#2 fun lore - the ACTUAL canon in-universe name for the plaza (/warp spawn) is "Karakura Travel Hub", players themselves just came up with the 'plaza' and it had staying power ever since.

The name never stuck so people referred to it as "spawn" and then eventually the "Plaza"
