Sedene

Do you have Discord (If so, what is your discord username?):

Oceanfairy

How old are you? (Optional):

20

What is your time zone?:

MST

Describe your activity on the server:

I'm on pretty much daily, my current playtime is 3W and 4D. I've been on the server and in the community for about 2 years consistently now, I took a break where I'd only get on for my apartment for a while though since I was busy irl.

Have you ever been banned (If yes, when and why?):

nope!

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:

Yes!

School Employee Role you are applying for?:

Counselor

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:

School Counselors give guidance to students in various aspects, including their academic life, future career, and in some cases mental health. They might help students overcome social or behavioral changes, give them a soft place to land. Though they are not to be mistaken for a psychiatrist or the******. They may want to support students who may also be going through things rough at home through their schooling experience, or offer a place for them to recollect in cases of a panic attack. All in all, they can be a jack of all trades depending on what a student needs, they care a lot about a students future.

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:

I've been roleplaying since 2016, I was one of those kids who posted face claims on Amino or Instagram and would roleplay in dms with my friends for hours. I joined SRP somewhere within that time, back when it was something like a Yandere High School type of thing, though that was a VERY long time ago. Since then, I moved on a bit in the roleplay department for writing instead. I've been really into reading and writing for a while, though it has been hard for me to adapt due to Dyslexia, I actually managed to graduate highschool early because of my writing abilities. I'm very proud of how far I've come with my writing, and I'm learning to move it back into roleplay. I love roleplaying, I have many many things written about my characters so it's fun to have the opportunity to write them out. I've worked hard to get where I am, and I like to let myself have some joy in my writing as well through roleplay and character development. Character development, design, and art have always been a point of coping for me since I was at least 10.

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:

For a while my character has felt stagnant, and I've tried a couple things to renew my love for her. I feel like I need to do something else with her, rather than just have her shelved. I started playing as a new character for a different spark, but Meika was always my primary and I'd love to find new opportunities for her where I can. I really would like her to have use again. I want more for my characters than to just never use them again, I want to do more and be more active within communities that I really enjoy being in. I want to be more active in srp, I want to have more to do as well. I have a lot of time to spare!

Situations
/*Do not mention use of FearRP*/

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
Throughout Nina's school years she's learned how to keep herself collected in high stress situations, she'd let them off with at least a warning on disrespecting themselves as well as faculty members. She would attempt to approach with a kind and friendly attitude in hopes that would be enough. If they continue, she would give them a detention slip, as well as be firm with them. She wouldn't want to be hostile either, knowing that they are, at the end of the day, just kids.

You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:

Nina would first ask them to break up, she would rather have them peacefully stop than to have to intervene further. If they did not listen to her, she'd do her best to pull them apart or get in between them to keep the students away from each other while she tries to figure out why this fight started in the first place. She'd alert other staff through her radio and then try to discern what she can about the situation based on the student's stories. Since she can't possibly know for sure, she'll issue both of them detention slips and ask that the students stay away from each other.

Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:

It depends on what they're doing, but her first priority is always the students. If she believes this could be detrimental to the employee's ability to do their job, she would confront them. School is about keeping a safe space for the students, nothing less than that can be accepted. It definitely depends on exactly what is happening, but she wouldn't allow someone to be out of line when there are kids who need these people to better their futures. Morally, she wants to make school always a safe space to land for everyone. And not even other employees are exempt from her goals. If they can't do their job, she'll report them to a higher-up in the school system.

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?

Nina would definitely give herself a moment to relax, and enjoy talking with the other faculty that may be there. She's learned to be very extroverted with time and loves to have small talk with people about how their days are going or anything new with their lives. She'd probably refresh herself with some water and food, she'd want to take the opportunity of a break to recollect herself. If she has the time, she may also look into or think about any of her duties in advance. If it's been a really hard day, however, she may just want to take a moment to drink some coffee and write about things she may be stressing about. She cares a lot about making sure she manages her stress.

Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:

/me
sat at her desk, making sure to keep it as organized as possible. She flips through some papers, checking on her records of previous student sessions. Putting a file to the side, she stacks the rest neatly and begins to file them into her cabinet. Her eyes linger on the student name as she types them up, being sure to have everything ready to go when meeting with them. She notices them enter the room, and offers a warm smile. "Welcome in, how are you doing today?"

/me
wandered the halls, her heels tapping on the tile floor. Her keys jingled with every step. She often greeted or waved to students as she passed them, wanting to be kind despite her hurry. She notices a altercation between two students, walking right up to them. Preparing a friendly, but firm approach. "Back up from one another, please." She took her time to hear each side of the story. Since it was no physical fight, she let them off with a warning. "Please avoid each other, don't make me stop by again. If I see you two together once more, I will issue you detention." She didn't want to be too harsh, offering the two a genuine smile, asking one to come with her to ensure that they don't stick side by side. "I wanted to check up on you, actually, let's go." Not wanting to be too obvious in her de-escalation.

/me
scooted herself into her seat, shifting to maintain her posture. Being her first faculty meeting, she was a tad nervous about how things would go. She had a stress ball in hand, fidgeting with it as she followed along. Soon the meeting came to a close, as they asked for final questions Nina found herself content. She made sure to grab her purse before she head out, giving a wave to her coworkers. She wasn't the first out, but not last by any means. Heading to the breakroom, she notices a more familiar student and gives them a smile and polite wave. She heads into the breakroom, sighing in relief as she grabs a small snack out of her purse, along with her water bottle. It felt like a long day, it was definitely time for a small break.

Backstory

Growing up, Nina was a little bit of a firecracker. She didn't do well with social interaction, and was often isolated from her peers. She held a lot of anger in her childhood. Her parents had been quite neglectful, leading her to eventually run away from home. In Karakura is where she really began to bloom. After years and years of neglect and trauma, she began to realize people aren't so bad. Over time, and it was lots of time, she really began to care about those around her. Her real turning point, however, would be a red haired girl by the name of Miyako Sakai. As if under a spell by her, she wanted to change herself. She wanted to be better. She helped Miyako through her tough times, and in turn helped her other friends too. Miyako changed her life, and made her realize she can be so much more than just an angry, sad, miserable person. She learned to appreciate herself, and find things she actually enjoyed. Psychology, Writing, Journalism, and a few other things came to mind. She eventually decided she wanted to be a Psychiatrist, but over time in her schooling, she realized that it might be a bit more difficult for her. She decided she wanted to do the next best thing. Miyako saving her gave her the motivation to save and help others, and now she plans every day to do for others what was done for her. She threw herself back into her studies, preparing for college and her future, finally now that she knew she had one. Watching her favorite person's success in becoming apart of KPD gave her a new kick of motivation, knowing that they both want to make the world a better place. She worked hard for college, getting accepted and immediately being set in what she wanted. After her extensive work and eventual graduation, she was very satisfied to now apply for the very school she met Miyako. Being a bit of a wishful person, she holds the belief in her heart that Karakura is the perfect place for her.

Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
"When I was a kid, I went through many hardships. I wasn't as lucky as other people in my upbringing. I feel I can relate to students as someone who got herself into trouble because of her decisions as a highschooler. I want to be a place of comfort to those with poor homelives, I want to show them that even if you don't have the best you can still get somewhere and be happy with your surroundings. I want to inspire and help shape young minds. I originally wanted to be a psychiatrist, but I think I'd do better in this line of work. I've always done my best to be there for those when I could. I'd love to extend that further."

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:

"I may not have as much experience as others, but I am a very determined person. I do not give up on anything once I'm at it, and I'm willing to see this all the way through. I refer to myself as an empathetic person, and I know my friends do as well. I can connect to students and other people better than most, I'll always be sure to lend a helping hand as well. I will be a point of trust for students, and I'll always do my best to make them feel welcome. I won't just try, I am going to make a difference for people's lives."
