Diseases/Illness/Injuries:
⊹⊱«♡»⊰⊹
Ivy was diagnosed with Anxiety at the age of 5. Her first anxiety attack was when she was little, around the age of 4. Her family was together at that point and didn't think anything of it. It was until they went to the doctor for a check-up that they did some tests, coming out as her having anxiety. A little over 1 year passed and she started some school. The teacher soon realized she couldn't spell, or read correctly. They did some more tests and soon figured out she was dyslexic. As well as her body being diagnosed with anxiety and dyslexia, she was also founded with ADHD. Early in her teen years, many teachers and friends noticed her up-pumped energy. Took some more tests, and came out with ADHD.
Ivy was also allergic to birds, multiple plants, and feathers. Ivy lived with her sister Mara, owning a lot of plants in their apartment. She planted multiple plants and her apartment would be filled with plants and leaves. One day she brought home a certain plant, not knowing what it was, she soon got very itchy in her arms and was sneezing a lot. As Ivy had taken multiple tests before, she took another and found out she wasn't just allergic to that certain plant, there were also birds and feathers. She would get very hot near any breed of bird, feather, or even that plant. Multiple signs showed allergies, and she has lived with them for most of her life.
Ivy had broken her right knee around a year ago, due to falling or being pushed off the lighthouse. Many people had witnessed it, yet had no guts to do anything about it. Once she got taken to the hospital, she was checked in right away and soon her leg would have been fixed. (More details about the injury in Tattoo/Scarrings)
Tattoos/Scarrings:
⊹⊱«♡»⊰⊹
Ivy has multiple special and honoring tattoos. One of them was made by Xiomara K. Urrutia. An enlarged snake would be inked onto the left side of her ribcage which had trailed underneath the side of her breast. Another smaller tattoo that was made by herself was the word: "Ivy" behind her right ear. There was a small vine of flowers wrapping around the lettering. One of the simpler tattoos that she has had was a small crescent moon on the wrist of her left hand, representing her mom.
Scarrings would have been placed, not on purpose, but all over the female's body. One, in particular, was from the blade of a sharp katana on her right shoulder, made around a year ago and had been healed but still left a mark. Around a year ago, Ivy was thrown off half of the lighthouse. In the event, she only broke one of her legs. Her right leg had been punched open as the bone stuck straight out of her kneecap. The flesh and blood gushed until you couldn't even see the skin color around her wound. She soon got confronted at the hospital where she had got healed up by one of the doctors there.
Another event was her enlarged scar on the whole side of her left leg. The scar on the female's left leg had been from when she and her older brother were sparring in the woods. The spar was at night, and not in a safe area. She had gotten taken away from her brother, as the midnight sky blackened the area. The person stealing Ivy cut her whole thigh, and as her leg moved, the wound spilled all the way to her hip and shin. The person had dropped her into the hot springs before she could call for help. As Trip, the brother carried through on helping his sister, the mysterious form that stole her ran off and never returned. It forever stayed unknown and the whole family still questions it to this day. The scar did become close to healing but would still open from time to time. It traveled all the way from her hip bone to the very middle of her shin. As the scar healed, she wore jeans to cover it, but most of the jeans she owned had rips in the denim so that you could notice the scar. Ivy says it's like an enlarged worm, crawling up and down her leg. As she walked, it moved up and down, and you could see her kneecap shifting ever so slightly, definitely not normal.
The Backstory of Different Parts of Her Life
⊹⊱«♡»⊰⊹
Ivy is a Spanish-Japanese female with many languages learned. As a kid, she spent time learning Korean, Russian, and Spanish.
Growing up, Ivy's adoptive mother would always speak Korean to her when visiting. This is because her mother was raised to speak Korean and Spanish, not English. She always wanted to keep that tradition going, which is why Ivy's grandmother also knows Korean. When Ivy turned seven her adoptive mother got her her own Korean tutor, so she could speak it the traditional way. After two years of learning, she was nearly fluent.
When Ivy turned thirteen, she got sent to a Korean boarding school. Here she got fluent friends and continued speaking Korean a lot. And she still does.
As well as growing up in a Korean family, she also grew up with Spanish. Her cousin Katalina Martino was her only real family figure. She grew up with her and Katalina's adoptive parents, Belgium Martino and Aviee Martino. Katalina was more like a sister than a cousin. The Martino Family took Ivy under their wing as they were taking care of only Kataline at the moment. After a while, the Martinos sent Ivy away to live in Japan with a different family.
Even though Ivy didn't remember much of her birth family, she did know that she had a sister and a brother. They ran away after the parents both ran off. The father was an abuser and treated the family like they weren't his. Once the father ran away, taking all of the most important belongings, like the money they were saving for Ivy's school and food, and most of the food in the house. The mother soon realized he was never coming back, and therefore left Ivy with nothing but herself and her siblings. Once the siblings noticed that it wasn't just a day of work more like a couple of weeks worth of work, they ran off taking everything they had left. Ivy sat in her room, in the corner crying for more than 48 hours. The Martinos came over at that point, giving Ivy the news of her mother had died, due to a terrible car accident with her father. Her father had killed the mother, making a traumatic experience. She doesn't usually share her emotions with others from this point forward.
The Martinos were a fluent Spanish-speaking family, and they knew the basics of Korean. They made a promise to each other to teach their own languages so they could learn. The Martinos taught Ivy how to speak more Spanish and Ivy taught them how to speak more Korean. Even though Ivy’s birth parents spoke fluent Spanish and her father was born Hispanic, Ivy didn’t know much of the language. She learned for a while, while her parents fought. She learned some of the basics so she could tell why they were fighting. She caught along to learning languages fast, except when she got diagnosed with dyslexia, and that's when she stopped learning. Until she arrived at the Martinos. After arriving at the Martinos, they had the chance to give Ivy off to a loving family, the Murphys. Matcha Murphy was a cop in Karakura and had plenty of cousins and family in the area. Matcha doesn't come around much, but when she does she is usually on duty. Whenever Ivy gets a chance to talk to her she does and spills all the latest news about what she missed.
Ivy was almost 6 when her brother came into her life. Her older brother, Trip Martino, was an exchange student. He, later on, moved to Russia a year before her parents left her. After a while passed, he came back. As well as him coming back, Trip learned Russian and showed Ivy how to speak it fluently. Early on in life, Ivy's grandfather spoke Russian, so Ivy only had a slight taste of what it was. When he was around, she would say small phrases but of course, they never came out correctly. When Trip came back, he had spoken Russian for almost a year without Ivy knowing. Ivy had to search up how and what words were being said and how to respond to them, never always right, but close enough. Though Trip taught Ivy how to speak Russian, her grandfather did as well. Her grandfather, when he was around, would quiz Ivy and her cousin on many different types of words in Russian. It was a game every time they played. Birdie and her cousin still play to this day. Trip was like Ivy's tutor, teaching her almost every word in Russian. After almost 5 years of practicing, Ivy turned 14 and Trip got her a book before he left again for Russia. She studied for almost a full year not only to be able to understand others but to do it for her own benefit. She looked up to her brother and wanted to be just like him. Russia made her connect not only with Trip but with her grandfather and the rest of her family. Russian helped her pass classes in high school and hopefully help her get a job later on in life. Ivy still speaks Russian to this day, and hopefully learns more languages along the way!
Ivy’s parents got into a fight when she was around 5. Her mother ran away after her father abused and abandoned them. Therefore, Ivy had to be taken care of. As well as Ivy’s main family spoke Spanish, as she grew up with it, Ivy’s adoptive parents did. Ivy will forever remain a Martino and a Murphy.
