PLEA CHANGING ABILITY | not guilty -> guilty

Question is. Why? Why is it like that?
Does HU realize this is highly unconstitutional....?

This could be a case of Government Misconduct for putting people in jail for more than the maximum awarded jail time........

This situation is already worse than the ICly stance... Directly preventing to play your character even though the time has passed is just ruining their entire roleplay experience. Now that I have this information, I have no doubt why people are constantly pleading Guilty to their charges. It's not because they are or are not guilty, it's cause they are gonna be stuck there forever.... This is so disgustingly wrong.

Massive discouragement for people to even try NGPs and I have no idea why that is the case.
The reason it was introduced ages back was that if someone did win their not-guilty trial, we have no way to return the money they used for the bail. Since it gets taxpaid there's not much that can be done

Either way, I think this thread as a whole should hopefully be solved once trials resume, but this is not an IC issue. It's an OOC one. If anything, I think just allowing for people to change their pleas in the meantime should fix the issue, and it's something I've done in a few instances when asked directly
