If I am needed for anything or if any officers are in need of assistance with a situation, you can ping me in the KPD channels or even just DM me to get on if I'm not already online! I'm usually online within 12:30AM GMT+8 - 9-10AM GMT+8, whether on my character Saeran or my Maiden account D0MINEER.
Regarding trainings, I should be available for most if not all sessions, I will always be available to VC as well, but depending on the time I may need to either mute or just be as quiet as I can, however it should not hinder anything.

§ || MOTIVATION TO APPLY || §

Thanks to the support of not only YonioTheNacho, but a few of my friends, I've grown to have an interest in the KPD, from the roleplay itself as an officer within the Karakuran Police Department, to the intricacies of how the KPD functions as a whole. Originally, I was far more interested in applying for EMS (I adore you Alex I swear..), though through both OOCLY and ICLY persuasion, I ended up somewhat preferring the idea of joining KPD over becoming an EMS worker.

OOCLY | The systems within the KPD that have been mentioned to me and through discussing it with current KPD workers, I've found it quite interesting just how many different things there is to do within the faction as well as allowing as your characters to grow more through lore and adaptability much like more lore-based factions such as the Shrine Faction. The possibilities of new experiences I could encounter whilst being an officer was quite tempting for a while to the point I've even further involved myself with the KPD even if I'm not within the faction (RPing with KPD characters, going through studies of law icly and developing my character to grow an interest in the faction, etc.), so after discussing it with friends, I've finally decided to make an application this wave.

ICLY | Originally, my character Saeran was devoted to the path he wished to choose as a surgeon, often studying before and after school, in the library between classes and whenever he has the free time to learn first-aid. His dedication toward joining the medical field was unwavering at first and he without a doubt believed he would become a surgeon much like his mother previously was. However it was through meeting LT. Ernesto Martinez that Saeran's dedication began to finally waver, finding interest in the faction after seeing the man's work within the KPD and Martinez's.. Not so subtle "hinting" toward wanting to see Saeran within the KPD for his intelligence and keen decision-making and practical skill, Saeran began to consider the possibility of joining the KPD, however kept the EMS as his priority.. Until through outward sources and a deep conversation within himself that he'd decided to join the KPD. Thus, leading to his training in not only self defense but offense within the shrine dojo, though also getting into law studies as well as criminal psychology.

§ || KNOWLEDGE OF POLICEWORK || §

All information stated below will be Karakura exclusive. Meaning everything provided is what is practiced in the Karakuran Police Department, as well as the current ranks within the KPD.

