server dosn't work After The Update

Since ive updated my Minecraft I havn't been able to connect to the server, It says ; Outdated server! im still on 1.11.2

does that mean the server is out of date or I need to update my Minecraft again? :what:

The server hasn't been updated, should work on both 1.11.2 and 1.12.
Try deleting your versions folder, hold down Windows key and R, then type in %appdata%, press enter.
Go into .minecraft, versions folder and then find a folder named "1.11.2" or "1.12", whichever version you play on.
Delete the folder(s) and then start up MC. Should work

You using a different minecraft version the server runs on 1.11.2 and you maybe running the lastest version (1.12)

Change the version your on by adding a new one in the options
