How old are you? (Optional): N/A
What is your time zone?: EST
Describe your activity on the server:
I try to be as active as possible. Some weeks I can be a lot more active than others. I'm usually most active in the late afternoon/night. Weekdays vary; however, I am usually more active on weekends
Have you ever been banned (If yes, when and why?): N/A
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?: Yes. I do.
School Employee Role you are applying for?: Counselor
In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
It is a school counselor’s job to guide the students by supporting them academically and socially. This is completed in various ways, such as private meetings, conversations, and classroom discussions. It is important that students have someone to help maneuver them through their time in school, as they may not have someone helping them at home. Counselors help students develop crucial skills such as behavior and time management, communication, goal setting, and planning.
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
I have roleplayed on SRP since the beginning of 2022. Previously, I had some experience roleplaying on other minor servers. I took a small break at the end of 2022 but returned to SRP a few months later. I have been active since then, playing two characters: August Minori and Devon Volkonsky.
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
I have been roleplaying as a Grade-12 character since joining SRP, and am interested in a change. Having two Grade-12s is not very stimulating, as there are not very many activities to be involved in besides sports. I am looking for a change and more opportunities. I enjoy supporting others and find the psychology field very intriguing! I hope to be able to take on a guiding role for the community of Karakura.

Situations
During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
August takes a deep breath, keeping calm composure as the student continues to shout. Instead of showing any hints of anger or frustration with the student, she responds in a steady tone, “Mind your language, please.” She makes eye contact with the student. “I understand you’re upset. Let’s talk about what is bothering you.” Her tone remains gentle yet firm, which sets a clear boundary while still inviting the student to open up and express their emotions. She doesn’t take the insult personally, as she is more focused on helping the student manage their emotions respectfully.
You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
After noticing the fight, she drops what she is doing and runs over to assist. “Hey! Break it up!” She demands, stepping in between the two students. “That’s enough!” She signals to other staff members for support in breaking up the fight while still keeping a watchful eye on the two kids. After the students are separated, she softens her tone as she addresses them both. “I need both of you to calm down so that we can figure this out. Whatever it is, fighting will not fix it.”
Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
August recognizes the actions of her coworker and chooses to take action. Without causing a scene, she approaches the faculty member calmly. “I need to discuss something with you in private, please,” she explains in a serious tone as she pulls them to the side of the hallway. “Your actions could cause harm to you and others. I need you to stop immediately to ensure everyone’s safety.”
When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
While in the break room, August takes advantage of the opportunity to unwind. Enjoying a light snack, she reaches for a book from her bag. She leans back comfortably in a chair and begins to read. By using this time to rest her mind, she is able to return to her role as a counselor with a renewed mindset.
Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:
/me gently opened the door to her office and greeted the anxious student with a warm smile. She took a seat across from them, offering a reassuring nod. "How have you been since our last meeting?" she asked as she listened intently to their concerns. She remained focused on the student, making sure they felt seen and understood. August was sure to provide supportive feedback throughout the conversation.
/me takes a sip of her coffee. Noticing a student with a troubled expression passing by her office, she calls out, “Do you have a second to talk?” She gestured to the chair across from her desk, offering a seat. “I noticed you seemed a little off today. Is anything on your mind?” She slid open a drawer to her desk in search of a ballpoint pen. Flipping to a clean sheet in her notebook, she wrote the student's name and the date at the top of her page, preparing to take any necessary notes on the session.
/me takes a few minutes to update the bulletin board outside her office. She carefully handles the pins to hang up new information and notices, making sure to organize it in a clear way that ensures the new updates to the board can be easily visible to anyone passing by. She holds the remaining pins in her hand as she takes a step back to admire her work. She gives a satisfied smile.

Full Name (First & Last only): August Minori
Title (Mr, Mrs, Miss): Mrs.
Preferred Name: August
Age (Minimum is 25): 36
Gender: Female (She/Her)
Academic Degree: Masters
Major(s): Psychology
Minors: Sociology
Nationality:
“I was born to a German mother and Japanese father, which makes me German-Japanese.”
Known Languages:
“German is my mother tongue since I was born in Germany, but since I met my Korean husband, I’ve learned to speak fluent Korean as well.”
Backstory
August was born on June 18th, 1988, in Munich, Germany. She grew up in an unstable household, with an artist as a mother and an irritated engineer as a father. At the age of three, August’s mother tragically passed away in a car accident while on a work trip. The loss sent her family spiraling, as her father turned to heavy alcoholism in an attempt to cope with the death of his beloved wife. August didn’t have a close relationship with her father due to the fact that he spent most of his time drinking his life away in bars. Unfortunately, his actions consequently led to his dismissal as an engineer. He was no longer able to support his children in more ways than one, which contributed to the formation of August's childhood trauma.
Ten years after her mother’s passing, August and her brothers were presented with an opportunity to move to Karakura, Japan, in search of a fresh start away from their father’s presence. Despite the fact that August was now living a better life than she had ever lived, she still found herself coping with anxiety and depression. The trauma instilled in her at an early age did not leave her. Concern overtook her identity as she pursued a relationship with a young boy from a rival family, the Minoris. She struggled severely with attachment issues, constantly worrying and overthinking about her new boyfriend’s safety. However, Res was always there to reassure her.
August and Res married later on, expecting a little baby boy within their first year as newlyweds. From the moment she found out about her pregnancy, August swore to be everything her father was not. She raised her son to be the best version of himself, all while growing in her role as a mother. Now, August and Res are parents to five children, two of which have been adopted by the family. All of their children are August's treasures.
Over the years, August has grown close with her in-laws. One day, August was having lunch with Res's aunt, Se-jin Minori, when the topic of occupation came up in conversation. At the time, August was unemployed, but she eagerly listened to Se-jin talk about how much she enjoyed her job as a caretaker. Se-jin knew of August's motherly instinct and suggested a job as a school faculty member at which she could work with children. August found the idea captivating and ran home to tell her husband of their conversation. She looked into it further, realizing that this was her calling. Eventually, her husband found a faculty spot available for him as well, allowing the two to start and navigate a new, exciting chapter together.
Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
“As a young girl, I never experienced the type of parental love that other children had. My father lost his job as an engineer shortly after my mother passed, and he wasn’t able to support my brothers and me. I often found myself lonely. My father lost everything once he began drinking more heavily, leaving my brothers and I to fend for ourselves. All I needed in those moments was somebody to talk to. I needed someone who could help me navigate my life and difficult times of conflict at home. I want to be that type of person for these students. I believe that I can create a kind, welcoming environment in which the students of Karakura feel comfortable, safe, and right at home.”
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
“I believe that I should be accepted over other applicants due to my unique blend of empathy, compassion, and experience as someone in need of counseling. I offer great dedication to the well-being of the school community and my ability to meaningfully engage with students. I have a genuine interest in serving my community and helping others navigate challenges, which is what I believe sets me apart from other applicants. My strong desire to create a positive environment makes me capable of enhancing the support and experience of the students of Karakura.”