- RANKS WITHIN THE KPD -

RANK	THEIR ROLE	ADDITIONAL
COMMISSIONER (SASHA VASYLENKO)	Within each city, there is a Police Commissioner, for Karakura, the current Police Commissioner is Sasha Vasylenko, the previous being Ernesto Martinez. The Police Commissioner serves the role of being the executive chief of the Police Department, being in charge of not only the Department as a whole but handling government-assigned tasks and properly assigning the proper officers to handle each situation. - The Police Commissioner will typically set the standards for the lower ranked officers, assigning them appropriate tasks, providing them with payroll and handling their ranks much like promotions, however Commissioners are also in charge of maintaining cooperation and stable management. - They are also in charge of keeping a solid moral vision within the department, encouraging a safe workspace within the department and training cadets and higher ranks to be independent whilst also being aware of the cooperation needed within groups of assigned officers during either training or real situations. - Much like as stated previously, the commissioners not only provide support in training, but overlook training, picking out flaws that could be worked on whilst also praising good behavior and keen skill. During trainings and Exams, the Commissioner will take notes on an officer's strengths and weaknesses and strategize on how to properly train. - Regarding high risk assignments and incidents, the Commissioner is not only to assign the proper officers to handle these crisis's, but in some cases will attend themselves as extra support and firm direction. In RIOT gear, the Commissioner will be seen as a priority by the other officers, protecting the Commissioner at all costs whilst keeping anonymity - The Commissioner takes on the main face of the department, often being the one to handle media and the government, the one to make speeches and to do official declarations on behalf of the department. So it is up to the current Commissioner to appease and push forth their morals within the force for their unit (City) to see. There are of course many other duties the Commissioner must uphold, however these are the most notable. As the Commissioner of their unit (City of Karakura), it is their duty to uphold the standards of the Police force.	Note: Only Staff members / Faction leads can obtain the role of Police Commissioner. - If an officer wishes to do anything regarding the department with permission, they must contact the Commissioner for permission.
DETECTIVE CHIEF INSPECTOR (ERNESTO MARTINEZ)	One of the Highest ranks within the KPD, currently taken up by DCI; Ernesto Martinez. The Detective Chief Inspector takes on the leadership role of the Detective division of the KPD, assigning Detectives to private investigations, training officers and of course taking on the primary Detective role. DCI's mainly hander higher-profile cases, such as investigations on government officials. - A DCI's main duty is to handle any Detective related situations, whether it be assignments, training or even assigning the role of a detective through meetings with the Commissioner. Anything regarding the Detective-Work within Karakura is to be brought up to the DCI so he can properly assign either himself or his officers to handle each case. - The DCI, although not required, is encouraged to attend most interrogations behind the safety of the one-sided glass window. Not only to onlook the interrogation itself to take notes of not only the criminal's tone and body-language, but also to overlook the detective interrogating the subject. - DCI's are to keep a safe hold of all documents regarding cases handled, whether they are old or new. Everything must all be documented and stored safely from the public for safety and confidentiality. However, if they are to assign an officer to an ongoing case, the DCI should be able to provide all relevant information and documents to the detective assigned. - Alongside the Commissioner and Lieutenant, the DCI are trusted to attend the KPD's public speeches or general Government statements alongside the other Higherups of their Department. Typically, DCI's are only to speak out in regards to investigative-based topics, most often about gangs within Karakura. - The DCI makes crucial decisions on whether to proceed with arrests, charges, and court proceedings or not. They provide recommendations to senior officers and legal authorities based on the investigation's progress. Detectives themselves cannot do this and must request the DCI to do so. - In court, the DCI may be required to provide the court with evidence, give their testimony, and support the prosecution in criminal cases. They ensure that the evidence is presented with utmost clarity, and that the investigation's integrity is upheld.	Note: DCI is the secondary-Highest role within the KPD (Alongside LT. There can only be at most TWO DCI's at a time, however for now there is only Ernesto Martinez taking up this role. - Detectives and officers must contact the DCI in regards to anything involved with Investigations. It is up to the DCI to decide how each situation should be handled.
LIEUTENANT (KURE KASEYA / SYLVIENE CASTELLANOS)	Taking on the Primary leadership role alongside the DCI, the Lieutenants Kure Kaseya and Sylviene Castellanos have been entrusted by the Commissioner as overseers and communicators between the many ranks. As Lieutenants, they are not only the primary trainers and instructors during more physical and situational-based trainings, but are the primary communication between lower and higher ranks, providing not only reliability to the High-Ranking officials, but providing a strong advisor to the officers below them in the ranks. - In regards to status, LT''s are one-to-one with detectives, being the primary leads in their individual departments. The DCI being investigative whereas the LT handles more hands-on situations, such as setting up house-raids, assigning officers to appear in RIOT gear to situations, training the officers in the main division and providing assistance to more hands-on assignments. - Alongside DCI's, LTs are to attend public statements and speeches alongside the Commissioner, however will take up more of the speaking role in comparison to the DCI as LT's handle the main division of officers. - They may be involved in organizing and overseeing training programs, ensuring that officers are up-to-date with new procedures, technologies, and legal requirements. LT's are typically the ones planning out the procedures of training, whether it be courses, situations or even handling gear such as tranquilizers and stun blasters (tasers).
SERGEANT	Sergeants are the lowest of the High-Ranking officials, taking on the secondary leadership of general officers. Supervising them and providing a helping hand to the officers. Sergeants take on the authoritive day-to-day role, overviewing primarily the Patrol officers and Cadets on their work. - Sergeants are to overview the low-ranking officers and take notes on not only their performance and work effort, but their general behaviors to then report to the LT's or the DCI's. - Alongside Lieutenants, they will supervise over the Corporals, Patrol officers and Cadets during trainings and exams, offering support in both physical and providing information and strategies. Sergeants may also provide physical evaluations and direct lower ranking officers to work on certain issues in order to improve. - They manage resources such as equipment and supplies, ensuring that their team has the necessary tools to perform their policework accordingly. This includes items like stun blasters, Tranquilizer guns, Riot shields, etc.
DETECTIVE	Detectives, selected through the occasional opening by willing applicants, will attend trainings in order to properly prepare them for inspections and investigations. Detectives no matter the rank must keep full confidentiality with their clients to other officers within the force for not only their safety, but to proceed smoothly (It may be discussed OOCly, but cannot be provided ICly). Detectives are apart of their own specific division, meaning that rather than having the Lieutenant as their superior Higherup, instead the priority will be placed upon the DCI/DSI, however they are still to listen to LT guidance if needed.
CORPORAL	Just a rank above Patrol officers, you could consider Corporals to be the most trusted low-ranked officers. It's from this rank that officers are able to provide support as "seniors" to their Kouhai (lower ranking / Juniors). Corporals typically help the new Cadets and most Patrol Officers with making official reports and can guide them along the right path outside of training. - Once you become a Corporal, you have the chance to apply to become a Sergeant or a detective when either departments open up slots.
PATROL OFFICER	Having passed their exams, Patrol officers are now trusted with handling situations either with other Patrol officers or on some occasions on their own. Of course they will still require some guidance on certain issues, however they can now also be trusted to properly attend house Raids or handle situations requiring RIOT gear. These officers may also request Off-Duty time.
CADET	Fresh officers within the Karakura Police department, newly accepted into the faction and in need of proper training and to attend exams in order to progress to the higher ranks. Cadets will be assigned to one of the many higherups in order to be trained, whether it be Sasha (not very likely), Ernesto, Kure, Syl, etc. And will receive guidance from their Corporals. These cadets will go through 1-2 months (possibly less) of training, whether it be physicals, attributes or situational in the provided areas, getting the cadets prepared for the real situations.

