☆ Describe your activity on the server:
I've been part of SchoolRP since late 2024, I joined mid college year and it quickly became part of my life. I currently started a new study, but it gave me a few free days due to already having finished certain stuff, which gives me time to be active! While I do work, I'm ready to dedicate a lot of my free time to EMS. I would describe myself as a well rounded and an active player that has explored SRP through multiple perspectives, learning about the server that way and create stories with my characters. While I have taken breaks from SRP here and there due to school, I've always returned to my normal activity after.

I have been part of the build team and it was such a honour. I loved doing events and I've done a few permanent builds. The team is full of talented people and I really enjoyed working with them and still talk to some of them till this day. I've really improved my building and learned new techniques. This is a completely different side of SRP that has allowed me to express my creativity in so many ways. I've gotten better and faster and I truly love the build team.
Outside I also spend a lot of time on creative hobbies, think of tailoring skins and creating art for the community. I've also found a new love for creating custom Minecraft GUI'S and made plenty for the community to enjoy.

☆ What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
Out of SRP
My first roleplay experience was when I just got Minecraft Java in 2015, starting in a city roleplay server. I stayed within that community for a while, doing a lot of stuff, mostly playing in their police faction. While their police faction was the one where I dedicated most my time to, doing tests and then eventually becoming part of their SWAT team. I've also done other stuff, like mundane roles, farmer, fisher and so on and I've also taken on bigger roles, being a judge and helping with the creation of laws. Roleplay back then was very different from what I'm used to today, but that's where it started for me, hopping as soon as I got home from school.
I created my first Roblox account in 2017 and moved my roleplay there. There were multiple school roleplays I joined and some people I met there, I'm still friends. I started in a modern setting of roleplay, but after a while I moved to more fantasy related roleplays, particularly ones inspired by Lord of the Rings. I've roleplayed on Roblox till 2019, due to losing interest in the game all together. This is also the time I started taking a break from roleplay.
But then in 2020 I was introduced to Dungeons & Dragons, that's when fantasy roleplay became really big for me. Covid gave us a lot of time to spend indoors, it started with sessions being hosted through Discord, ranging from fantasy to completely homebrew games. Sessions often lasted six hours or even longer. D&D is what introduced me to long form storytelling and character development. I've played many characters there, some being shorter lived, others used to play in multiple campaigns. I loved seeing my D&D characters being levelling up, develop relationships and have a lot of character development. It started out as being confused with what it is, to being full days spending my time thinking of what to do next campaign and even trying my own short campaigns. When COVID restrictions started disappearing, D&D started becoming a real life thing, meeting up in weekends, my first real life experience with roleplay, rather than online. I enjoyed it so much, I joined my local board game shop that hosted games frequently.
I've been a really big Star Trek fan for a while, starting to watch with my dad and finishing all movies and series around it. I've started collecting posters, figurines and other miscellaneous stuff related to Star Trek. This is where my love for sci-fi really grew. I met several other people that shared this interest and we created our own Minecraft server based around it. Building our own ships and even making stupid videos for a series. While we didn't do it frequently, it was a really big part of how I returned to Minecraft Roleplay.
Outside of these big things I've done other small roleplay stuff, but none that are really worth mentioning. I have recently been reintroduced to D&D, returning to some groups and I have a new found love for story games, certainly where my decisions impact how the game ends.
Within SRP
2023 is when I wanted to do more Minecraft roleplays and that's when I found SchoolRP, my D&D life died down a bit and I really wanted to RP. I joined SRP as Jerry Fitz, this is the character where I got accustomed to the server and started understanding. Once I became more comfortable with roleplay and more knowledgeable about the server and I moved on to a more serious character named Mitchell, which I still play actively today. I have had many characters since then, giving me the opportunities to see many factions and perspectives of SchoolRP, which has helped me a lot in my roleplay. SRP gave me a creative outlet and introduced me to many of my friends, that I also talk outside of SRP with.
