I need help to write characters.

I have only had one character in this year of SRP. And I believe is time to send Daniel Minaya back to spain once and for all. It wouldn't fit him to stay in Karakura anymore. I want to make a new character and make them as deep and complex as Daniel Minaya was internally. There is a problem Daniel Minaya was based on what would I do in the situation that took place icly(yes it was kinda a self insert but I had to choose between a self insert or a plain character). I want to make a character that is not based on someone I know. I want to create an artificial character that feels alive. I have been searching for guides at the SRP forums but found none same with searching on the internet.

This is just my personal opinion when it comes to writing lore for characters, but I hope it helps! (I also suck at explaining, so sorry...)

A little idea would maybe be introducing your new character after Daniel leaves for Spain. Perhaps making it seem like your new character came in search of them or something like that... Anyways, playing around with how you want to bring your new character to Karakura is pretty fun in my opinion. If I have like 0 idea of what I want to do, I start a project with friends! Making a little group project to bring multiple characters in at once gives you the input of others and gives you a base on where to begin. Lining ideas up is a fun way to create in-depth lore in a fun and creative way!

searching on the internet.
Secondly, coming up with names for characters can be a pain... I know it is for me, but it's normally worth it in the end if you enjoy the process. That's where the internet can come in handy if you have a certain country/area you want your character to be from. Experiment with names, see how they piece together and you'll have a character name in no time!

Umm, that's all I can really think of this early in the morning... Yeah, hope you find something worth using in there!

My best advice, as a previous member of SchoolRP's lore-team and soon-to-be author, make your character completely different to Minaya. I don't want to fuel you with what characters I would make, I'm not making a character for you, but my best advice is to make out a character's name, appearance, and MBTI type. Use biography formats to figure out who you want your character to be. It'll be difficult adapting into the shoes of your new character, but don't worry. It'll become natural at one point. Remember, you and your character are seperate entities! Don't force your own decisions on your character. Be different with it! Even if the character does something morally wrong, break the moral law! Be evil! Just try and find yourself astray from making your character a self-insert, and from there, simply develop them. (It's difficult. It takes time. I understand.)

PS @RexLobo & Lore-Team, I miss you :(

We don't miss you (jk I love u will, PS: i'm new so idek.)

Anyways, I love making characters, I do it way too much and I vouch for will's answer but there is a way I make my characters up with which I feel like always works, cuz my characters are FIRE (yes, im biased) but as a new lore-team member and aspiring author (im copying will but its true)heres what I do

Basically it's look for stuff that inspires you, interests you or literally is funny to you, and use that as a baseline to let your creativity ramble loose on whatever baseline you have. This baseline can be a personality type: Bitchy, arrogant, Silent but Intelligent etc etc. Or a baseline can be something you want to have happened in his lore, which you can use movies, books, games etc. for inspiration. My example of this is my BMD character Tsujii, who me and thanks to robin who pushed me to do it, I based off a retro NES game from 1989 called 'The Money Game II' and then I mixed it with Wolf of Wallstreet stuff as well. Another baseline can be mental illnesses, what is something your character might have and why, for if you're interested in roleplaying out certain illnesses. My example of this is Ikiya, who I wanted to expand upon the idea of being a schizophrenic and 'sleepless man' (Parasomnic & Insomniac) which then yk brew to other stuff aswell

Creating a character is as easy as getting inspiration from something u played, watched, read wtv. And then putting your own twist and ideas further onto that story. Just make sure you don't copy it a 100% though. From there on out it is kind of relating to will's answer, let the roleplay be according to what that character, based on whatever you have (personality, backstory, both, etc.)

You can use character AI if you're really desperate. I like using Creative Writer, the bot comes up with unique and creative backstories, traits, etc. I would never think of. It'll build off your ideas and make it 1000x better.
