Trivia
What is the Student Council?: The student council is an organization composed of a group of students, normally democratically elected by their peers, at the end of each school year. The normal result of the election is a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and councilor (or vocal) , as well as a representative of each of the courses that make up the school. The main function of the members of the student council is to represent, listen and defend their peers, serving them as a link with the Faculty, Teachers, Parents and as well other institutions outside the School.
What happens in the School Council?: As if it were a club, once every week (could be more depending the circumstances) the members of the student council all join together and discuss all sorts of different ideas, mostly having to do with the future of the school. These ideas, could be from activities that involve the contribution of the students or maybe even ways to help certain students in need. It is crucial to attend these meetings in the sense that there could arise ideas that could be controversial and there needs to be enough members to voice out their concerns.
Do you prefer to work alone or in a group?: I prefer working in a group because we can use our different skills and talents to contribute. When you have a diverse and well-focused work team, weaknesses can be diminished. It is important to find different people who are willing to cooperate and work for the same purpose. In my opinion working together (with the right people) is also more efficient because more ideas come into play.
Do you have any experience Roleplaying?: Yes. It is one of the reasons as to why I joined this server. I enjoy doing short scenarios but I can manage long ones as well. I'm attracted to anime-style or fantasy themes like slice of life and Harry Potter.
Roleplay Scenario
You are on the Student Council and the chairman submits an awful idea. What do you do?: I would try to see the negatives and positives of the idea. Maybe try and see what was the chairman's purpose for such idea to be implemented and try to propose a different one but related to the same purpose. For example, if the chairman wanted to form a club that related to stress relief, but their idea was to make the students run around the hallways doing whatever they pleased, then I would suggest my idea which could be something like creating a club that is a bit more organized, and having the students color or do other quiet activities that relieve stress.
- "I do see were you are coming from, but wouldn't it be to risky? It could disrupt other fellow teachers and students. What if we help out the future club leader and ask for an available room so that the students can use it to perform more controlled stress-relieving activities such as coloring, yoga, etc..."
You submit an idea - everyone hates it. How do you deal with the situation?: We are all human, and part of being in a position of leadership is to hear out the concerns of others. If they think my idea was bad I would expect them to explain why they think it was bad (constructive criticism). I'd hear them out and suggest a different idea or maybe agree to another one that could serve the purpose I wanted.
-After hearing the chairman's concern, "Oh. I guess my idea was probably a bit too out there. It would indeed cost too much money to buy that chocolate fountain for the prom. So I think we could stick to just the photo-booth."
There is a split decision on an idea. The Councilors begin to debate if the idea should be accepted. As time goes on the debate turns into an argument! How do you handle the situation?: I would politely ask everyone to calm down and, assuming that my fellow councilors are mature enough to continue the debate in an unheated manner, I pick the side I agree most with an share the reasons as to why I believe that idea is more viable.

Characters name: Andrew Rosa
Characters gender: Male
Characters age: 18 (Senior)
What Student Council Position are you applying for?: Vice-President
Why do you want this position? : Ever since I was a kid, I've loved being part of a group of leaders that strive for excellence. I was the Treasurer of my school since 9th grade. In terms of what motivates me right now... I'd say it's the feeling of being part of the student council. I'm aware it will be hard work, but I'm excited. I'd love to be able to share ideas that could contribute to the school's well-being as well as making other's voices be heard.