- DAY TO DAY TASKS -

TASK	DESCRIPTION	ADDITIONAL
DESK DUTY	The most simple of the tasks to do throughout the day, Desk duty goes perfectly by what it is called. Officers may sit at the front desks of the KPD with their PCs and await for citizens to visit the KPD. Their main duty is to help these citizens with whatever they need from the officer whether it be asking for the bail of a friend or family member, requesting visitation time, or perhaps asking for their own personal record. These are three of the few reasons as to why citizens typically visit the KPD, and it's up to the officer to handle these enquiries.
PATROLS	Along with 1-2 other officers, you and the other officer(s) may make a patrol log within the KPD discord and will set off on one of the few patrol routes within Karakura with each other. During these patrols, the KPD will look out for suspicious behavior, handle situations they come by or make reports on anything they find suspicious. Before going on patrol, officers may look through the security cameras to see if there is anything notable to go see in person such as suspicious behavior or to make sure there aren't any dangerous individuals standing around in areas where they can harm civilians.
TAKING REPORTS	Sometimes, someone will either come to the front desk, someone will call 110 or you will find someone out on a patrol that would like to make a report. If you are a Patrol officer or higher, you may make an official report of your own, however if you are a cadet, you'll need a supervisor to help you do so. Depending on the incident, the report could be from just a dangerous individual or the location of a gang, to as far as needing an investigational detective. And it is up to your higherup to properly assign the right people to handle it, if not yourself if you are properly handled.
DETAINING / ARRESTING	In regards to taking reports, there also runs the risk of needing to find an individual to detain or perhaps even arrest depending on the severity of the report. Alongside another officer or perhaps in some cases on your own, you could take the report and detain or arrest the person in the report before then logging it with their mugshot. This may also happen on patrols or even just outside of the KPD, where you come across a criminal committing some level of a crime. It is up to you as an officer to handle the situation as safely as you can and detain them or perhaps even arrest them as efficiently as you can.
BAILING / TAXPAYING	Something a visitor may come up to you for is for bailing a friend or family (or perhaps just their other character). Once they have given you the person's IGN and RPNAME in looc, you can properly guide them through the Bailing process, naming the bail price or in some cases letting them know if the bail may need some more time. Once you have received the bail money, you will need to /taxpay (amount). Same goes for other factions such as the pharmacy in the EMS, or the giftshop in the shrine faction.
VISITATIONS	On some occasions, you may be approached to do a visitation. Whether it be friends or family, they will approach you wishing to have fifteen minutes of visitation time with someone currently jailed. However, if they are a Felon, they cannot be visited unless by immediate family. It is up to you not only to monitor the visitation, but to prevent the criminal or visitor from passing perms, disclosing personal information or anything that could be seen as suspicious. It's a longer task, but luckily one that isn't as common as something like bailing or detaining.

KPD RADIO	A radio with shared communication within both the KPD and EMS. The Radios are not only waterproof but cannot be taken/stolen. The radios are used only for communicating between the KPD and EMS, so it is wise not to misuse this tool.	WARNING RADIOS CAN BE BROKEN USING SHARP AND BLUNT WEAPONS.
BODY CAMERA	When on duty, officers will have their body cameras strapped to the chest of their uniforms. They are primarily used to record footage during patrols, situations with citizens and criminals, recording visitations, etc. Bodycam footage can be viewed at the end of each use, either through screenshot evidence or even better, Replay-Mod.
PEPPER SPRAY	A tool used by both the KPD AND EMS for defense against those who prove to be a danger, using pepper spray against someone may temporarily blind them, however the blindness will only last 1-2 minutes at a time with a three-use limit. The range of the Pepper spray reaches 5 blocks, however will take no effect on people with gas masks.	WARNING By law, you are required to warn the threat three times before spraying.
LUMINOL SPRAY	During a search, Luminol spray is to be sprayed on all weapons and masks. If sprayed onto a bloody weapon, any blood residue will appear as a fluorescent blue.	WARNING DO NOT USE A BLACKLIGHT AFTER USING LUMINOL SPRAY, IT'LL ONLY MAKE IT HARDER TO SEE THE BLOOD.
FIRST-AID KIT	A First-Aid kit supplied by the EMS. With First-Aid training, officers can apply first-aid to injured people, or can add extra time onto the bleed-out counter of an assault victim.
STUN BLASTER	One of the most used tools within the KPD used to temporarily immobilize. Once shot, the stun blaster will hook onto the targeted individual with two hooks imbedded deep into the skin, releasing bolts of electricity to stiffen the individual's muscles and joints. This stun will last 2-4 minutes unless if the officer uses /unstun (IGN)	"TASER TASER TASER"
POLICE BATON	The main "weapon" used by police officers for close-combat. Batons can not only be used against individuals, but can also be used to break glass, door-knobs and plastic masks. In order to effectively use this weapon against an individual, you can either wind them by aiming for the stomach, however it is far more effective to attack the head twice for a K.O
TRANQUILIZER	Used for Long-Ranged immobilization, Tranquilizers work like sleeping darts and can instantly knock the hit individual unconscious for four minutes or until the tranquilizer has been removed by an officer. Only trained officials can utilize these weapons.
CROWBAR	Used during raids, only Higher-Ranking officials (Corporals, Sergeants, Lieutenants, etc.) may use these to open doors and search through locked chests. (A staff member must be present during the use of the crowbar to allow access to the appropriate doors/chests).
RIOT SHIELD	With steel lining and bullet-proof glass (layered with thick clear plastic between), a RIOT Shield is primarily used for defense against attackers, not only protecting them from blunt and sharp weapons, but can be used to push against individuals or even crowds. They are your best line of defense.
GAS MASK	Gas masks are used alongside RIOT gear or to conceal an officer's identity whenever needed. They can protect the officer from dangerous fumes such as toxic gases, or perhaps even pepper spray. However, unlike ballistic masks, they can be stolen by individuals.
POLICE BADGE / GOVERNMENT ID	Working much like a government ID, a police badge/ID will display your rank within the KPD, your full government name and any additional information that is required to ensure your identity. The Badge itself will usually be stored either on your uniform or Aside the government ID.

