Tournaments. They happen twice a year. This will mark the third tournament of Karakura High Shool and Community College. I've invited some of the captains with me to talk about the tournament before and after.
For our first guests, welcome Shion Holland (N1_KO) and Eryka Blaski (CryBaby226 - a new captain has been issued since this interview, for anyone who is confused).
For our first guests, welcome Shion Holland (N1_KO) and Eryka Blaski (CryBaby226 - a new captain has been issued since this interview, for anyone who is confused).
"Hello, captains. First of all, introductions! What are your names?"
"Hi, I'm Eryka Blaski. I am the captain of the female basketball team."
"Hi my name is Shion Holland. I am the captain of the Male Bobcats Basketball team."
"How did you guys end up becoming the captains?""Hi my name is Shion Holland. I am the captain of the Male Bobcats Basketball team."
"Ladies first."
"When I first joined the team, the previous players had left so it was just Koko and I for the most part. I practiced a lot on my own and I improved verey quickly, I was the only one who showed up to practice most of the time, so eventually, after Blair became captain and then resigned, she saw me as a good fit to take the spot."
"Well mine is rather interesting. I joined the team and at the time, Chris was still captain! He had roles set in like trial members and I was, of course, one of them. Over time, I was putting more work into the team than the rest of the members, working day and night, playing some of Karakura's best players and sometimes, beating them. So when Chris decided to step down, I took the chance and proposed myself as captain. He had no issues with my as captain so after he resigned, I officially became the captain of the Bobcat Male Basketball Team."
"What have you done to the team since becoming a captain?""When I first joined the team, the previous players had left so it was just Koko and I for the most part. I practiced a lot on my own and I improved verey quickly, I was the only one who showed up to practice most of the time, so eventually, after Blair became captain and then resigned, she saw me as a good fit to take the spot."

"I expanded it. When I got the team, it was very inactive and small. The people who were on the team with me when I wasn't captain left shortly after I got this role so it felt as though I started from the bottom. From then on, I've gotten so many more players that are all extremely dedicated and even got an amazing Co-Captain who does so much for me and I have to give her the most credit for trying so hard to train the team."
"Well when I became Captain, the team had no connections. They were just teammates, nothing more. And my first saying was that they are family, not teammates, and should protect and treat each other with respect. Of course, some didn't listen so I had to make some roster changes and well over time, we ended up evolving as a team and a family. We beat the male spartans in a scrim and we are currently at an all time high. I have also changed up practice. It isn't just three on three now, but instead, we also go through passing drills and shooting as well."
"How prepared do you think you and your team are for the upcoming tournaments?""Well when I became Captain, the team had no connections. They were just teammates, nothing more. "I believe we are very prepared. We have been practicing daily, sometimes even twice a day for the past two weeks, all in preparation for the tournament. I have both lineups locked down, and am confident in my team's skills in their positions. I genuinely believe we have a good shot."
"Is my team prepared for the tournaments? Well I don't want to sound too mean but in the last two scrims, we played, we won by over 10 points. Our team is very confident and is going through some strong practices. We will definitely put up a fight aganst all the teams competing, and if not, show a fight we will win the tournaments. I am a bold person but that's what the bobcats should be doing."
"What is your relationship with the spartan teams?""Is my team prepared for the tournaments? Well I don't want to sound too mean but in the last two scrims, we played, we won by over 10 points. "I'd say my team is very friendly with both the female and male spartan teams for the most part. We have often done practices with the female team when they had very few members and I'd even consider us friends with the females. With the males, I wouldn't say we are close, but there are a few of them my team and I are quite friendly with."
"I mean we are very close with the female bobcat teams, I'd say. We hang out and practice together a lot. The spartan female team don't really interact with us so I can't really mention them in this. The male spartans are all call with us, we don't have any beef except for a few of their players shit talking here and there but, we often find ways to shut them up on the courts."
"After you two player against each other, do you think there will be any change in the relationship between your teams?""I mean we are very close with the female bobcat teams, I'd say. "Not at all. I think whoever wins between the two of us will have a boosted ego and have bragging rights but I don't believe it will cause any issues in the friendliness and connections the female and the male team have with each other. At the end of the day, it's a fair game, whoever wins will rightfully get that win. No hard feelings."
"Like Eryka said, our relationship will stay the same cause at the end of the day, we are both bobcats. If the females end up beating us, we will cheer them on in the finals, it's that simple, and I'd hope if we win, they do the same for us."
"Ah, and last question, just for the fun of it! What are your predictions for the tournaments tomorrow?""Like Eryka said, our relationship will stay the same cause at the end of the day, we are both bobcats. If the females end up beating us, we will cheer them on in the finals, it's that simple, and I'd hope if we win, they do the same for us."
"Between the bobats, I have no predictions at the moment. Only hope that the females will win but I can't say for sure. However, for the spartans, I believe the male team will win between them two. In the finals, I always hope it's the Bobcats, of course."
"In the bobcats games, I believe we will win. Not by a large margin though. And the game will be close all the time. When it comes to the spartans game, the male spartans should win that game and if we also win, it would be a fantastic final!"

