WHAT YOU WANT TO SUGGEST OR MENTION: I want the sign book option to be taken oocly
HOW WILL THIS BENEFIT THE SERVER/COMMUNITY: it will help people that just want to advertise stuff with books like parties and alcohol sells

Signed books shouldn't be taken as signing it with your rpname as most of the time we just want to make it so you're unable to edit the book

If it doesn't include your rpname it shouldn't be taken as such

Being unable to talk ooc in a book makes complete sense but signing a book with your username (pressing sign basically) and for that info to be counted as your rpname makes 0 sense

This is already the case, it just isn't explicitly stated in the rules. IGNs are an OOC construct, meaning that our characters have no comprehension of them. If anybody does this, they are breaking roleplay rules 5.1 and possibly 5.1a:
5.1 Do not metagame. This is the act of using out-of-character information to your in-character advantage, regardless of your character not knowing said details. Questions such as “can you meet me at spawn?” are not deemed as metagame

5.1a You cannot use In-Character items to communicate Out-Of-Character. This includes book and quills, or any type of phone.
Unless somebody signs the book with their IC name, your character is not able to know who the book is written by.

Police and government workers are allowed to take that info icly or so I was told which makes no sense if you ask me, since you can sign it as one character and then swap and then it would get you in trouble as your other character, to me personally it's just metagaming

It isn't written in any publicly available document and contradicts the general server rules, so I find it difficult to believe this is a real thing they can do.

@Ghostfire tell me that I'm correct (this is not a request)

Police can't find someone's name ICly in a book unless explicitly written in it; the signature does not correlate to the character at all

so, yes, @Alimonino is correct (uncommon W)

Well my character got arrested arrested for it but I'm gonna talk with a staff member
Oh no! Yeah that's definitly a metagame, there's no proof you've written in that book. The person who cuffed you must've mixed up the rules, I'm sure it wasn't on purpose though. Definitly talk to staff about that!

Thank you for your suggestion!

- A Minecraft book signature cannot be taken ICly. The player must put their In-Character name inside of the book to sign it In-Character.
