The Creation of the Clan

In his youth, Datenshi Akihito had formerly been a thug of Japan’s most esteemed Yakuza family; “Yamaguchi-Gumi”. After serving the said family for a short, yet loyal period of two months, he discovered the secrets of Yamaguchi-Gumi. Uncovering the truth; that the family had been unlawful to the sworn Yakuza code, Datenshi fled for his life. While he may have been loyal, his sudden withdrawal painted him as nothing but a deceitful traitor. Constantly looking over his back, having to watch each and every move he made as his former gang chased down his trail like a predator after prey. In order to lay low from the bloodthirsty gang he’d abandoned, Datenshi entered Karakura and furthered his education there.

During his stay, Datenshi retired from his old delinquent ways and decided to live an average civilian life. Opening a small gift shop, and as time went on, he matured; running a nightclub with the support of his wife whom he’d met during his retirement. Alongside the life Datenshi “Mike” Akihito had been living, he watched Yamaguchi-Gumi die down. As his former gang continued to weaken, he begun a new. Choosing to start a Family-Clan of his own: “The Akihito Family,” under the newly instated 7th Chairman Tsukuro Senda. No longer did he fear for his life, able to rise up into positions of power and leadership. The creation of the “Akihito Clan” and his plan to continue to climb the ranks; in hopes of eventually becoming the 8th Chairman of the Yakuza.

After the initial creation of the Clan, Datenshi was the only one set out to recruit members. Not advertising the Yakuza to the public yet, it was a grueling task. No one seemed fit enough for the job. That was until one faithful individual stepped up, showing not only his physical and mental strength but his loyalty. Having been following the Clan from its beginning, observing Datenshi as he grew and rose into power; The Akihito Clan gained their first ever recruit; Isamu Kadoya.

In desperate need of members, Datenshi tasked Isamu with recruitment. From two to five to ten to twenty members, the task itself was running smoothly. Up until the point of being ready to run itself without the constant need of Datenshi’s supervision. Just as any other Yakuza, hierarchical ranks were set forth. Starting with Thug to Soldier to Lieutenant to Captain and then the highest of them all, the Patriarch. Lieutenants looked over the soldiers who also did the same with the thugs, keeping everything organized and properly working. Members increased not only throughout Karakura, but all throughout Japan, reaching an upwards of 5,000 in its total. Though, Datenshi wished to keep Karakura’s numbers relatively low, for reasons that no one but the Patriarch himself would know. Within Karakura, members were more focused on business and clearing the streets that were riddled with street crime and random violence. While those outside of Karakura focused on both the legal and illegal sides of businesses while keeping the streets clean.

As the Akihito Clan grew, members in the lower ranks were set out to put claim over other businesses and partner up with them in order to grow in not only numbers, but in power. Showing the good side, the reputation of aiding the community and average citizens of Karakura. Staking their claims over specific hot spots, making sure everyone in town knew that places like 11/7, the Skatepark, and the Family Store were Akihito Turf. That was until the renovation of an old, abandoned Asylum. Now known to a majority of the public as the Akihito Clan Office, protective services and loans are made available to each and every citizen willing to work with the Clan.

Set forth with the intentions to help out the community, Datenshi realized that a symbol to show who was the good in Karakura needed to be created. A small pin, with nothing more than a Dragon wrapped around itself etched in gold was given to every trusted member of the Clan. Many question the use, or the actual meaning behind the design. Was it made on a whim? Does it quite simply just look cool? Dragons are the protectors of mankind; powerful and wise guardians that shield those from universal dangers. A symbol of good fortune, happiness, offering strength and courage at each important turning point in one’s life. And so with the Akihito Clan’s objective being to protect Karakura’s residence from all the evil that lies within, the dragon was chosen.

All of this being put to the test on August 29th, 2021. A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck the island of Karakura, wrecking sidewalks, collapsing bridges, and even a few homes. The Akihito Clan using their office space as a shelter, setting up medical and food tents, and having EMS on standby for anyone who was in need. Clan members staying there day in and day out in order to make sure that every member of the community was getting the basic necessities that were needed. Finally, a group of people since the rise of crime within the town that was there simply to help people, right?

Ever since then, the Akihito Clan has kept their reputation and succeeded in their goal of helping people. Using their protection services, loan giving, and partnerships with businesses to make not only a name for themselves, but decrease the amount of crime wasting away at the streets. Sure some people had their dislike for the Patriarch, or even the entire Clan itself, but no one group can please everyone. A positive and respected stature throughout the entire town. Leaders from different factions showing their support for the great Akihito Clan. Nevertheless, everyone has their secrets. There’s always more than what meets the eye.

What more is there to the Akihito Clan than the public knows? How is it possible for them to sweep things so easily under a rug? And, who is Datenshi Akihito? How is it that such a regular guy could come into a place riddled with crime and create the most known group within a year? What was the secret he discovered? And why was it so atrocious that the Yamaguchi-Gumi was forced to chase down a regular thug?

Was good while it lasted, taught me to appreciate my time and taught me how to roleplay better. That was what I wanted too. A place to learn, a place to play a place to create. Going back through and checking it all through. This community really tried. Not only were they active, but they roleplayed well. That OOC standard for good detailed roleplay and p2l really influenced my preferences, which is not to say that rolling RP in combat is bad, I think it's great. It's just not as creative. Akihito was a place where creative people were able to get together and thrive. It's crazy how long the gang stayed going, especially since I was only a part of the group for a couple months before the downfall.