Now for the second interview, welcome Akashi Seijirou (Teikko), the captain of this season's winning team.
"Hello! First things first, what's your name?"
"Of course, I'm Akashi Seijirou."
"Ah, Seijirou. When and how did you become the captain?"
"The previous captain had decided to step down from his post, with the agreement of the rest of the team, I was given the position of captain. In terms of when, I can't really remember. But I do know, I've been captain for a while."
"What do you think you've accomplished as a captain so far?"
"Well as Captain, quite a bit. The team you see now was not always so talented or so organized. There was a time where the team house was a mess, and there were only a couple of members left. Since I've become captain, I've filled the team to capacity with young talent, through constant practice. I've taken unshapen clay and moulded them into quite the imposing team. I've organized them by finding out their strengths and capitilizing on them, and also developing plays and strategies that fit each of their individual strengths."
"What is you relationship with the bobcat teams at the moment, and if any, were there changes in that relationship between before and after the tournaments?"
"I believe I am in good standing with the Bobcat Females. When it comes to the Bobcat Males, I am unsure. That is not to say things are sour between us, it's just to say that I don't find a need to interact with them, they aren't necessary to help me improve myself or my team."
"If there isn't already, what are you opinions on a friendly rivalry with the bobcats, similar to what the teams had in the past?"
"I'm okay with a healthy rivalry, but that would imply that I consider my team and the others on equal terms. I, in fact do not, I do not believe they can offer worthy competition the way they are now with such simplistic thinking as they use now. If they want to hold any chance of winning, they have to think outside the box, and stop looking at the sport from such a simplistic point of view, I won't say anything else, if they are smart, that is all they need me to say. To use smaller words: They need to change the way they think about basketball."
"So do you think there's a chance that during the next tournament, you'll lose?"
"Of course not, the way things are now, the tournaments from now until I graduate are already determined... my will is absolute!"
"Ah, have you had anyone beating you then?"
"Well, of course, when practicing and doing drills with my team, they win against me every now and again, that's the point of the pratice. I'll intentionally worsen myself so they an get a general idea of how to do a move before using it in a real game, I slow myself down and take them step by step on how to complete a move. But ask every one of them, if it was a real game, in a 1v1. And I try my hardest, the game has been decided. But losing to someone whilst in a real game of skill is somewhat alien to me, I never lose."
"So what you're saying is, you believe you're first in line when it comes to who's better in basketball?"
"What I'm saying is in a tournament setting, my victory is already decided. In terms of individual skill, I would place myself at the top."
[Editor's Note: Kinda ****y if I say so myself...]
"It seems like you've played most of the best players in the city then, yes? If so, what would you rank each of them as?"
"I haven't played all of the Bobacat Males, I know a few of them are good. Kwon (lustinn) is pretty good. In terms of individual skill, he is unmatched, but he has a fatal flaw, in a tournament setting, he is useless. He has but one strategy and during the tournament, we used that against him, his strategy is: 'Shoot!' that's it, not passing, no coordination, he wants to prove himself to be the best and the rest of the team couldn't matter to him. In a 1v1, he is trouble, in a team game, I would never make him a center. He'd be a great offense, but the Bobcat Males' flaw was making him center. They believed their best player should be center, but the way they determined that, was flawed.
Jiro Nysai (Sa7faLablabi), he's one of my payers, he is a defensive specialist, a tough a opponent to get by, during the tournament, he was able to stop multiple attemps of the Bobcats scoring, alongside Zhou, they make an invaluable duo. On the topic of Zhou (Carnified), he is also a defensive specialist but his offense is better than Jirp's, making Zhou a good center. Their passing and catching seem to be about equal.
Now... Nolan. Nolan (NolanOrSomething) is an offensive player, he is not very good at defense, although that is something he intends to correct. He is good with handling the ball and has good accuracy, like me, he's also a creative mind in basketball, creating new techniques that most of my players use.
Ah yes, how could I forget, Murasakibara. Murisakibara (Gxpo), is a rather difficult to handle, a problem on the court during practices, not taking it seriously enough as he should, but when he tries, he is a good all-rounder, with good defense, and offense. His weakness, is team-play. He doesn't work well with others and tends to try to do things by himself, this often gets him intto trouble with me.
That's just my team. On the Female Bobcats, Mi-Sun (yeluverue) impressed me the most, she has good team-play, good shooting, and alright defense. A good all-rounder and a decent center."

Before the report ended, an audio recording would play, indicating Kwon Jae-Jun's voice.