I've done many things on SRP
CLUBS
My first club was the gardening club, I only faced time zone issues, with made it really difficult to attend meetings and meet other players. I tried to stay as involved as I can, doing the tasks I was asked to and filling in logs. I really did make an effort to stay engaged, but my interactions were so limited that I've decided to step away. Today the gardening club is closer to my time zone, so I might return. I was also shortly part of the photography club, didn't even need an application to join after I helped build an event on the roof for it. It was really short lived though, as it wasn't very official and I wasn't able to get my quota fully. The club I was the longest part of is the occult club. I was accepted as an official member, where I attended and hosted meetings. I've engaged with the club as much as I could, as these were my friends inside and outside of SRP. I loved being able to help with the storytelling and the detailRP I was given here. Eventually I joined council and joined occult club as a supervisor, where we did lots of fun events. My character stood out in personality, yet I still fit in well with the group. This was one of my favourite times on SRP.
CRIMERP
I've been part of quite a few gangs throughout my SRP life, though I've always approached it in a more narrative driven way. I prefer P2L over rolling situations in combat, where the emphasis is on realism. I've always been more of a fan of storytelling of a character than give it over to luck. I've tried many different gangs, yakuza's, racing gang's and just without a gang CriminalRP. I was very shortly part of fight club, but they caught me at the busiest time of the year, it was accepted like 4 months after I applied. Currently I'm in no gangs, but my interest lies within DelinquentRP, so I'm hoping I can start that up somehow.
EMS
Yess! I've been part of EMS already. My favourite faction so far and the very first faction I joined. It gave me a complete new perspective and not just the roleplay, but also the community. I never thought I would get accepted then, but here we are. It has been a very rewarding experience on SRP. It has taught me to work under pressure, whereas before I couldn't. I was part of it for almost a year, before I had to quit. I slowly fell behind and I trusted other players could be more active in the meantime.
COUNCIL
College council required a different type of engagement I haven't done before. I made friends with pretty much the entirety of council and I really enjoyed contributing in my own way. It has given me a fun few roleplays while it lasted. I really enjoyed building lots of our events and abusing my power as a corrupt councillor. The reason for leaving was due to my character having to move on.
Overall, I've been involved with roleplay in some shape or form for 11 years now. I've done a lot, from different games to real life D&D campaigns. Each has been different, but they all have contributed in the way I roleplay today. Roleplay has remained few of the hobbies that I find myself returning to, even if I temporarily take a break from it. I think the biggest reason for this is that I love storytelling, there is always a new character to create or another type of story to join in.
☆ What is your motivation for applying?
I've already had the chance to experience EMS, being part of the faction as a Psychiatrist before and because of that, I'm applying with already having knowledge of being part of the factions with the responsibilities to the roles. Since I left the faction I've had a lot of time to explore different fields and places on SchoolRP, being part of a different faction and having different characters, trying new things, this way I gained even more experience. I do not regret branching out, it has made me much better as a roleplayer than I originally was, though EMS contributed to it a lot. Though, branching out has made me appreciate certain parts of the Hospital Faction that I couldn't think while I was part of it for the firts time. It is surprisingly easy to take a faction for granted when you're part of it. Only after leaving I realize how much I enjoyed the high pressure environments and the opportunities it gave me. I genuinely miss logging onto the server where I don't have to invent something, a patient entering can already be an entire roleplay scenario.
This time around I'm applying to doctor rather than repeating my previous experience as a Psychiatrist. I absolutely loved being a psych and that's the department that gave me the first proper experience of the faction, but I think I want to try something new in a familiar faction than repeat it. The faction has also seen many changes since I was last part of it and I hope to be reintroduced to it. EMS roleplay also gives me a reason to put effort into DetailRP, which I genuinely enjoy within the faction. There is a great difference between simply writing how to treat an injury and also giving the patient to roleplay, I enjoyed that part a lot. I want to return the effort that people put their effort into. The hospital is genuinely one of the best, if not the best placed where DetailRP has an actual purpose, not just making the actions longer, it helps detailing communication. I also enjoy RP the way I've been giving something to respond to. I don't want my character to exist solely to complete the procedures and have them be an actual character. When just joining the faction I struggled with that, but later on I did not and it made me enjoy my character so much more. Everything I've been involved with in the SRP community has given me many interactions, that way I've become so much more comfortable approaching and starting roleplay instead of waiting someone else to do for it and I'd like to bring that mentality into EMS. The faction really depends on cooperation of different departments and some scenarios require multiple people. These interactions is what I love, I like that type of structure, being part of a group where each individual character shows their strengths while functioning of being of something larger.