§ || KPD'S IMPORTANCE TO KARAKURA || §

No matter what country, nor city, no matter the people, there is always going to be a Police department in order to keep the unit/ Jurisdiction safe. For instance, Karakura has the Karakura Police department to provide the citizens with not only a reliable law-enforcement team, but to provide emergency services to those in need. Whether there's violence, gang activity, petty crime, etc. The KPD can handle it like no others can.
The KPD and EMS are one of the sole foundations of Karakura, being the leads alongside the Government in building the City's foundations in regards to creating a stable government and livability through their individual uses. Whether it be the KPD's protection of justice, the EMS's protection of health and the Government's leadership. However, without the KPD, neither the EMS nor the Government faction would be able to remain stable in not only protection but in support, as the police force offers protection not only to the citizens but these officials as well.

SRP DESCRIPTION

A beautiful Korean man with a cold, sharp sapphire gaze. Saeran Radiated with elegance and beauty, his sharper features resembling much of a fox, decorated with painted red streaks along his
eyeline and cheeks, much like Kitsune markings. His leaner, more athletic body stood at a solid 6'3ft tall and his skin was painted in a mural of glorious tattoos.. Something about him was so
ominous yet so enticing..

Everything about this man is so clear yet so unreadable. His expression blank, as if he were a stationary machine, Listless and cold with those radiant icy blue eyes. Saeran's gaze was sharp and foxlike, yet dazing deep into them would only lead those who linger long enough to feel a sense of loss and solitude within his own mind. Saeran was well built, but quite thin, a striking figure with toned lean muscle and pale, almost icy skin.
A curtain of radiant raven-black hair d****d over the man's shoulders in a high-ponytail, a thin braid subtly visible within the long strands of thin, silky hair, a subtly lighter streak caressing the man's features in contrast.
Saeran's eyes and face were painted in a luxurious scarlet shade, depicting the marks similar to that of a Kitsune's features, lining his thick lashes, his high cheekbones and upon his forehead like a crown of tails like you would see on a traditional fox mask. However, the man were covered completely from the neck-down, only to show skin around his wrists and ankles. A very conservatively dressed man, as respectful as his personality.

- | HOW DOES MY CHARACTER ACT IN CASUAL/PROFESSIONAL SETTINGS | -

To him, there is no true difference between casual and professional settings. As a man of the Han family, professionalism and respect is what he has been raised to pursue. Saeran much like the rest in his family is the pinnacle of a respect and a true example of high-standards. From his appearance, to his personality, his work ethic and of course, his behavior towards others. However, this quality of professional behavior perhaps stems from his innate struggle to expression strong emotion.

- | OUTLOOK ON CO-WORKERS AND TEAMWORK | -

Despite Saeran's issues with expression strong emotion, his dedication to the protection over his fellow co-workers is clear, no matter how little he wishes for it to be seen. No matter the workspace, Saeran's main priority is the safety and support of his Co-Workers, primarily taking over the leadership role in groups, or the support. Han is fully aware of how little he can truly do as a singular unit as he is only human, so to be surrounded by those he can rely on whilst also providing his own reliability is his most respectable feat. Not only through leadership, but through his cooperation shows not only his loyalty toward his place of work, but his dedication.

CHAPTER ONE | HELLO, KARAKURA.

Warmth of the sun’s rays on a cold winter’s day, the glistening embrace tearing through the sheer frost that surrounds the young Han’s room as well as himself as a being. The air was still and stagnant as if there were no airflow, the only scent within being that of the prayer candles propped up atop the small house-shrine situated below his very own portrait.

“Awaken, my child.”

That sweet voice, a gentle whisper caressing his very soul, a voice of which felt familiar, sounded familiar. The previous Lady Han. Within moments, he awoke. Saeran Han awoke within his bed, pushing the blankets off of himself to allow the frosty chill of the air surrounding them to encapsulate his body from the inside out, however he seemed unresponsive to the chill. Those piercing, icy eyes gaze up toward the figure looming over the plush futon, spotting her.

“Very good. Today is the day you must say goodbye.”

“Good.. bye..?” Han’s raspy voice spoke quietly, mimicking the woman’s words in the desire for confirmation.. Why would he have to say goodbye? Where was he going?

The taller figure reached down her pale hand, outreaching those beautiful claws outward toward the young man in which he took a hold of, grasping the thin, delicate fingers with his own. Finally, Saeran’s mind fully awoke, fully realizing the woman before him as his beloved Kazoku Sun-He Han. The previous Lady Han and his beloved grandmother. Although a listless expression remained, Saeran’s gaze softened, finding comfort in the older woman’s presence.

“Your mother wishes for you, my little Tengu no Ha..” Sun-He’s voice was not only as sweet as the candle’s scent within, but her snow-white appearance radiated the room with an almost angelic presence. A true pinnacle of beauty that even the younger Han were infatuated with to the point even her ominous requests seemed almost affectionate toward him. Saeran truly saw no wrong with her further words.

“As of today, you will no longer live with us.. This is not your home.. You will be given something new..”

