single individual. Any DMs to members of the faction and/or higher-ups will be ignored and referred to this response.
