Mumble (Proximity Chat)

Idk if this is already implemented yet but I think it would be pretty cool. I just have no idea if it is doable or not because I don't really know too much about proximity chat.

Are you suggesting something more quiet than whisper? We used to have "/ww" which had a 1 block radius, but it was removed likely due to it being excessively small and in some situations overpowered / unrealistic. This is just speculation on my part though, since it's been gone for more than a few years.

If you're wanting to mumble or say something under your breath ICly, then you can use "/me" or "/mec" to convey this; some people "/roll 20" to see if other characters hear it, but that's not a necessity.

Oh no I meant like a voice chat but it uses proximity. So the closer you are to someone in the server, the louder they are. It makes it easier to communicate.

Roleplaying through voice would cause a lot more of a hassle than it's worth; on top of players not using it (which would mean anybody that does would have to RP normally with anybody who doesn't), it would be difficult to validate anything that's been said ICly for the sake of assault / kill perms. There are also a lot of players who are uncomfortable with talking, and others who aren't allowed to be in call or listen to others.

If you're wanting to talk with other players through voice, try using one of the RPH Discord's OOC voice channels. Maybe you could find somebody else who's down to roleplay through voice with you, but I'm sure the majority of the server would rather stick to text.

we used to have a voice chat feature specifically for IC. it was basically discord but worked around ingame prox. It was a mess.

It would be cool though if @Ducks got Mylogo back on that and made it work for 1.16 EXCEPT! make it so it's used for ooc so that people don't need to use discord if they don't want to!

just imagine people romancerping in proximity chat and then 10 kids laughing while listening in

would not go well + it would be like pubg proximity chat during gangrp, dont think people wanna hear kids screaming after they get their carotid cut

There's people uncomfortable talking. There's people that will Ear**** the dam out of your ears. The toxic people. People that will use to speak OOCly. Including the struggle in taking evidence of something that was said.

Rip really?? That sucks, it would've been cool but its was unrealistic of me to think everybody would comply with the rules lol.

-1. No, they are plenty of reasons in which explain the exact reasoning this would not go well. I myself and it is a personal preference would not feel comfortable talking. Not only that but a factor of complications would follow through, and it is not even an opinion at this point it is inevitable and undeniably the truth.