Such terrifying words in such a sweet tone, Saeran saw no wrong with it.. Mindlessly nodding in trust of his beloved grandmother. Disregarding the true fact that the bed he once rested within, he would never rest in again. At least until his unplanned return. With Sun-He’s hand held within his own, the snowy beauty guided the man along, giving no time for him to truly register the emptiness of his room, devoid of clothing or essential needs, all instead packed into a collection of high-end suitcases propped against the wall.

Thus, began a new chapter within his life.

The two took a step outside his room and within that moment, a strong gust of snowy, wintery winds thrust throughout the estate’s corridors. A gust so strong as to nearly shove against the young man, instead rushing throughout his thick Yukata. Though again despite the intensity of the sheer cold that surrounded the two, Saeran showed no response. His joints grew numb, each touch against his fingers becoming intensely painful yet he felt none of the sheer freeze. Instead, he merely gripped his grandmother’s hand tighter, allowing her to guide him along the darkened wooden floorboards. Each step he took was agonizing to his joints, slowing down each and every one of his functions overtime until they stepped inside to the central building.

However, it was merely Saeran who stepped within. Pulling the sliding paper door open, Saeran stepped into the room, allowing his feet to step atop of the heated tatami with a gentle sigh of relief escaping, though the cold embrace of his grandmother’s hand escaped him. The younger man turned back to face the albino beauty, gazing deep into her sweet gems with due caution.. Something was wrong..

“May you find those willing to protect you within Karakura, my dear..” The older Han spoke in a bittersweet tone once again, pulling close the paper door, shielding him from the comforting view of his beloved grandmother and her impeccable blend to the wintery backdrop of the Estate’s snowy gardens. Within those very seconds, Saeran’s eyes widened in confusion, finally finding himself processing his grandmother’s words..

“. . . Karakura..?”

In that moment, Saeran’s heart began to race, finally collecting each and every word his grandmother spoke, tearing his body around to face the interior of the estate’s main manor, only to be greeted by a very small maiden, a maiden adorned with not only silky black hair reaching down to her wrists, but adorned with the most beautiful violet eyes that twinkle under the lantern’s light. No words were spoken, however the maiden did take a hold of the young Han’s hand, embracing his cold skin with the warmth of her own, providing him with a sweet, reassuring gaze before guiding him along.. To her.

The walk was quite lengthy, exploring the traditional Japanese style manner within, only to then stop within inches of her door. The nameplate ‘LADY HAN | DOMINEER’ implemented atop the sliding door’s frame.. A strangely intense aura radiated from within, inviting him to come within..

The maiden with the violet eyes hesitated for a moment, though eventually knocked at the door gently, pulling it open soon after and allowed Saeran to step within.

"Lady Han."

The man stood resolute at the slightly open door. Inside, the air was stagnant and ice-cold, filled with the overpowering scent of Manjushage that overwhelmed his senses, suffocating the pale figure. His piercing, icy gaze penetrated the dense atmosphere, unaffected by the pain in his lungs.

"You know what to do." - ". . . Retrieve.."

A sharpened breath for air escaped the man from within, however the pain from such toxins spread throughout his system, his very nerves engulfing in severe pain deepening more and more as he stood.. The pain, the torture he endured within.. Tears began to flow, however he remained strong, speaking in a weakened, airy rasp..

"Give me a name.. and a face.."

. . .

"Tokugawa Takeo Ichigo."

Lady Han's gaze sliced through the very fabric of the toxin's being as well as Saeran.. The moment her sharpened pupils hit the younger Han's.. Everything went cold.. Breathing became irrelevant, his body and soul devoid of any impulse to function. Saeran was numb, unable to feel or even attempt to do so. His tears, once flowing, now seemed non-existent.

"Hunt."

No other word was spoken.. The moment Saeran's gaze captured the blade Lady Han had a hold of, everything went blank.. He will not fail her.

The next he awoke, Saeran groaned and winced in pain, his airways strained and his heart pulsating.. Awakening to the interior of.. A hospital?

Welcome to Karakura, Saeran Kokushibo-Han.

CHAPTER 2 | THE HUNT.

It wasn’t far too long before Saeran left the hospital, unsure of his surroundings nor where he even was in the first place, merely the fact that the name ‘Karakura’ encapsulated his mind. However, once he’d gotten a good look at his surroundings, the young man’s eyes would widen in shock, his breath shortening in not only from the fear of being alone, but from the fact that his surroundings were so very new to him.. The man once in South Korea was now surrounded in buildings, posters and people all using the Japanese language.. Of course he knew a simple-level of Japanese, but being surrounded was so frightening to him.

Shuffling throughout the pockets of his Yukata, Han grasped an envelope. Quite a heavy one at that and tore it open.

Within; A new phone of the most recent model, an address, and a sum of 550k yen within a new debit card issued under his name. Luckily, the address displayed within the envelope was quite close, in fact being as close as Apartment block K’s fourth floor. And opening up the case of the phone after feeling some rattling within, Saeran also took a hold of some keys.. He knew what to do. Rushing toward the apartment block, Saeran quickly found his newly rented room, finding within a fully furnished apartment with all the needed necessities for a stable life. A kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and dining area.. The only issue was how painfully small the room was in comparison to his beloved bedroom, the one he so very missed.. However, it was not time to wither away from the pain of losing his home, Saeran had been sent here for something.. Now what exactly was he sent here for again..?

To find a man by the name of Tokugawa Takeo Ichigo.

The first thing Saeran had done was not to find Ichigo immediately but to unpack his things within his apartment. This stay was only temporary right? Of course it was! There’s no way the Han family could expect him to leave his life at home and just live somewhere else, so may as well make the best of it whilst he is able to live on his own. At least until he finds the man his mother ordered him to find..

