Hello everyone, as many of you know the News Faction runs a little page called 'The Daily Paranoia', where we write tales, myths, and folklore around the city. As the October month begins to roll around, and the months get colder, I want some fresh ideas, spooky tales or ideas that I can give out to the reporters to write about.

I want to hear the ideas some have been cooking up in their heads for quite awhile, or just a quick idea those would want to see grow.

Depending on how many ideas we get, I may even write a Paranoia report.. heh.

I look forward to reading your ideas.

This is just a rough draft I wrote up that hopefully will be interesting!! From my knowledge not a lot is known about the ocean in Karakura so what perfect way to add some mystery to it with a folktale!!

The Shiosokai

Long ago, when fishermen and sailors loved exploring the Karakura Sea, whether it was to find extraordinary fish or deep treasure, a finding would be discovered that no sailor could imagine. One day, a group of sailors were soaring the sea before a sudden wave of heavy fog hit their view. The sailors were blinded and their view was limited even though their lanterns weren't helping.

One of the sailors spotted a dark figure and the echoes of a child crying for help would be heard. Without hesitation, the sailor would drop down the emergency boat to go save the child. As the sailor got closer to the small figure they noticed that it oddly and strangely changed shape. The sailor now feeling a sense of uneasiness would immediately turn the boat and begin paddling away.

The waves suddenly got stronger causing the boat to lose control and flip over. The sailor fell into the water as they panicky gasped for air and tried to scream for help from his crew mates. Unfortunately, the crewmates did not hear the cries of their fellow sailor. The drowning sailor turned to the figure that was now closer and it appeared that this was no ordinary figure. This was something much different. It was a creature.

The sailor was never to be found. Over the years, more sailors met the same doom with that creature. Tales began to arise across Karakura, some say it’s just a scary story to keep ships off the Sea. Some say that it’s not real and some say that it’s a mystery to be solved. The sailors eventually gave this creature the name Shiosokai which means Tide Phantom.

The sea has been quiet for the past few years but with October creeping up. . . the sea was getting colder. The waves seemed to be lively. Perhaps the Shiosokai was really out there. Do you dare to venture out?
