Student Council is a well-known name in Karakura today. Has the thought ever crossed your mind about its history? Today, I will cover some information I found during my student council research.
The Beginning
It all started during the education boom between 1964 and 1979. During this period, the student council went by a different name: the Moral Club. It comprised students who wanted to spread equity and morality throughout the school. This caught Principal Tada’s attention and decided to rename it to what we know today, student council. The Student Council was a committee of students who would enforce rules and assist the school when needed.
November 14th, 1967, student Hiroaki Yamaguchi became the first student council president in history. Haruno Kaseya became the first vice president of the student council. Both of them wrote a code of conduct for all their fellow council members to follow.
One Became Two
In the years 1980 and 1988 due to population it came to a decision where Karakura would establish a college. Once done, the senior leadership team split up the student council for both schools. Each has its own president and vice president. However, when Dean Hiroto made this announcement to the school conflict arose due to the council holding some rivalry at the time. Thanks to Chiharu Saiky, Karakura’s first College president, and Kotone Saikou the first vice president ended the conflict quickly by coming to terms with the high school council.
Many Years Later
Years have gone by and the student council is still at it. However, some wonder if the council is slacking. If you thought you could avoid drama and other issues by becoming a student council member. Boy are you wrong. A former council president informed me that they had issues with the vice president of high school. Why? They had no clue. The vice president was probably jealous that they got president instead. Too bad you don’t always get what you want. Did you know that the student council wasn’t allowed to plan events such as dances? I didn’t! However, that changed when the council got a chance to help one year to plan an event. The SLT liked it so much that they could keep on doing it.
Before this student became president the previous president kept the council rather quiet. After the sudden changes, the council made and brought an impact that made more students interested. Aren’t college students supposed to be mature? I guess in today’s society they aren’t. Surprise! I learned that the council had two previous troublemakers who were in college! One of them was Eichi Blackburn who was so rebellious that even the president had to tell him to stop or consequences would occur. I guess that snapped some sense into him because he left the council to get therapy. Then another college councillor likes to beat people up and use them as punching bags. The name of this councilor was Asami Hasegawa or some gibberish.
We aren’t done yet because I have more tea! Did you know there was a former counsillor who assaulted students - apparently this was said in front of swim tryouts! Wow! This former councillor was.. Neon Hasayaka! I heard she didn’t make it on the team. Which is probably the best decision. I mean who would want someone like that on their team with THAT kind of reputation!?
Honestly, I guess the rumours are true student council HAS been slacking off! I wonder if they’ll try to get their reputation up after all this mess.
Anyway, that’s it for me today. For a first journalist report man.. This was fun!! If you have any tea you want to be spilled in the school newspaper or anything interesting at all come to the club room!! Until then.