There is also the OOC community behind the faction, it's not just about the role. When I first joined this faction I was joining another group of players on the server with the same interest and the social faction has become increasingly important to me. Some of my favourite experiences on SRP was because I was introduced to people who I thought I'd otherwise never interact with. Returning will give me the opportunity to reconnect with the environment and meeting the current people that joined after I left. I am genuinely interested in how the faction has changed. I do not expect it to be the same as I joined and I consider that a positive thing. Think of different leaderships and people, which can change a faction a lot and their vibe. Rather than returning, because I expect everything to be as I remember it, I want to experience it as it's now and be part of the community once more.
Another motivation for me is having something meaningful to dedicate my activity towards. I enjoy SRP more when I have a reason to log on, that's not just standing/running around. The faction gives me goals, responsibilities and more people to interact with. I always felt like every interaction is different, times can be calm and other times it can have a rush hour and that variation makes the role interesting. It also gives me room to continue learning outside of what is strictly necessary for the application, I enjoy the researching part of EMS, while as a doctor I imagine I have to do it less, I still enjoy learning and growing when I see something I haven't seen before. Learning terminology and understanding why and how a procedure is performed and that way becoming more confident with medical roleplay would all improve the quality of scenes I can provide and my own knowledge. While I already possess knowledge from the past, I am mostly applying because I want an environment that encourages me to improve it. I've already experienced EMS and I left due to being busy, mental health and I think other people that were more motivated at the time also deserve to get to know the faction, I was never planning to stay away forever. I've found the time again and I'm further in my life and I know I can put my time and effort back into the faction, that's why I wanted to come back. I've never quit because I didn't like it anymore, I know the expectations and I know that being in a faction means training, activity requirements, being part of a community and doing occasionally stuff that are less exciting, but none of that makes me less interested in the faction. I found myself willing to return as a roleplayer and as a.. I hope.. more improved version of myself. There is plenty of roles I could pursue, but EMS is one of the few I have repeatedly found myself thinking about it and I want another opportunity to contribute to it and this time as a Doctor. I already had my chance to see what the faction was like, but I do miss it, a lot.
TL;DL I love ems, but had to quit due to being busy and other stuff, I want to come back for community and roleplay opportunities

SECTION 1: PERSONAL DETAILS
☆ Character’s Full Name:
Stepped into the room, before he dipped his chin one, cyan strands of hair slipping forward with the movement. Once the interviewer had properly settled, he took hold of the chair's backrest and dragging it back to seat himself. His back straight against it, but that only lasted for a few seconds, before he shifted into a more comfortable position, crossing one leg over the opposite. His hands followed, fingers clasping together. "My full name is Asahi Seki." Two fingers caught a lose strands and pushed it back into a neat position. "Seki being the family name."
[Asahi Seki]
☆ Character’s Gender and Pronouns:
The head tilted slightly, the golden earrings followed that hung beside his jaw. Two fingers raised to reach to one of the earrings and adjusted it between two fingers. "Male. He and Him" The answer came right before a small nod, only for him to lose eye contact, the paper on the desk catching his attention. "I'm comfortable being referred to a man, I believe." The last sentence came out hesitant, there was more on his mind, but this was not the situation. He found eye contact again and offered a smile.
[Male & He/Him]
☆ Character’s Age (if accepted):
Lips had parted, but didn't answer. His shoulders slowly closed in as if the questions was an incredibly complicated math question. "Twenty Seven." His expression soured "Which sounds significantly worse out loud." He uncrossed his legs, only to cross them the other way around, fingers slightly drumming against his thigh. "I don't mind getting older, just people noticing I am getting older." He fished something out of his pocket and pushed it across the table, it was an ID.

