Opal is a lighthearted and happy person, she prides herself on being nice to others and being a kind person in general. While she has fairly good morals she is still uncomfortable and nervous around others. She is able to hold good conversations, miraculously. She is concerned with what others think, a deep rooted fear caused by her mother and grandparents. She is not self-deprecating though, furthermore she is confident within herself. She simply worries about what others think because she feels as if she needs to see what the world thinks of her. It is simply her being aware of others. Opal is an excited person, she tries to make her energy seem bright and comforting. She is successful with this even if she is uncomfortable. Overall she is an open and enjoyable person, an extrovert who loves talking to others.
Hobbies:
Opal enjoys cooking, it is considered her favorite hobby. She has excelled at this hobby for years as she taught herself. She also enjoys art, street art and graffiti to be specific. The excitement of doing murals and extraordinary artwork along building walls always made her happy, making it one of her favorite hobbies. She also enjoys writing even though her writing has dwindled over the past few months, she has many books that are written by herself. Despite how little she enjoys running she is quite into sports, though would never join a team at the school. Flaws:
Opal is harsh, despite being considered a kind person she has strict boundaries. People who go against her wishes or upset her will be subject to insulting words, some of which she does not even mean to say. She is not okay with disrespect and she finds it hard to calm down which leads to her lashing out. This can get even worse if she knows the person, because she would not expect such a thing from them. She absolutely refuses to address this flaw, though people rarely bring it up to begin with. Another flaw she has is her disliking of suicide and self harm. She has a harsh and angry view on this topic, of course she believes in mental health but she draws the line at self harm. She went through traumatic situations as a child and because of that she ended up believing people that do self harm or attempt suicide are seeking attention. She was never able to get over this anger towards them.
Phobias:
Opal has Pyrophobia, which she does acknowledge though only slightly. She is terrified of fire and will panic and overwhelm herself if she notices it. Anything related could set her off, from bonfires to gasoline. She will not always go into hysterics, often panicking silently instead. It will always be like walking on eggshells around the subject of fire though.
Skills:
Opal is an amazing cook, creating and preparing food is one of her greatest skills. She is also a great artist even though she cannot draw people nor animals. It is obvious she is passionate about her work and this shows.

>Rosalina Atilius; Opal finds Rosa’s bold and unforgiving attitude not only admirable but strong. Opal believes that Rosa is likely the strongest person she has ever met, and their friendship is very important to her. She looks up to Rosa for what she has done and what she continues to do which is stick up for herself and not follow others.

