Shoji tries to present as put together, sophisticated, and warm. He doesn't like to show skin, always cautious of looking too similar to his brother. He likes vests, and gloves, and long sleeves. Anything to make teachers like him more.​

Shoji has poor posture, as if trying to make himself look smaller.​

He often keeps his right shoulder bandaged under his clothes, no matter the occasion.​

Religious Beliefs:

The cornerstone of things Shoji Cannot Talk About, to anyone. His family knows, and share the beliefs, but not even with them is it safe to discuss. The Shinjaku family perceive themselves as being cursed. Shoji does not need to concern himself with religion outside of what is practiced within his family.​

General Appearance​

Personality:

Shoji is nervous. That's at his core. Even when he knows what he is talking about, he seeks approval with glances, uncertain. The slightest pushback will cause him to dissolve like a doormat. Emotionally he is not the most mature, not quite feeling like his age.​

He expects to be hated, to be seen as a delinquent, to be pushed aside. But he seeks approval and warmth and for people to like him. He wants to be liked so bad, but it's so hard.​

He dismisses his own interests as "silly" and "stupid" if he feels others may not understand. It takes him time to warm up to someone, though sometimes he does slip and tell more than he intended to.​

Someone who wants to be loved more than anything. Who yearns for acceptance. That's who Shoji is. Who harbors a lot of quiet resentment he cannot bring himself to consider. Who only feels confident when on a stage. He has a sense of humor, he likes to laugh, but it's just hard.​

Shoji was always the gentle one of the family. Always the one who let himself fade to the background to allow the others the chance to shine. Always the one putting himself aside.

Quiet resentments built up over years he refuses to let slip.

Shoji has always liked fish. They've always caught his eye. At his previous school he was made fun of for this, but that's alright. It's okay.

There's not a lot he's willing to say about his family. There's not a lot he'd be willing to put in a diary.
