Shinkiro "Kiro" Kumori was born into the Kumori family, a notorious mafia clan based in Busan, South Korea. Her parents, Clover and Dexter Kumori, were key figures in the underworld, but Kiro was raised in a more sheltered way, far removed from the violent activities of the family business. Her mother, Ava Kumori, a skilled fighter, recognized that being a woman in their world would be challenging for Kiro. So, she trained Kiro in self-defense, martial arts, and honing her quick reflexes from a young age. Ava believed that Kiro's survival depended on her ability to protect herself in an often dangerous world.Kiro’s father, Dexter, wanted her to understand the intricacies of the mafia family’s business. Dexter taught Kiro about finances, strategy, and power dynamics, preparing her for a role she might one day inherit. However, when Kiro was born, the Kumori family decided to retire from the mafia world, much to Kiro’s disappointment, as she yearned for the excitement her father often described.
Despite being raised in a family with such heavy history, Kiro struggled with personal issues. She developed trust issues, never quite able to rely on anyone outside of her inner circle. Her mood was often unstable, swinging between cold indifference and bursts of aggression. Kiro had difficulty expressing her emotions, which made her feel disconnected from others. There, they enrolled at Karakura High School and rented an apartment. They also bought a Black Toyota Prius and a white motorcycle named White Phantom, both symbols of their newfound freedom.In Karakura, Kiro began to form deeper bonds with new people. She reunited with her childhood friend Sakura Night, and through Sakura, met Zack and Ao Carter, two brothers who quickly became her closest allies.