Sven: Opal has been friends with Sven for a long time, he was one of her first friends and he helped her social life blossom. Despite that she has not been able to see him often, or at all. She finds that he is distant and cold, while this does not bother her, she wishes she could be a better friend to him. She does not plan to reach out though she does want him to know he means a lot to her, and he is a good person despite how he may think of himself.
Rosa: Opal met Rosa during her current year in school, around springtime, despite that Opal feels close with Rosa. They have gone on many cherished adventures, through the sewers and the streets, and Opal is happy that she got to meet Rosa. Opal will always be there for Rosa, whenever possible, even if she has not always been there in the past. Opal hopes that Rosa is okay although she knows that Rosa is strong, she has also seen Rosa struggle.
Squables: Opal and Squables have been friends for quite a while, she met him during a gym class that was followed by a history lesson. They were not friends at first, Opal found him fairly rude actually, but they became friends after a day spent together. That day they spent almost the entire day together, with only a few fights happening. Since then, they have not spent nearly as much time together though they are still friends. Opal hopes Squables is okay, even though she is already certain he is.
Jayden: Opal met Jayden during her 11th year, he was one of her third or fourth friends. They met because Opal found that he was amazing at dodgeball, and as someone who enjoyed dodgeball at the time, she felt like she needed to tell him. After that point they became close friends, Opal showing him all her secret spots, Jayden leading her through the sewers. They had tons of fun, evening rooming together for a while. Their friendship fell off after a rough crush situation and while they stayed in each other's contacts - they rarely texted. Opal did not think of Jayden much after it all, she found him weak, in the end she blamed him for breaking up their friendship. She still hopes he is okay, just as long as he stays away from her.
Jax: Opal and Jax met because Opal felt like doing a good deed, she saw him and decided his hair cut was amazing - and that she needed to compliment him. So, she did, and she kept complimenting him, until he had to become friends with her. While they do not talk often, they have each other's phone numbers and greet each other when they see one another in public. Opal thinks he is a good person, and that while his life has been hard, he deserves to be happy.
Michael: Opal met Michael in the midst of all of the Mark drama, right before it all finished. They did not start off on the best terms but soon grew to be . . . alright with each other. While they rarely speak, Opal still cares about him. She knows he has had a rough time, with his girlfriends and with his friends. She knows overall he is a good person who at the very least tried to protect her and Verdi.
Kuro: Opal and Kuro are not, and likely will never be, friends. They met due to Opal spying on a few of Michael's friends to get information, where she learned he had a huge drinking problem and that him and his girlfriend broke up. Kuro saw her and greeted her. He offered to be a listening ear if she ever needed it and Opal still thanks him to this day. While she never took his offer Opal knows he is a good person, someone who deserves good things.
Holly: Opal met Holly through debate, though they were in several classes together before that. After that point they often greeted each other whenever they saw each other. They ended up in a drama class together and put on a large performance which included two others. Opal thinks Holly is stunning and with that she is smart. Overall, she is a great person. In the end Opal does not know her too well but she still wishes her well despite that.
Mark: Opal and Mark met in the worst situation imaginable, and Opal remembers it to this day. Despite the lies she has spread, she knows her and Mark met because he attacked Verdi and his siblings in front of her. They had a harsh relationship after that, with Opal constantly being rude to Mark and Mark attacking Verdi. At the time of this all happening she believed he was the worst creature to roam the earth, she believed he was cruel and awful. She began to like him after he showed her that he had settled his debt with what was formerly the Lynn's, that he would not be attacking her or her friends. Things changed even further when she went to his penthouse. They fell in love that night and ever since Opal has only seen the good in him. She found that people such as Verdi put her in danger, and Mark saved her.
Viridis: Opal met him during her current year, and they were quick to end up together, and then get in engaged. Opal did not think it was too quick at the time, at the time she thought he was the perfect mix of childish and brave. After their engagement ended, with Opal playing a small role in taking away his memories. She does not regret it. She found that their relationship was too fast and he was too childish, he was not brave but instead he was foolish. He put her in danger and had nothing to show for it. He knew nothing about her - he made her feel more alone than she had ever felt.
Willow: Opal was friends with her for only a short while, they had met during the same drama class where Holly and her preformed. She was included in that performance. They were not very close after that though they became more friendly after Opal was knocked out while standing a bit too close to Willow - as she was being attacked. Their friendship became almost nonexistent after Opal found out that Willow was friends with Cotton - a siter of Viridis and a liar. Opal finds that Willow is not able to protect herself, she is not willing to.
Iris: Opal and her were never, and will never, be friends. She is the sister of Viridis and the first time they met Iris insulted Opal, she stated that Opal was a liar for saying Mark would not be attacking them anymore. Opal was devastated, she could not believe Virdis's family was now attacking her. Since then, their relationship was simply Opal insulting her and Iris insulting back - even going as far as to threaten to hang Opal.
Cotton: Opal was never friends with Cotton, the first time they met was when Viridis introduced them. Opal was quite angry at the time, likely giving the wrong impression, since then Opal has found out that Cotton lied about multiple things which caused for Viridis to get put into dangerous situations. Opal hated Cotton for this, she believes that Cotton is only a liar and is awful in every way.
Julia: Opal and Julia met because Julia saw Opal in an odd spot and decided to climb up to her - they were soon caught by a chef and told to get down. This started their friendship and while they have not spoken after that moment Opal decided Julia was a really good person. She helped her meet a friend and furthermore found that Julia was just a good person.

Opal believes gender is a difficult topic, it is a very wide subject. There are many genders in Opal’s beliefs, she does not care about what others identify as and will respect them regardless. She does not debate on the topic, she refuses to change her stance on it.