Suddenly, Han’s phone buzzed. A message appearing upon the screen.

[!] This is your target. Find him and report back to The Lady Han.

Something about this face felt so familiar to the young Han. The man’s features, his general expression and the very aura he gave off was so painfully familiar in a way that Saeran couldn’t figure it out entirely. Though something he could figure out was his goal.

Find the man and bring him to The Lady Han.

Saeran gazed deep into the image sent, inspecting each and every one of the man’s features from the most minute features to the most obvious imperfections. Nothing about Tokugawa was left from Saeran’s piercing gaze. He had his target. However, another buzz. A notification popped up which he opened to once again look at the messenger. A document? At first, Saeran remained cautious, doing a quick checkup of the file’s validity before then opening it up.

“DEAR KOKUSHIBO-HAN. SAERAN.

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE ENROLLMENT TO KARAKURA PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL-COLLEGE. YOUR SCHEDULE WILL BE MAILED TO YOU AS WELL AS YOUR BASIC NEEDS AND UNIFORM!”

Although there was more to this document, Han knew of everything he needed to. A flicker of Saeran’s gaze locked on to some closed packages propped up against the shoe-shelf within his apartment with the Karakura Academy logo posted atop of it, confirming his suspicions. However rather than contempt, Saeran felt.. Quite the opposite.

“I’m being sent.. TO A PUBLIC SCHOOL?!”

Stood in shock, Saeran quickly glanced back to the acceptance document, then back to the packages.. Suddenly an intense boiling feeling radiated from the man.. A heat far warmer than the comforting grace of yesterday’s sun.. Instead, Saeran was enraged, throwing his new phone to the couch in that fit of rage.. All of this raw emotion released into the heavy slams of Saeran’s fist against the concrete of his walls, echoing throughout the apartment.

The feeling was so new, the anger, confusion and anxieties all being toppled over by merely the acceptance to attend a public school.. All of these emotions brought out an intense wave of adrenaline with the man he had never felt before. The betrayal of having his home stripped from him without a word, the feeling of loneliness and detachment from his own family for the sake of finding some strange man and last of all being forced to attend a public school without his consent.. It was all too much.

For hours on end, Saeran went around the apartment, spiraling more and more from the paranoia-induced panic attack of these factors affecting the life he previously knew, tormenting them into something he couldn’t predict. What about his sister? What about his studies at home? What about even becoming a surgeon much like his mother and attending the most prestigious university that South Korea had to offer in medical science?
The tears shed that night were pained, his heart torn to shreds, however as night drew, he grew tired. Saeran had let out more energy within that day than he ever had previously within his life. From a life of isolation to the terrifying expectation to be constantly not only surrounded by other people, but being vulnerable to those wishing to take down the Han name, even if it began with him.

For the following days, the silence within Saeran’s room as he gazed longingly into the snowy park across from his apartment, his mind numb and his motives static. The young man found himself nearly unable to function beside the basic needs for his health such as eating and personal hygiene. Slumped against that same wall as the cold of his room slowly crept in more and more to his senses. For the first time, Han felt the cold surrounding him. The moment those once senseless fingertips felt the cold, there was a click, then a shatter.

He had finally broken out of his shell.

There was truly no point in slowly withering away as he was, there was no point in slowly awaiting the day he’d be brought back home when he couldn’t fulfill his mother’s wishes. Saeran’s perseverance and sense of loyalty had crumbled so far to the point he was no longer himself, to the point that the cold surrounding him tore down that wall of senselessness. With a hand grasped to his heart, the man stood, however trembled in hunger. The days he lived on whatever he had stored up had pretty much come to mere crumbs, what kind of Han child would wither away from starvation?
Saeran’s first goal that day.. Find some food. So after some relative research, the young man ventured out in a thick coat and fully-covering wear, he found his way toward the local 11/7 for groceries and some food to snack on. However, what he found that day would forever change the course of his life.

The delicate breeze of Karakura’s snowy winter caressed the sharper features of Saeran’s face, the cold chill rushing throughout his system the moment his gaze hit something.. Someone.. The deep raven black hair, the subtly tan skin and sharper features.. His clearly aged yet ragged aura.. Stood there at the entrance of the 7/11 grasping the steaming mug of coffee, Tokugawa Ichigo.

Target spotted.

Saeran’s gaze lingered, his throat dry in anticipation. The man he was sent to find stood eye-to-eye with himself with the young Han unprepared. Suddenly, the overwhelming weight of anxiety tore at the man’s very being, the lump within his throat choking him, tearing his soul down. His target was there.. The man he was sent to find.. Someone he had never seen before yet.. Something else weighed on the man’s anxieties. Why was the man so familiar? What was it about Tokugawa that was so familiar to Saeran..?

“Hello?”

From those very words, their conversation was a blur. At first, Saeran awkwardly spoke to the man, asking if he had seen him before, to which Tokugawa mentioned Saeran’s own familiarity. In which then the two exchanged contacts. However, at some point, Saeran mentioned Tokugawa’s identity within the Han as well as introducing himself as well as his own last name that solidified Ichigo’s suspicions. This was the son of Soo-Yunn Kokushibo-Han.. The one that'd gotten away.