☆ Character’s Academic Background:
The expression on Asahi's face lit up. He uncrossed his legs and planted both feet properly against the floor, his expression became more attentive as his hands folded together between his knees. "Doctorate." His thumb pressed against one of the rings he had on. "When I was younger, medicine was never an option I considered." He stopped his sentence there, deciding if he should explain more, but decided against it. "I eventually realised that wanting to help people is what I want." He was quite proud of where he is sitting now, his expression softening.
[PhD in Medicine & Specialisation Internal Medicine]
☆ Character’s Nationality:
The hand that was twisting the ring travelled to his jaw. "Japanese and Filipino." The hand lowered as his shoulders lifted into a small shrug "I was born in Japan, but I have Filipino heritage as well and something I've remained connected to." He leaned slightly forward, taking a closer look of the person before him.
[Japanese & Filipino]
☆ Character’s Marital Status:
There was silence in the air after that question, he leaned back into the chair. "Single." He nodded once. "Next question, please." A moment passed before Asahi realised that telling the interviewer to move on during their interview was probably less than ideal, so his lips pressed together before speaking up. "Sorry. Single is accurate. I was engaged previously, but that has ended." His gaze wandered toward the edge of the desk
[Single]
☆ Character’s Religious Denomination:
The next question seemed to loosen some of the tension that was left behind from the previous question. He gave a soft exhale and settled his hands on his legs. "I practice both Shinto and Buddhism. I'm Syncretic." His hands opened slightly, following the conversation. "Shinto is the most present in my ordinary life."
[Shinto & Buddhism]
☆ Character’s Spoken Languages:
A hand rose between them, a black painted index finger extended as the first finger. "Japanese, native." The second finger popped up. "Filipino, fluent." His third finger rose, before dropping it to his side, changing his mind in that moment. "I will actually refuse to embarrass myself by pretending I know a third language, because I don't."

☆ Character Backstory (Optional):
[Summer and winter]
Asahi was born 3rd of January, 1999. The Seki household was loud in these times, not in arguments, but with ordinary noise. His father a mechanic, always repaired things around the house with this quiet melody that stuck with Asahi. Before bed, his mother always read a book out loud towards him, even when he fell asleep, she finished the chapter. Loved by two parents, both of Japanese descend, living in residential district outside the Sendai, Miyagi prefecture. Seven years they sat at the table and ate dinner together, celebrated birthdays, went on vacation that Asahi could barely remember. He was always picked up from school right on time and love was bright. He spent most of his early childhood being a normal child, running, scraping his knees, not knowing other children's names, yet calling them his best friend. Energy filled the hallways and he was endlessly curious. His sister, Mio Seki arrived during autumn when Asahi was seven. Asahi saw her for the first time, she was impossibly small, but his mother told him she'd grow strong and he couldn't wait to play with her and his toy cars. He adored her when she slept in the crib, wrapping his fingers onto the crib's bars when he leaned over her. Asahi proudly introduced himself as the older brother. Mio just turned two and hospital visits were already routine by that time, they started short, then became longer each time they arrived, a rare congenital heart defect. Asahi saw the change in the instant and understood something was wrong, his mother stopped reading before his bedtime and his father didn't hum that melody anymore. Nobody forgot Asahi, if anything, forgetting him would've been easier on him. People praised him for being young and mature and thanked him for understanding, they felt less like compliments and more like expectations. The young boy had to learn to prepare breakfast for himself and after school he had to walk home alone. Asahi hated the hospital, every part of it, but he hated himself more whenever the resentment slipped towards the person lying in bed, no, he could never hate Mio, he didn't blame her for it, not once. Every time Asahi saw his sister, Mio would smile and wave despite all the hardships she has to endure, he sat next to her and told all about his school and she'd ask about it.