Opal is very open about the LGBTQIA+, obviously she heavily supports the community. She does not talk about her support often as she does not need to, but nonetheless she won’t change her stance. She assumed everyone else also believed in the rights of the community, so she is not worried about such things.
Appearance:
Opal stands at 5’2 with a mid-sized body that is average weight, 144lbs, and is considered pear shaped. She is in shape though not particularly athletic, it is obvious she is fit and able bodied. Her hair is a light blond color that is full of loose curls that frame her face and go just barely past her shoulders. Her facial features are all rounded in some way, her nose is a smaller button shape, her eyes round and wide with a warm grey toned color that is still fairly light, her cheeks are rounded though not chubby and her lips are full as well. Unlike most of her feature her jaw is sharper though not too harsh in comparison, just more toned. She has long and neat fingernails, clean and often without nail polish on. She smells of lemons, likely from her candles, and cake which comes in a perfume.

Opal has lots of things, it seems she copes with everything that comes her way by getting cute items. She has a few pairs of earrings along with a single butterfly necklace. She has a whole bin of plushies at home, along with some cooking utensils. One of her most prized possessions is her sketchbook, which lays open in her home. She has servers books in a cabinet somewhere in her room.

Opal talks in a soft and warm tone, her voice is not squeaky or particularly annoying but it is still feminine and furthermore high pitched. She speaks casually, her Japanese is really good. She often uses slang and overall she does not speak much differently than others. She often tries to be exciting while speaking, using bright language and wording to aid her.

How Do They Do In Class:
Opal does well in class, she actually enjoys class a lot. It takes your mind off everything and lets you do something exciting. Of course there have been times where class is the last thing she wants to do, and those times are the times she will admit to have skipped. Though she doesn’t leave the school, due to the rules, she simply hides out in the plant nursery - which is the best place in school. Otherwise she loves class, and her teachers are amazing.
Feelings on Clubs:
Opal is in the debate club, but she feels as if the clubs are overall exciting and a great way to spend your time. While she is not a fan of all the clubs she believes they each have a purpose and knows people enjoy them. She is very dedicated to her own club, and while she is not amazing at debating she also really enjoys it. Many of her clubmates are good people in her eyes, she gets along with most of them.
Feelings on Sports:
Opal does not play any specific sports, though she had wanted to be in baseball for a few months. She ultimately decided not to due to the people who are on the current Bobcat Baseball Team. She is more of a Spartan fan, having met an old Spartan mascot and football player. She supports the Bobcats as well though. Overall she is active and okay at sports herself, but chooses not to be on a team.
Feelings on School:
Opal believes it’s a part of life, and gives her something to do. Of course when she wants to do other things going to school can be annoying, but it does not start early and the classes can be quite enjoyable. Overall she believes school is good, she is excited for college.

Feelings on KPD:
Opal feels as if they are weak, and rather useless. When violence and crime was heavily affecting her and her friends' lives the KPD did nothing. She found it frustrating how they never seemed to care. She understood there was not much they could do, but despite that she also believed there were other ways to go about things. Overall, she dislikes and distrusts the KPD.

Opal has no issues with gangs, they are really just groups of people that work together in order to achieve something. She only worries about one gang - Bonten. Opal has taken spray painting areas from them before, not to specifically stop them but for other reasons. She is not worried about them trying to attack her, she just sees them as assholes. She prefers to stay away from crime and gangs, particularly Bonten.
Feelings on Street Racing:
Opal finds it exciting! Cars are absolutely stunning to her, and the fast pace of street racing? She would feel at home with their community. She is not open about how she likes cars, or street racing, so she often watches from afar.

Opal has little care for it, while crimes have happened to her and her friends she has somehow “moved on” from these incidents. She has no issues with criminals of any sort, often not caring about their past in that matter. All people are redeemable, a person can not just be bad.

They are heroes, and have saved her friends on multiple occasions. While she believes they are important she also does not visit often, and has never been directly taken into their care. Her friends on the other hand, have been. She deeply respects the work they do.