Months followed with the two growing an impeccable bond as a found family, Ichigo seeing Saeran as if he were his son and Saeran referring to Ichigo reluctantly as his father. However with each instance he referred to Tokugawa as his father, a bittersweet taste filled his senses as if he were betraying his own father back at home. Despite this, they continued to hold this bond, Ichigo discussing his past in vague detail. And once the two had grown closer as family, that sense of familiarity became so painfully clear.

It wasn’t too long before the similarities were truly suspected. Through many instances of questioning and Saeran’s own internal doubts of the identity of his own father, the creeping feeling of illegitimacy lingered throughout his mind. How was he so alike with Tokugawa, however next-to-nothing with the man he trusted as a father figure his entire life? Were they perhaps connected far more than just a father figure and his ex-partner’s son? Unfortunately, there was far too much going on in terms of family drama and Saeran’s own internal issues to truly make sure, the possibly being put off for the months to come.

However, this included some not-so-lawful guidance from the older man. The issue with Tokugawa although a good father figure was his clear experience in the world of gangs and crime, displaying to his found son, Saeran some concerning traits, such as influencing the man to not only despise the KPD, but to make connections with the criminals within Karakura. Yet something felt so very off with Saeran the longer he stayed with that mentality. Despite Ichigo’s teachings, Saeran never became confrontational nor violent. He hadn’t fallen down the horrific pit of crime as far deep as Tokugawa had. Instead opting to casually knowing off criminals rather than outwardly involving himself in crime.. That was.. Until Hanjo Tonia.

To this day, Saeran’s biggest regret was meeting Tonia, yet at the same time he is grateful to have experienced it all. His first true relationship, to the first gang he coincided with peacefully. Hanjo Tonia was not only a venomous snake holding the inexperienced man’s throat by her fangs, but the one pulling the strings alongside Tokugawa, guiding Saeran down a painfully negative path. Something that Saeran could never truly find himself coming to peace with. However, in due time, the day came where Tokugawa Ichigo and Han Saeran finally decided to confirm their bond. A strange sense of denial filled Saeran’s heart whereas Tokugawa was keen, certain that Saeran was his own rather than Jun’s child. . . And this suspicion was indeed proven that night after a DNA test within Karakura’s Emergency Hospital. And ever since then, the realization had been slowly eating away at Saeran’s being, sending him down yet another rabbit hole of self identity issues.

Months after months passed and with each month, Saeran slowly fell deeper and deeper into his state of emotional loss and self-identity issues, not only being influenced to go against his own morals by his recently discovered biological father, but also growing resentful of his “Beloved Tonia”. Not only was his partner being so constantly arrested for the KPD for not only gang affiliation but gang violence, but he had to pay every.. Single.. Bail. The once filthy Rich Han was being run dry of money by the money hungry snake not only for her bails but for gifts. Yet nothing was ever enough and that resentment built up against her went so far to the point that Saeran decided to continue his studies from within the Han estate back in Korea using the rest of his funds to attend a private medical college. Only then was he actually invited back to the Han estate by his grandfather Kokushibo Tsumugi under the reasoning of his studies.

CHAPTER 3 | DEEP THOUGHTS, A MIND’S RENEWAL.

Warmth of the sun’s rays on a cold winter’s day, the glistening embrace tearing through the sheer frost that surrounds the young Han’s room as well as himself as a being. The air was still and stagnant as if there were no airflow, the only scent within being that of the prayer candles propped up atop the small house-shrine situated below his very own portrait.

But this has all happened before hasn’t it? The sense of familiarity, yet something was wrong. So painfully wrong. The once comforting feeling of awakening within his own bed felt so fake, so undeserved.

Why was he at home when his one job was to find his target and report back to his mother about him? Why could Saeran be at home snug in such a comforting space whilst his found family was in Karakura? His father, his friends and even.. Tonia I guess. What gives Saeran a reason to be blissfully at home being pampered when he could just at least try to fix the issues he had in Karakura rather than hiding from them?

For days on end, Han thought to himself, even speaking to his beloved grandfather for his wise opinions, a man of not only age but many experiences. And through Kokushibo’s guidance, Saeran once again said goodbye to his home, deciding to take his studies back to Karakura and pursue his dream to become a surgeon much like his mother within the confines of those cursed mountains rather than retreating. However, there were things he needed to handle.

A deep sigh escaped the man’s lips the moment his plane landed on the island, his hesitance apparent, however Han strived either way.

Months passed, relationships foiled and more and more did the man break down. It was only through the support of Ichigo that Saeran would continue to work within Karakura out of sheer loyalty and dedication toward the man. That was.. Until she arrived within Karakura.

[!] **A notification appeared!**

A warm summer's day, Saeran awoke, his eyes flickered open, a deep breath exhaling from deep within his soul. The piercing sun's rays flash through the curtains held primarily shut, causing the man to flinch in response and awaken abruptly soon after.. His head pounding as well as his heart, something felt off, painfully off. The thick musk that had once filled his lungs in the estate was felt once more within his room..

She's here..

Why is she here..?

Terrified reluctance filled his room, however he collected his phone from the charging station rested atop the tatami to his side, answering the phone..

Mother is Home.

Ever since that day, everything has been a blur. At first it seemed like a strange dream that his family was slowly drifting more and more to Karakura, with each month, a new Han appeared. From sisters to cousins, even to his mother and uncle. All leaving their homes of luxury within the estate for what reason..? Why would they leave a home of luxury and power within the estate to somewhere dangerous as high targets? All of this is just so confusing.. What are they planning and how are they planning to do it..?

