As for a serious answer to the question, think of roleplay like playing pretend when you were a kid. You give yourself the role of a character you've created and try to pretend to be them ("Don't be yourself!"). For example I'm a pretty nice person OOCly but the current character I have tends to behave like a moody teenager. The biggest difference between writing and roleplaying is that roleplay is made of reacting to one another, one person says something, so you say something back or respond in some way while writing, you're doing all the work.