[FULL BACKSTORY]

Opal was born in Scotland, her family was native to the area and almost exclusively used Scots which included any extended family. She grew up in the countryside in a loving and careful family, constantly being looked after by her parents and her older sister. Her home was an open and genuine place where she was taught good morals and strict values that she has kept since. They had extended family though it was very small, Opal’s father being an only child and Opal’s mother only having one sibling that was extremely distant. Her father’s parents weren’t around so the only grandparents she had were her mothers. While her grandparents were the typical gentle and sweet type, spoiling Opa and her sister, they were not around often and spent their time in Japan. Opal only stayed in Scotland until she was six-years-old, but while she was there she went to school and did exceptionally well. Her English was the only things that struggled, with her never being able to fully grasp it. Opal excelled in other subjects luckily, such as art, math, and very basic science. She was never a teachers pet but she certainly was not a bother either, her parents were very pleased with her childhood accomplishments. Socially she was accepted as well, she was obviously an extrovert from a young age. She could make friends easily, fitting into multiple groups of friends. She was a bright kid.
At the age of six, during the summer, a house fire destroyed Opal’s family home. Opal was inside at the time, along with the rest of her family, though her father and older sister were both trapped in their rooms. Opal was always around one parent and at the time of the fire that parent was her mother. When the smoke alarms went off a bit too late as the fire had already become a large and raging storm, one of which both Opal and her mother got out of. Opal’s father and older sister were not as lucky, they were trapped farther inside the house and only got to the family room before passing out. It took a total of thirty minutes for the firefighters to arrive, and when they did it took them an hour to find the burnt bodies. Opal could not fully grasp what had happened, it took her years to be able to begin processing it correctly. She could not display the same amount of emotion as her mother did at the loss, though she felt the same way.
Opal’s mother, Katelyn, could not deal with the loss of her husband and first child. While she loved Opal, she was dealt a massive blow to her mental health and even from a young age this was clear to Opal. They moved shortly after the fire due to Katelyn’s inability to cope with living in Scotland. It was decided they would move to Japan so that Opal’s grandparents could help with her care. Opal's Life changed completely, of course she was not unloved, but she was watched less, she was not as important as she was before. Opal went on with schooling once she began living in Japan, she found being at school was much easier than being at home and continued to connect with her classmates. She was still an extrovert in the end, though she was still nervous. Opal became more concerned and self-aware, she understood things better now and was more careful with how she acted. She became less carefree, and this made her seem more tense, though she remained bright and sociable. As she went through school, she learned Japanese and actually became fluent and furthermore excelled, though she still used Scots. She did well in other areas of school, like writing and art, though was not praised for these skills like she was before. This did not affect her confidence though; she knew she was good at school.
While going through the majority of high school, until grade 12, she lived with her mother rather than her grandparents. During this time, she began wearing a silly and child-like bunny mask, one that had pastel ears and a white face. She had apparently bought it from a craft store back in Scotland. It was like a shield to her, protecting her from her own mother. Opal’s mother was never abusive, but Opal was aware of herself, she knew she looked like her older sister and her mother was quick to pick up on it. Opal felt horrid for it, even though she could not do much about it. She liked her face in some ways, but she felt it was a burden too. She had drifted away from her mother, and she could only blame her looks for it. Of course, there were other reasons, her mother has been traumatized by the fire, she was not mentally well. Opal could not do anything to help her mother, so she took on the mask in hopes of easing her pain slightly. She could make whatever facial expression she wanted, and no one would judge, she could see everything, and no one could see her. It was like heaven, her own personal world. Of course, she became distant to others, the mask was chunky and childish, and it did not help her connect with everyone. She still made her way through though and made plenty of friends with the mask. During her current year in school, 12th, she bought herself a room in a shared house. She could not stand being around her mother and she constantly felt selfish. So, she declared it was for the best and lived in the shared house. At some point during this time, she decided she did not like the mask. It was a big choice for her as she had grown attached to it. Despite her qualms, she set the mask aside. It was childish anyway.