Unfortunately with life going on and the family developing, so did Saeran. Through day to day, he could notice Tokugawa slowly growing distant from him and instead a new figure that entered his life. Although at first, Saeran was reluctant, given the man that had entered not only his life, but Lady Han's life.. Was an officer. A man that went against everything he was taught by Tokugawa, but not only that, he was the man that Tokugawa hated most..

Ernesto Martinez.

There's no telling how Tokugawa truly felt seeing the woman he once had a relationship with decades ago fall for the one man he strictly kept his son's morals from, but for his son to grow attached to him as well.. At first, the guilt lingered on Saeran, feeling the intense guilt of betrayal rushing throughout his very soul, his very being.. However, through Martinez's guidance Saeran gradually came further and further toward the light, detaching from those horrific morals influenced by Tokugawa, the guilt of not only "betraying" him, but the guilt of going against morals as a whole washed away.

The discomfort of being around criminals, of being around horrible influences no matter if he knew or not rinsed clean of his mind and soul the longer he spent alongside his family and alongside Ernesto, however it seemed Martinez noticed something. Saeran's keen intelligence. It hadn't taken long for the man to discover Han's impeccable resourcefulness and knowledge in the law, and through checking his amazing grades, a decision was made.

He wanted the young Han to become an officer.

Months passed and their bond grew, it grew strong. Ernesto's guidance toward Han's career shifting toward the KPD ever-so-strong until Saeran eventually lost that strive to become an EMS worker and instead, now strived to become an officer like his new father. A father he could be proud of and one he strived to live up to. With the Martinez name adopted into his identity, Saeran proudly stood as a Han-Martinez, future Cadet of the Karakuran Police Department.

Through strict training, disciplinary and physical, through during private courses and of course the guidance and care of his beloved father Ernesto Martinez, Months passed, years even where he grew not only as a capable combatant, but as a man himself.

"I dread the day that I witness this, hopefully it'll never happen.." A leg crossed over the other as the man spoke "There's cameras posted all over the department and the question says an inmate so that suggests that the location was within the cells. My top priority in that situation? Protect and de-escalate."

First action is to call for another officer, any that are available either over radio or through yelling. Until they arrive, he'll sling his arms beneath the joints of the officer's shoulders just below their armpits and lock upwards to immobilize their shoulders to pull them away from the inmate. Once he's been pulled away, Saeran will force the officer up against the wall or exposed to the other officer to either Tranquilize or to tase the officer and once the officer is downed or immobilized, he will immediately check up on the inmate and bring them to the hospital for further examination whilst the other officer brings the unconscious officer to a protected room. It is best to not let the aggressing officer know of the inmates location after the assault.
However, if Saeran is instead alone, his best bet is to hold the taser down to the center of his body pointed outward and hook his arm around the officer's neck, holding them in place and pressing the taser to the officer's back as to ensure direct attachment and full voltage during the stun, once the officer's muscles have been jolted and they have been immobilized, best action is to cuff the officer's arms behind his back, contact EMS and any other possible officer that's either too far to have initially helped to ensure that the officer stays within the station while he takes the inmate to the hospital for an examination and treatment.

"Unfortunately, this is a lot more common than it should be, however its merely a given considering the job as a law enforcer." Han would sigh in disappointment before resting his cheek atop the knuckles of his enclosed fists. "Lets see.. Think of it like this-" He'd continue to then explain his method as he had the last question.

First of all, the best line of defense is a line of officers. If there are any other officers, he'd call them for backup over the Radio. Once done so, Han would immediately unsheathe his taser and hook his arm around the assailants neck, pressing the taser to their back and firing off the taser, much like he would an officer. However, in certain situations, there are better solutions. Such as if they are surrounded in water and risk the dangers of electricity and water, Saeran will instead hook at the assailant's neck with the nook of his elbow and tear them away from the other officer. However if they resist, he would firmly kick at their ankles or take ahold of the wrist or weapon if they are using any. His number one priority is to first get the attacker off of the officer, not to immediately grab the weapon. once the attacker is off of the officer, Saeran will proceed to apprehend him, holding him neck-down to the ground with his arm behind his back so any assisting officers may cuff the attacker.

". . . It's hard to believe that anyone would truly be corrupt- But in reality, my beliefs aren't always a reality. Of course there's corruption, there'll be corruption in any place we go because we're all human.." A deep sigh released from the man, however he continued on with his explanation.

Corruption is a difficult topic, especially for the KPD. There have been many High-Ranking officials lost to corruption, their impact lasting forevermore on Karakura's politics and standards. However, if Han were to see corruption personally, there would be nothing else he really could do besides to treat it as it is. With whatever proof he has, Saeran will call a meeting with his trusted higherups, explaining everything to them including sending them emails/text messages with a detailed description on the corruption he has noticed from the officer. With the other officers, he'll warn them to be wary of them until the higherups can actually do anything and from there will do exactly as the higherups demand him to do after having given them this information.
On the other hand, if he witnesses this himself, it'll be an easy catch. Saeran will permanently have his bodycam rolling and the moment he sees anything, the man will evaluate the situation before acting accordingly. If the officer is harming a criminal out of malicious intent, Saeran will apprehend them. However, if it's a bribe, Saeran will immediately save the footage and send it privately to the higherups as to not put a risk on himself and safely resolve the matter instead of creating a huge outbreak.