[Glass Child]
He entered high school and home always felt so cold, it wasn't anybody's fault, but every time he spoke to his parents it was about medication, appointments and whatnot Mio has to endure. One day, on a nice day, Asahi said screw it and walked past his house, he was going to go home, but he couldn't help himself and walk past it. He reached their local station and bought a ticket for the first train that would arrive. For two days he was somewhere else in Japan, alone, with almost nothing with him, except the school books of the day he left. The first night he couldn't sleep at all, throwing his phone in the trash after it kept lighting up with calls. He couldn't go back home and eat dinner alone at the cursed table, while his parents were with Mio. Asahi's parents called the police and he was put as missing, one of the patrol officers found him sitting on the stairs in front of some random building. The officer identified the boy with one glance and didn't ask any questions, he offered Asahi a coffee. It was the most terrible thing he ever tasted, he never drank coffee, before that day. The officer introduced himself as Kenta, there was no first name. For the first time in a while, someone listened to him without praising him. Asahi knew that his parents couldn't help it, would he have been any different if he was older with a sick child? Kenta replied that they weren't doing their best for Asahi. He followed Kenta home without hesitation, he was brought back home and his parents hugged him tightly, apologising profusely. The officer, Kenta and Asahi became life long, they met for coffee and talked a lot, basically an unofficial mentor.
[Saving himself]
It was obvious, once he was old enough to apply for colleges, criminal justice is the first thing he searched for. With what Kenta has done for him and meant to him is exactly what Asahi wanted to become for another 15 year old, waiting for somebody to notice them. It was a goal he held on for years and Asahi isn't very good at letting things go. That plan had to begin during his early twenties. While Asahi's family had always been fairly traditional, being also slightly above average economically, because of that his parents cared about reputation and stability. After everything with Mio, the concern that their children would be alright was somewhat overbearing. This is how a [Redacted] entered his life. The parents never intended to force him into marrying a stranger, they just wanted Asahi to end up with somebody suitable. They knew their son longer than today and knows how intensely he can attach himself to people if left entirely to himself. The woman they chose seemed perfect to them. She was educated and most importantly pursuing medicine, working in Psychiatry to be exact. With Mio's condition, his parents adored the idea of Asahi marrying somebody who understands hospitals and illnesses. He was exactly 20 when he met the girl and entered the arrangement, unfortunately they got along. What started something arranged between their families, she wasn't somebody Asahi tolerated, but someone he can genuinely love. The arrangement turned into an actual engagement that he wanted for himself. She actually changed the direction of his education, he began hearing about medicine outside of the context he'd always known it, she spoke about it differently and had him hooked, especially the diagnostic side of medicine. There was something deeply fun about collecting information and finding inconsistencies to narrow down possibilities. Criminal Justice was chosen by 15 year old Asahi, because he wanted to become Kenta, Medicine was the first career the adult Asahi felt he had discovered himself and then he just decided to quit Criminal Justice to move to Medicine and began clinical training. During these years, the relationship with the arranged became less simple. The intensity he had for her was not always kindness, the longer they were together, the more terrified he became of losing her. The obsessiveness became suffocating and if she wanted space, he wanted to know why. He started treating the relationship like one of his diagnoses, but people aren't diagnoses. At 25, after roughly five years of being engaged, she left, just disappeared one day when he woke up. The engagement ended before there could ever be a marriage. He buried himself into medicine, it was easier to occupy his mind. That's it, he couldn't be here anymore. He ran away too, far away, way too far away to, searching for new opportunities. Would Mio be okay with this?

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
☆ What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
The choice was to specialise in Internal Medicine, particularly on its focus on diagnosing and treating conditions affecting adults. He was drawn toward medicine due to the people around him, rather than anything particular. Once Asahi decided to pursue medicine, he wanted his eventual speciality to become something he had chosen independently, because the rest was introduced by others. Internal Medicine appealed to the way he naturally things. He doesn't enjoy just be given a symptom and treating it. He wants to know why and how it has happened. Patients presenting something seemingly simple can have a lot of explanations and narrowing those possibilities down is a process that was satisfying to Asahi, There is an answer and he wants to find it. The obsessive attention to detail can be useful within the speciality, but he has difficulty simply dismissing something that doesn't fit in with the rest of the information. He likes keep on asking and double checking the results, maybe there is more going around than the thing they came in for, several diagnoses are possible. Though, sometimes good clinical judgement matters more than what is satisfying to Asahi, meaning he has to sometimes let it go and start treatment before all the uncertainty has disappeared. Internal Medicine also gives a lot of variety, not restricted to one single illness and patients might need completely need different approaches. The broad foundation of medical knowledge is something he enjoys and it requires to continuously expand his knowledge. There was also a decision to not follow paths of the people who introduced him to medicine. cardiology would have placed him uncomfortable situation that is too close that defined so much of his life, and psychiatry felt too close to his (ex-)fiance.