Opal has Pyrophobia, which she does acknowledge though only slightly. She is terrified of fire and will panic and overwhelm herself if she notices it. Anything related could set her off, from bonfires to gasoline. She will not always go into hysterics, often panicking silently instead. It will always be like walking on eggshells around the subject of fire though.
Skills:
Opal is an amazing cook, creating and preparing food is one of her greatest skills. She is also a great artist even though she cannot draw people nor animals. It is obvious she is passionate about her work and this shows.
Quirks:
Opal will fumble and mess with her hands or whatever they are holding, often she is nervous or stressed about her surroundings. She will often clasp her hands together, tapping her fingers on one another, just keeping herself busy.

Who They Secretly Admire (Look Up To):
>Sven ver Hoeven; Opal finds his cold and stone-faced niceties to be kind and helpful. Despite how harsh he looks, she knows him to be a kind person even though they do not speak often. She looks up to him due to how he acts, he is brave and she finds that he is passionate.
>Rosalina Atilius; Opal finds Rosa’s bold and unforgiving attitude not only admirable but strong. Opal believes that Rosa is likely the strongest person she has ever met, and their friendship is very important to her. She looks up to Rosa for what she has done and what she continues to do which is stick up for herself and not follow others.
>Lazarus Odysseus; Opal looks up to Laz in many ways, while he seems nonchalant and bored for the most part he also is a brave and intelligent person. She hopes she can one day make him proud of her, as for the moment he is like a father to her having saved her from multiple threats.
Feelings on Others:
Opal has an odd way of looking at others, she believes being kind and respectful is needed but she also does not feel as if she needs to help anyone else. She does not feel as if going out of her way to help someone will make her a better person, or will make the world better, so she does not. She will still help others as long as they don’t bother her or get in her way.
Feeling on Others (IN DEPTH):
Sven: Opal has been friends with Sven for a long time, he was one of her first friends and he helped her social life blossom. Despite that she has not been able to see him often, or at all. She finds that he is distant and cold, while this does not bother her, she wishes she could be a better friend to him. She does not plan to reach out though she does want him to know he means a lot to her, and he is a good person despite how he may think of himself.
Rosa: Opal met Rosa during her current year in school, around springtime, despite that Opal feels close with Rosa. They have gone on many cherished adventures, through the sewers and the streets, and Opal is happy that she got to meet Rosa. Opal will always be there for Rosa, whenever possible, even if she has not always been there in the past. Opal hopes that Rosa is okay although she knows that Rosa is strong, she has also seen Rosa struggle.
Squables: Opal and Squables have been friends for quite a while, she met him during a gym class that was followed by a history lesson. They were not friends at first, Opal found him fairly rude actually, but they became friends after a day spent together. That day they spent almost the entire day together, with only a few fights happening. Since then, they have not spent nearly as much time together though they are still friends. Opal hopes Squables is okay, even though she is already certain he is.
Jayden: Opal met Jayden during her 11th year, he was one of her third or fourth friends. They met because Opal found that he was amazing at dodgeball, and as someone who enjoyed dodgeball at the time, she felt like she needed to tell him. After that point they became close friends, Opal showing him all her secret spots, Jayden leading her through the sewers. They had tons of fun, evening rooming together for a while. Their friendship fell off after a rough crush situation and while they stayed in each other's contacts - they rarely texted. Opal did not think of Jayden much after it all, she found him weak, in the end she blamed him for breaking up their friendship. She still hopes he is okay, just as long as he stays away from her.
Jax: Opal and Jax met because Opal felt like doing a good deed, she saw him and decided his hair cut was amazing - and that she needed to compliment him. So, she did, and she kept complimenting him, until he had to become friends with her. While they do not talk often, they have each other's phone numbers and greet each other when they see one another in public. Opal thinks he is a good person, and that while his life has been hard, he deserves to be happy.
Michael: Opal met Michael in the midst of all of the Mark drama, right before it all finished. They did not start off on the best terms but soon grew to be . . . alright with each other. While they rarely speak, Opal still cares about him. She knows he has had a rough time, with his girlfriends and with his friends. She knows overall he is a good person who at the very least tried to protect her and Verdi.
Kuro: Opal and Kuro are not, and likely will never be, friends. They met due to Opal spying on a few of Michael's friends to get information, where she learned he had a huge drinking problem and that him and his girlfriend broke up. Kuro saw her and greeted her. He offered to be a listening ear if she ever needed it and Opal still thanks him to this day. While she never took his offer Opal knows he is a good person, someone who deserves good things.
Holly: Opal met Holly through debate, though they were in several classes together before that. After that point they often greeted each other whenever they saw each other. They ended up in a drama class together and put on a large performance which included two others. Opal thinks Holly is stunning and with that she is smart. Overall, she is a great person. In the end Opal does not know her too well but she still wishes her well despite that.
Mark: Opal and Mark met in the worst situation imaginable, and Opal remembers it to this day. Despite the lies she has spread, she knows her and Mark met because he attacked Verdi and his siblings in front of her. They had a harsh relationship after that, with Opal constantly being rude to Mark and Mark attacking Verdi. At the time of this all happening she believed he was the worst creature to roam the earth, she believed he was cruel and awful. She began to like him after he showed her that he had settled his debt with what was formerly the Lynn's, that he would not be attacking her or her friends. Things changed even further when she went to his penthouse. They fell in love that night and ever since Opal has only seen the good in him. She found that people such as Verdi put her in danger, and Mark saved her.
Viridis: Opal met him during her current year, and they were quick to end up together, and then get in engaged. Opal did not think it was too quick at the time, at the time she thought he was the perfect mix of childish and brave. After their engagement ended, with Opal playing a small role in taking away his memories. She does not regret it. She found that their relationship was too fast and he was too childish, he was not brave but instead he was foolish. He put her in danger and had nothing to show for it. He knew nothing about her - he made her feel more alone than she had ever felt.
Willow: Opal was friends with her for only a short while, they had met during the same drama class where Holly and her preformed. She was included in that performance. They were not very close after that though they became more friendly after Opal was knocked out while standing a bit too close to Willow - as she was being attacked. Their friendship became almost nonexistent after Opal found out that Willow was friends with Cotton - a siter of Viridis and a liar. Opal finds that Willow is not able to protect herself, she is not willing to.
Iris: Opal and her were never, and will never, be friends. She is the sister of Viridis and the first time they met Iris insulted Opal, she stated that Opal was a liar for saying Mark would not be attacking them anymore. Opal was devastated, she could not believe Virdis's family was now attacking her. Since then, their relationship was simply Opal insulting her and Iris insulting back - even going as far as to threaten to hang Opal.
Cotton: Opal was never friends with Cotton, the first time they met was when Viridis introduced them. Opal was quite angry at the time, likely giving the wrong impression, since then Opal has found out that Cotton lied about multiple things which caused for Viridis to get put into dangerous situations. Opal hated Cotton for this, she believes that Cotton is only a liar and is awful in every way.
Julia: Opal and Julia met because Julia saw Opal in an odd spot and decided to climb up to her - they were soon caught by a chef and told to get down. This started their friendship and while they have not spoken after that moment Opal decided Julia was a really good person. She helped her meet a friend and furthermore found that Julia was just a good person.

