Describe your activity on the server:
Due to my country’s situation, I am still using the online class setup which enables me to be really active on the server. Due to having a lot of free time, I play for about 7-10 hours each day though in that time frame, I’d take breaks in order to do stuff that concerns me in real life. I started playing on the server around early March 2021 and I’ve been playing it inconsistently for months now (taking a break every once in a while due to real life issues). Ever since joining the server, I’ve been known for being an all arounder, with most of my time in the server being spent on sports, SeriousRP, as well as GangRP (though I stopped gangRP due to the toxicity of the community)

What is your motivation for applying?:
Ever since I learned about the KPD department, It instantly piqued my interest, and it would not only provide me with further achievements and connections but it would also provide me with additional exposure in the more serious and intricate aspects of roleplaying in the server. In any case, I'd like to join this specific organization as I'd like to challenge and enhance my alertness, problem solving, as well as my critical and rapid thinking skills. My commitment to the force may motivate other officers to exert more effort when it comes to playing the role. Another huge factor regarding the reason for my application is that roleplaying has become monotonous for me recently, and me being an enthusiast of SeriousRP, would like to experience it more.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
Based on what I’ve seen so far, the KPD police force handles a variety of tasks in order to sustain the peace of the city. Tasks that are assigned to them range from handling verbal threats/warnings to situations where they are forced to take a person’s life. Due to the high criminal rate of the city, police would receive calls on a daily basis. The police’s top priority is to arrest criminals though that does not mean that’s the only thing they do, they’re also tasked to patrol the city, hindering troublesome teens that are up to no good. In some instances, police officers would also be tasked to escort important people such as the mayor as well as other people if they were to ask for an escort. By observing the force, I also learned that they’re tasked to respond to calls immediately. Certain officers are also tasked to train those who are not as experienced as them, helping them learn the fundamentals as well as giving them tips on how to become a better police officer. The police officers are also tasked with assisting the EMS team in various situations, they assist those who are injured and bring them to the hospital in order for them to receive treatment immediately. In conclusion, the sole purpose of the tasks that are given to the police is to stop delinquents and provide protection for the citizens.

Why is the Police important to SchoolRP?
The police force is essential to SchoolRP as they are the ones maintaining the balance, keeping criminal roleplay or “GangRP” under control. If the city were to not have the police force, gangs and criminals would just be doing their illegal stuff on a daily basis. Thanks to the police, people are still able to SchoolRP, where players are actually roleplaying as a normal student/school employee, keeping the purpose of the gamemode. It also makes sense as to why the police force is important to SchoolRP, every city needs to have some sort of faction/force that keeps the criminals and illegal activities at bay. As mentioned before, police and its faction are one of the groups that utilize SeriousRP, which for me is very entertaining. What I’m saying is that the police force is one of the factions that keeps the server and its gamemode entertaining and fun. In conclusion, police are the ones that minimizes the gang and illegal activities that occur in Karakura on a daily basis, allowing people to still roleplay however they want to instead of being confronted by gang members everywhere they go.

Do you acknowledge that you're subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?
Yes, I understand that I can be demoted at any given time when deemed necessary.

Do you acknowledge that by applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Police Officer role?
Yes, I plan and agree on being 100% dedicated to the police officer role.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, If training were to be held whilst I’m online, I understand that I am required to participate in it in order to avoid being punished.

In-Character (IC) Section

SECTION 1: CHARACTER INFORMATION

Character's Full Name:

Jo Jin-Sang

Character's age (if accepted):
30

Character's gender & pronouns:
Male He/Him

Character's Academic Background
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):

Graduated with Bachelor's Degree

What languages are you proficient in besides Japanese?
None as of now, but he’ll be learning more in the near future.

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
Jo Jin-Sang is a Korean male with a noticeable athletic physique, he would also be pretty tall for an asian male standing at 6’3. His skin tone would be nearly pale to the point that he’d be mistaken as a ghost, his dark gray hair would complement his faintly blue eyes. Jo Jin-Sang also likes to follow the latest fashion trends, wearing whatever young adults wear though he leans more on the professional outfits as he thought it would compensate him for his lack of professionality. With him having a fairly young appearance, he tends to appear approachable especially by teenagers.

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
As mentioned from the question earlier, Jo Jin-Sang usually doesn’t do suit and tie as he likes to keep things “casual” though he can be professional when needed be. During a casual situation, he’s less tense which allows him to think more clearly, during a professional situation however, the opposite happens which leads him to panic, causing him to zone out from time to time.