☆ Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Yes, Asahi has previous experience in medical positions, mostly form his education and clinical training that is required of becoming a Doctor, because he is relatively early in his professional career. His first practical exposure was through the clinical placement during medical school. He had to work under supervision in an hospital environment. This placement allowed him to experience different areas of medicine and interact with patients, it's just a way to become accustomated to learn how different things operate. After he completed his medical education, he continued his postgraduate clinical training with emphasis on adult medicine. This way his responsibilities increased. He worked along experienced doctors who taught him a lot. He has therefore dealt with real patients in real clinical environments before applying to Karakura Hospital, but he would not consider himself an experienced Doctor. He is twenty-seven and understands qualifications doesn't give him experience over someone who has been there longer, but if anything, that bothers him. Not knowing something can be frustrating and one of the previous work experience has repeatedly forced upon him is that asking a more experienced colleague for another opinion is considerably safer.

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
☆ Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
LOOKS
The very first thing noticeable is his striking cyan hair, with a black ombre effect, the black being part of his natural hair. It grows past beyond his shoulders with layers, often worn in unique styles. The hair itself being unruly, but Asahi doesn't allow that, every moment he can he checks the mirror or the camera of his phone to fix drifting strands. He cannot let it be if it feels wrong, his hair is supposed to look slightly messy, but it just needs to be correct. Asahi's face is long with prominent cheekbones that soften towards the jaw. The facial features have something pitiful about them. The large eyes responsible for looking a little sad, naturally drooping to the side. It's his resting face, he can be having a great day and still look like someone died. The eyes are naturally dark brown, but those are barely seen, due to the fact Asahi wears blue coloured contacts. While all the cool tones on him look artificial, his skin isn't. He has a warm coloured skin filled with sunspots that spread over his cheeks, mostly under his eyes, that's the only thing that feels imperfect, due to the way they are distributed, but he still likes them. Odd for the way Asahi can stress over the smallest thing in his appearance others barely would notice, but uneven marks are A-OK! The man is searching a certain image of himself. He is filled with accessories, the ears pierced with long golden earrings that hang beside his jaw. His hands are decorated with rings that are used as fidget toys in uncomfortable situations. The nails are painted black, adding some more contrast. Chipped polish will drive him insane, so he is obsessed with doing his nails. The clothes are the least interesting part of himself, he keeps them simple, just to make sure the eyes of people are drawn towards his face. Beneath the clothes are several tattoos, all concealed. Across his back lies a stylized flower piece and on his ribs are short Japanese proverbs, inked in fine calligraphy. Asahi's relationship with his appearance is very complicated, something satisfied with yesterday can suddenly become unbearable today. Photographs can especially be cruel, looking at them for hours, picking out every flaw by hand, but he wants people to look at him. He loves people looking at him, as long as they give compliments, hating the possibility of being judged.

PERSONALITY
Asahi at first can be sweet and attentive. He genuinely listens and remembers small details about the people, often noticing small changes. Being cared for by him starts out wonderful for some people, before it becomes A LOT. He has extreme attachment issues, if someone becomes important to him it's with frightening intensity. He wants to know everything and be around them at all times, pretty much like a puppy that follows you around and doesn't give you room to breathe. He needs evidence that the attachment is going both ways. Affection can become ugly, because Asahi notices things. Asahi can also worry good, he will worry about meaningless changes until the explanation he made in his head that hurts him. It's almost pathetic. He hovers around people, finds excuses to be with them and he always fishes for reassurance and then feels humiliated when he realizes what he is doing it. This insecurity can make him toxic. He keeps a score, with his extremely vindictive nature he keeps a little record of what people has done to him and find it often impossible to forgive. An apology can be accepted and he might say everything is fine, but his mind always drags him back to the wound in arguments, it never becomes irrelevant. At times even weaponizing how well he knows people. While he often regrets it after weaponizing, he doesn't stop. At times becoming possessive, if he can't have his friends it can become noticeably miserable. While he does often regret things, not every unhealthy thing he does innocent, at times wanting people to feel guilty. It's pathetic and unfair, but that's Asahi. His need for order only makes his problems worse, everything has to be correct, everything has a correct way of being done, at times redoing things over and over again until he considers it appropriate, even touching others peoples works to make it 'perfect'. OCPD is what chases him at every second. He thinks if he remembers everything, makes himself useful, looks attractive and give people enough affection, he won't become disposable and be left alone. It terrifies him to be alone. People are so difficult
(additional personality in the next question)
☆ How does your character act around the hospital?