Feelings on Gender:
Opal believes gender is a difficult topic, it is a very wide subject. There are many genders in Opal’s beliefs, she does not care about what others identify as and will respect them regardless. She does not debate on the topic, she refuses to change her stance on it.
Feelings on LGBTQ+:
Opal is very open about the LGBTQIA+, obviously she heavily supports the community. She does not talk about her support often as she does not need to, but nonetheless she won’t change her stance. She assumed everyone else also believed in the rights of the community, so she is not worried about such things.
Appearance:
Opal stands at 5’2 with a mid-sized body that is average weight, 144lbs, and is considered pear shaped. She is in shape though not particularly athletic, it is obvious she is fit and able bodied. Her hair is a light blond color that is full of loose curls that frame her face and go just barely past her shoulders. Her facial features are all rounded in some way, her nose is a smaller button shape, her eyes round and wide with a warm grey toned color that is still fairly light, her cheeks are rounded though not chubby and her lips are full as well. Unlike most of her feature her jaw is sharper though not too harsh in comparison, just more toned. She has long and neat fingernails, clean and often without nail polish on. She smells of lemons, likely from her candles, and cake which comes in a perfume.
Equipment:
Opal has lots of things, it seems she copes with everything that comes her way by getting cute items. She has a few pairs of earrings along with a single butterfly necklace. She has a whole bin of plushies at home, along with some cooking utensils. One of her most prized possessions is her sketchbook, which lays open in her home. She has servers books in a cabinet somewhere in her room.
Character Voice:
Opal talks in a soft and warm tone, her voice is not squeaky or particularly annoying but it is still feminine and furthermore high pitched. She speaks casually, her Japanese is really good. She often uses slang and overall she does not speak much differently than others. She often tries to be exciting while speaking, using bright language and wording to aid her.