What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Jo Jin-Sang treats his co-workers as if they’re his own siblings though he wouldn't let this stop him from being professional with them as well as treating them with respect. Due to him treating his co-workers as if they were his siblings, he’d value teamwork over anything, striving to cooperate with his fellow cops on a daily basis. Jo Jin-Sang completely trusts his co-workers and believes that he can fully rely on them with having his back, he would also try his best to be the same for them. Jo Jin-Sang doesn’t only plan on providing protection for the citizens of Karakura, he’d also want to create a strong bond between him and his peers, growing together in order to protect the city as a team.

Do you see yourself as a leader or a follower? Why?
I see myself as a leader, being the straightforward person that I am, I can confront stuff easily and initiate conflicts. I’m also a risk taker, I’d always be taking calculated risks knowing that I would be taking responsibility for my actions and facing the consequences that follow. Being a leader is not just about ordering your subordinates and peers around, being a leader is about communicating and cooperating with said peers, taking the initiative and leading them to produce successful outcomes. If I were to be placed in a situation or a position where I am required to take initiative, I am confident that I’d be able to do a decent job especially with matured co-workers that are open to listening to orders.

BACKSTORY (100+ words)
Jo Jin-Sang was born in South-Korea, Goyang. He would be blessed with a wealthy, perfect and healthy life, though on his 5th birthday, his life would fall apart right in front of him as both of his parents were murdered by thieves that somehow got into their house. He was the only survivor from the incident, running off from the scene. Without nowhere to go, he’d live in the streets for months, begging and eating left-overs, reality would be shown to him at a very young age, people would be fighting for their lives, stealing, robbing, basically doing anything they can to survive with no consideration about the law whatsoever. Fortunately for him, a Japanese man named Yeisun Naka and his wife Asun Naka would stumble upon him, showing him pity and deciding to take care of him. The two would take Jo Jin-Sang back to Japan, Yokohama, raising him as if he was their own son, providing him with everything a parent should provide their children, the two would also be strict, teaching Jo-Jin Sang discipline, respect, manners and many more, making him the person he is today. Life was going good for Jo Jin-Sang again, years passed by and before he knew it, he’s graduating high school, after doing so, his “parents” would finally allow him to go on his own path, after saying his goodbyes to them, he’d then move to Karakura for college though he wouldn’t expect what he was bringing himself to, shortly after moving to Karakura, he saw how purge-like and violent the city is, he’d then get flashbacks of his traumatic childhood back in korea. He would then decide to commit himself into being a police officer, as he didn’t want others to experience what he did. He was shocked, impressed even, at the crime rate of the city. By entering college, he was hesitant at first but he couldn’t handle the fact that what happened to him might happen to someone else. He would then finally decide to take up courses that relate to the field of police work in college, focusing and dedicating himself to his studies, Jo Jin-Sang would graduate at the top of his class, his hard work paying off, though with him focusing really hard on his studies, he’d consequently lack the other requirements for being an officer. After graduating he decided to not sign up for the job yet and instead did side jobs while focusing on building his body and mental power. Years passed by and on his 30th birthday, he finally decides to apply for the job with the hopes of getting accepted and finally doing something that would help change the city for the better.

SECTION 2: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?

No, when caught with a pocket knife, you’ll be arrested for illegal possession of weapons.

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
  1. Cane - A substitute for crutches, suggested for crippled people to always have one ready incase of emergency.
  2. Cough syrup - A simple solution for coughs.
  3. Paracetamol - Consume to reduce pain.
  4. Birth control - Consume if not ready for babies.
  5. Eye patch - covers the eye.

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
I would first sneakily record said co-workers that are abusing the inmates, after doing so, I would immediately show the recording to a higherup or a supervisor and leave them to confront the officer about his behavior. I would also ask the supervisor to not leak my identity as I wouldn’t want any conflicts/issues between me and my fellow officers.

What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
By seeing my co-worker getting assaulted, I would immediately call for backup, after doing so, I’d scan the situation in order for me to know what equipment I need to utilize (Taser or gun). I would then assist my officer, fighting back the delinquents that were once assaulting him/her. I would be proceeding with caution the whole process, avoiding as many injuries/casualties as possible. I would try my best to protect my co-worker as well as the surrounding civilians in the incident whilst waiting for backup to arrive.

What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
First, I’d figure out a way to obtain proof of my co-worker doing such things via body cam, recording from a phone, or via CCTV cameras scattered around the city. After obtaining proof, I would immediately inform a high up or a supervisor about it, giving them detailed information of their actions as well as the proof of the officer being corrupt.

How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?

I’d personally be slightly pissed as they thought they’d be able to bribe me into breaking the laws, I’d obviously deny such things and continue to do my job. If a criminal were to offer cash or any other valuable items in order for me to not arrest them, I’d deny the offer without hesitation and still follow police orders and the law.

DENIED
Thank you for applying for KPD. Unfortunately, the higher-up team and I
have decided to deny this application. Most times it is simply due to the fact that
there are more suitable applicants, so feel free to give it another shot on the next cadet wave!
