What position are you applying for (Maiden or Priest)?
Today i am applying for Priest, but would be more than happy with Maiden

What is your motivation for applying?
My motivation for applying has a range of different reasons. Since become very active i have looked into applying for a role within the Monistary, this interest has ranged for around a year now. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the aspects of role play i have so far been involved with such as CrimeRP, GangRP, MedicalRP, the list goes on. Despite all of this i am constantly thriving for different area's of role play i have yet to engage with and the shrine would be an amazing place for me to expand! I have visited the shrine a few times on my high school character and i am always blown away at how engaging and enjoyable it is to speak with the Maidens or priest's that are online or even people at the shrine in general. Aside from the roleplay aspect of joining shrine, there is also the personal aspect. I think that this will be a great and slightly more relaxed experience than others and given my work i do IRL, it would be amazing to have a calm space at the end of my shift to unwind and speak with players from all over the world. SRP has always brought such comfort to me in my hard times and i feel like learning to lean into more peaceful and maybe even religious area's of the server will bring further joy and comfort to my day to day life. I could continue to go on for a long time about this topic but i will digress.

What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?
Regrettably, i do not know a lot about Shintoism however while in Secondary school or, high school for most people, i actually studied ethics and philosophy and passed it very highly. Not only that but i thoroughly enjoyed learning in depth about other peoples believes and thought both within religion and other topics that come from that. Furthermore, my Current job in my life also includes inclusivity and understanding with people no matter who they are and what they believe, and i get praised for showing interest in these topics when talking to people. So in short, i am MORE than willing to learn about it, and to learn a lot if possible

Backstory

Kassima Anja -

Young Kassima was born on the 13th of November 2003, In her home town of Baños de la Encina, Jaén in spain. Her father was also born and raised there but Kassima's mother was the most striking Japanese woman he had ever met. Kassima was born with the most soft blonde hair and tanned skin, inherited from her father as well as his Blue eye.. yes just the one, as her other is a deep chocolate brown that come from none other than her mother. Kassima also inherited her mothers facial and bodily features, leaving her at a petite 5'2. Kassima stayed with her father in Spain while her mother returned to Karakura to upkeep her work responsibilities, but after her fathers passing, Kassima didn't hesitate but to run into her mothers arms and re-ignite their long lost Maternal spark. Kassima found it hard to adjust given her appearance varied from her pupils when she first begun to attend school, but with the right friends and all her family she learn to embrace most of her differences except for her different eye colors and so, Kassima always covers her blue eye with her hair.

By this time, Kassima was 13 and thriving in her new life. She was now fluent in Korean and even taught her own mother Spanish so that they could discreetly speak infront of family if needed and they bonded over their new inside secrets only they could understand. But like many, when Kassima turnt 16, she begun to make friend with the wrong crown and slowly, her mother couldn't recognize her sweet girl anymore. Although Kassima never commited crimes, she would be a witness and it gave her darker thoughts and she got more Angry, more 'Snappy' and her family couldn't bare to see it anymore, so they took her to the Shrine. Kassima met with a young Maiden who spoke with her about her troubles, read her palm and even went for a walk in their hot springs, Kassima felt relaxed and at peace so over time a one day visit a month, went to one a week, to a few days a week and she became good friends with this Maiden.

Since The, Kassima has turnt into a bright light in her family and friend's life, often being called the The****** friend due to her ability to listen and help. She never truly turnt to any religion but has noticed she often thinks about a higher power, one that helped her out of a dark hole before it got any worse. She spoke more with the Maiden who discussed more into their beliefs, and Kassima realized she had more in common with them than she knew, and she vowed to work hard, and join her friend in the future to finish what she believed is her path, to helping both other people and herself.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE / SITUATIONS

How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?
Kassima would walk around the shine, always looking around for people to engage with or for people who seemed like they needed help, no matter what help that may be. A small and approachable smile with almost never leave her lips, leaving two dimples permanently dented in her cheeks. With Guests, Kassima would always approach them with said smile and act as a bigger sister to them, giving them a shoulder or an ear like someone once did for her. She would hold herself proudly, but never wanted to come off as 'better' than anyone, not like she ever has. With sta

ff, she get;s excitied to see the people she works with, her stride in her walk becomes slightly quicker and that smile grows even more. She will most likely begin a conversation and engage with it until either party had to move on to other tasks. The other staff at the shrine aren't just her colleuages, they're her family and she want's to make sure they're always feeling their best or looking their best! She loves to braid people's hair if they allow it.

You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it?
Kassima would approach the guests, still smiling as she did not want to come across as frustrated at their actions or even angry. Her right hand would raise into a wave to get the guests attention in a polite manner and ask if they could come down to the ground to speak, if they comply, when they are on the same level as her she would have a conversation with them. During the conversation her voice would remain calm and approachable, she is not there to lecture them or to belittle them for their actions. She would gently ask them not to climb on the roofs as some of them are quite delicate and cherished by the staff and spirits, and she would hate for them to be ruined, or for the guests to be hurt. She then suggested if they have any energy to burn then there is the Dojo or the hot springs where they can swim or engage in friendly combat and show them the way if needed!

Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?
'I wish to become a Priest or even so a Maiden so i can help people like i was once helped, to bring them to peace and comfort in a place where it is quite, still, and relaxing. I wish to achieve nothing more than to be the best version of myself and fulfilling this role is the final piece in my puzzle. It brings me closer to the staff, the guests and my father as well as my own spirit. I have once had Tarot cards read for me and i can't explain into words how much i learn from it and perceived myself in a different more self worthy light. I wish to learn more about Shintoism and Cherish it as a faith, one that i want to be involved in and bring into my everyday life, and then use my knowledge to teach others should they want to learn.

What are the core values of your character? (OPTIONAL - MORE INFO IN FAQ)
My core values which shapes me as the person today are as follows. Family, Family is the center of my mind, and leads me to make reasonable sacrifices to keep them safe, and to make sure they always feel like they are enough and worthy, so when i say my co-workers will be my family, i do not make that statement lightly.

Loyalty is also a core value of mine as it is the epicenter of trust. There are many definitions of loyalty, but to me, loyalty is forgiveness for those you hold close if there were to make a simple mistake, to always take speak well of the person you are loyal to and to be the best person you can be. Loyalty is something that can so easily be broken or strayed, but i have always been loyal to my friend, my family, and my faith, as that is what is closest to my heart.

Finally, Altruism and patience. With Altruism, i find myself more drawn towards people who do good things, not to be praised for doing said thing, but because it makes them human. Whether that be Tying someones shoelaces, helping someone with their bags, shielding someone with your umbrella. it is the act of doing good things and expecting nothing in return such as praise, approval or self gratification. Patience is a strong value for me as without patience, i wouldn't be where or who i am today. In my eyes, you never know what someone is going through and why they may be yelling or getting angry, so sometimes just sitting there and letting them get their anger out is the best thing.. be patient with people because at the end of the day, thats all we are, we're people and we're humans and we deserve someone to wait for us until we are ready to explain what is going on or to be ready for advice or hard truths. Kids are kids, and nothing can change that, they deserve to have patient and loving people surrounding them, and so do adults as they go through a lot everyday that they don't talk about as they may feel like a burden, sometimes being patient with them will help them feel safe to speak with you. Things can take long, they can't be rushed. All these Core values have shaped me as the person i am today.