How Do They Do In Class:
Opal does well in class, she actually enjoys class a lot. It takes your mind off everything and lets you do something exciting. Of course there have been times where class is the last thing she wants to do, and those times are the times she will admit to have skipped. Though she doesn’t leave the school, due to the rules, she simply hides out in the plant nursery - which is the best place in school. Otherwise she loves class, and her teachers are amazing.
Feelings on Clubs:
Opal is in the debate club, but she feels as if the clubs are overall exciting and a great way to spend your time. While she is not a fan of all the clubs she believes they each have a purpose and knows people enjoy them. She is very dedicated to her own club, and while she is not amazing at debating she also really enjoys it. Many of her clubmates are good people in her eyes, she gets along with most of them.
Feelings on Sports:
Opal does not play any specific sports, though she had wanted to be in baseball for a few months. She ultimately decided not to due to the people who are on the current Bobcat Baseball Team. She is more of a Spartan fan, having met an old Spartan mascot and football player. She supports the Bobcats as well though. Overall she is active and okay at sports herself, but chooses not to be on a team.
Feelings on School:
Opal believes it’s a part of life, and gives her something to do. Of course when she wants to do other things going to school can be annoying, but it does not start early and the classes can be quite enjoyable. Overall she believes school is good, she is excited for college.

Crime/Gang Affiliation:
Opal is not affiliated with any gang, but does do street art. She has never been caught or charged.
Feelings on KPD:
Opal feels as if they are weak, and rather useless. When violence and crime was heavily affecting her and her friends' lives the KPD did nothing. She found it frustrating how they never seemed to care. She understood there was not much they could do, but despite that she also believed there were other ways to go about things. Overall, she dislikes and distrusts the KPD.
Feelings on Gangs:
Opal has no issues with gangs, they are really just groups of people that work together in order to achieve something. She only worries about one gang - Bonten. Opal has taken spray painting areas from them before, not to specifically stop them but for other reasons. She is not worried about them trying to attack her, she just sees them as assholes. She prefers to stay away from crime and gangs, particularly Bonten.
Feelings on Street Racing:
Opal finds it exciting! Cars are absolutely stunning to her, and the fast pace of street racing? She would feel at home with their community. She is not open about how she likes cars, or street racing, so she often watches from afar.
Feelings on Crime:
Opal has little care for it, while crimes have happened to her and her friends she has somehow “moved on” from these incidents. She has no issues with criminals of any sort, often not caring about their past in that matter. All people are redeemable, a person can not just be bad.
Feelings on EMS:
They are heroes, and have saved her friends on multiple occasions. While she believes they are important she also does not visit often, and has never been directly taken into their care. Her friends on the other hand, have been. She deeply respects the work they do.

Opal refuses to speak on this topic.
Feelings on Government:
Opal does not particularly like the government, or the governors in the area. She knows they try their best and furthermore respects them, but they have never been able to help her. She finds they are often involved in crime, and with that they will not help you with contacting the police. Overall, she is neutral.
Feelings on Religion:
Opal has no huge thoughts on religion, it’s just a part of life. While in the debate club she has said that it causes wars, she does not feel particularly strongly about it. She normally leaves that up for others to decide for themselves, and has not fully decided for herself. She often visits the shrine, the Shinto religion seems interesting but she has no want to learn for the moment.