While his personality can be a lot, where he starts functioning well is when there is a structure. Think of procedures that has to be followed, expectations he has to meet and responsibilities that are assigned, just a way where he can measure his own performance. As someone who has an excessive need for things to be done correctly, he takes his work very seriously. There is a certain comfort in knowing what's exactly is expected of him with an order. Asahi might be complicated outside of work, but surprisingly while on duty he tries to remain composed and difficult to openly provoke. He doesn't want his personal issues becoming someone else's medical issue. Even so, this doesn't automatically make him agreeable, as he can be extremely direct. Struggling with the idea that there is a proper time and place for opinion, especially when somebody makes a mistake. His honesty can become harsh and can cross directly into sounding rude. Though, professionalism does matter to him more than proving himself right, he'll try to argue his case and why he disagrees, but if he is in the wrong or the decision has been made by someone with authority, he will follow it. There is a chance that privately he things what he though would've been better, but in the hospital where patient care is, isn't somewhere he wants to do an ego contest. While he has high expectation of his colleagues, he has even bigger expectation of himself. There is a certain difficulty accepting 'good enough' from himself, everything has to be as perfect as it can be. Smaller details can receive far more attention than reasonably necessary and that's because he can't stand the idea that he overlooked something, it will bother him tremendously if he realizes he made a minor mistake. He does believe respect is built through effort and it should be earned by demonstrating that effort. He'll happily help somebody, though, even if they don't know anything. There is probably a lot of complaints that come from this game and getting him to admit he is wrong can get painful, but he genuinely values becoming better at work. Around patients, his attentive part really awakens, he wants to understand everything, before rushing people through treatment and he prefers mumbling to himself instead of silently performing a procedure on a patient. If a patient is not doing well or frightened, he'd rather give them something concrete to understand than offer reassurance he cannot guarantee. A returning patient might find Asahi asking about the injuries from last time. Having a patient recognize him/trust him satisfies something inside of him, for that reason he has an intense desire to be remembered. While Asahi does have difficulty forgiving and putting him in an environment like work in a hospital, doesn't really remove that flat, he'll try to understand and still work them on the work floor, just not outside of it, really trying to not let that grudge affect his judgement. Asahi isn't the best professional person, but he works extremely hard to be one.
☆ Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Asahi functions better with others, but there are situations where working without others suits him. He can complete tasks on his own and appreciates responsibilities just for him. It also gives him control over what he is doing. Though, complete independence for a long time can probably bring out less productive habits. A few of these habits are spending unnecessary amount of time to check his work and start hesitating about decisions he made. He can be stubborn and become to his interpretation of situation, but hearing other's reasoning forces him to reconsider his own, allowing colleagues to challenge him helps a lot. At the same time, teamwork can be difficult, because he has trouble giving up control. The need to learn to let things go is difficult, he can't help himself checking somebody else's work, which can become trust issues. Within the team, he often tries to learn everyone's strengths and weaknesses, just so he knows how to treat them. The personality makes working with others important for another reason. He can be overly absorbed in himself when he is alone and other people provide a necessary interruption to his processes. But all of this doesn't mean every task has to be turned into a group effort. So, if there is a bit balance between independence and cooperation he'll function best, it's just he would much rather work alongside people. Asahi doesn't need people to hold his hand, just people whose judgement he can respect and who are willing to rely on his.