[FULL BACKSTORY]

Opal was born in Scotland, her family was native to the area and almost exclusively used Scots which included any extended family. She grew up in the countryside in a loving and careful family, constantly being looked after by her parents and her older sister. Her home was an open and genuine place where she was taught good morals and strict values that she has kept since. They had extended family though it was very small, Opal’s father being an only child and Opal’s mother only having one sibling that was extremely distant. Her father’s parents weren’t around so the only grandparents she had were her mothers. While her grandparents were the typical gentle and sweet type, spoiling Opa and her sister, they were not around often and spent their time in Japan. Opal only stayed in Scotland until she was six-years-old, but while she was there she went to school and did exceptionally well. Her English was the only things that struggled, with her never being able to fully grasp it. Opal excelled in other subjects luckily, such as art, math, and very basic science. She was never a teachers pet but she certainly was not a bother either, her parents were very pleased with her childhood accomplishments. Socially she was accepted as well, she was obviously an extrovert from a young age. She could make friends easily, fitting into multiple groups of friends. She was a bright kid.
At the age of six, during the summer, a house fire destroyed Opal’s family home. Opal was inside at the time, along with the rest of her family, though her father and older sister were both trapped in their rooms. Opal was always around one parent and at the time of the fire that parent was her mother. When the smoke alarms went off a bit too late as the fire had already become a large and raging storm, one of which both Opal and her mother got out of. Opal’s father and older sister were not as lucky, they were trapped farther inside the house and only got to the family room before passing out. It took a total of thirty minutes for the firefighters to arrive, and when they did it took them an hour to find the burnt bodies. Opal could not fully grasp what had happened, it took her years to be able to begin processing it correctly. She could not display the same amount of emotion as her mother did at the loss, though she felt the same way.
Opal’s mother, Katelyn, could not deal with the loss of her husband and first child. While she loved Opal, she was dealt a massive blow to her mental health and even from a young age this was clear to Opal. They moved shortly after the fire due to Katelyn’s inability to cope with living in Scotland. It was decided they would move to Japan so that Opal’s grandparents could help with her care. Opal's Life changed completely, of course she was not unloved, but she was watched less, she was not as important as she was before. Opal went on with schooling once she began living in Japan, she found being at school was much easier than being at home and continued to connect with her classmates. She was still an extrovert in the end, though she was still nervous. Opal became more concerned and self-aware, she understood things better now and was more careful with how she acted. She became less carefree, and this made her seem more tense, though she remained bright and sociable. As she went through school, she learned Japanese and actually became fluent and furthermore excelled, though she still used Scots. She did well in other areas of school, like writing and art, though was not praised for these skills like she was before. This did not affect her confidence though; she knew she was good at school.
While going through the majority of high school, until grade 12, she lived with her mother rather than her grandparents. During this time, she began wearing a silly and child-like bunny mask, one that had pastel ears and a white face. She had apparently bought it from a craft store back in Scotland. It was like a shield to her, protecting her from her own mother. Opal’s mother was never abusive, but Opal was aware of herself, she knew she looked like her older sister and her mother was quick to pick up on it. Opal felt horrid for it, even though she could not do much about it. She liked her face in some ways, but she felt it was a burden too. She had drifted away from her mother, and she could only blame her looks for it. Of course, there were other reasons, her mother has been traumatized by the fire, she was not mentally well. Opal could not do anything to help her mother, so she took on the mask in hopes of easing her pain slightly. She could make whatever facial expression she wanted, and no one would judge, she could see everything, and no one could see her. It was like heaven, her own personal world. Of course, she became distant to others, the mask was chunky and childish, and it did not help her connect with everyone. She still made her way through though and made plenty of friends with the mask. During her current year in school, 12th, she bought herself a room in a shared house. She could not stand being around her mother and she constantly felt selfish. So, she declared it was for the best and lived in the shared house. At some point during this time, she decided she did not like the mask. It was a big choice for her as she had grown attached to it. Despite her qualms, she set the mask aside. It was childish anyway.
