What's the title of your suggestion?: Being able to be a councillor and sport captain

What's your suggestion?:
My suggestion is that councillors usually id say 1/4 of the council are on sport teams, however, those councillors cannot progress to captain, furthermore If they are already one and want to join they have to be demoted or leave the team in order to join council.

I heard this is because it is too "time consuming" however I believe that with managed time you can still play both roles fairly well as council has no set activity and through the sheet that we use as long as your moderately active (even just twice a week) it's quite do able. Since after all you can be a sport player and a councillor at the same time, there is only a little bit more in addition to being a captain than just the regular player. Furthermore ive been told by a councillor who I will not disclose that they believe it is also quite easy to balance and handle being both.

Furthermore, if one does find it too time consuming, they can choose to leave council or the captain position once they realise in doing so or to think if they could handle both of them beforehand, however from the person I have asked who has been in this situation they believe that it is very do able.

I know people who possess 2-3+ roles that can be from shopkeep to kpd and a sport team and they were able to handle it perfectly meeting activity on all of them, therefore I feel like this also shows its very do able to be a captain + councillor

I would like it so that this rule is either removed or adjusted so that captains can be a councillor on another character however they cannot become a president if they are.

This is due to the fact I have lost a few councillors now because of this rule as they got offered captain, however they have still wanted to remain a councillor, the one's this has happened too are usually very active people who would of been good for the long term of the council however because of this rule they have had to leave.

My suggestion is simple, allow for councillors to be able to be a captain on another account or adjust the rule so that a captain cannot become a president within the student council. I am not the only person who has wanted this change but in fact multiple have. :))

I understand some may think "wait but it will promote metagaming" well not really as you could metagame the exact same as a co captain which you can be while on council, furthermore just the same as a regular sport member. This really shouldn't be thought about because meta gaming is warnable/bannable so people shouldn't be doing this regardless however anyone can metagame.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
It will allow for those who still want to be a captain to be able to become a councillor meaning that people can still be able to get the unique RP of being a captain along with getting the unique RP of being a councillor.

Furthermore it will mean that council will have more long lasting members (im not saying we don't have long lasting members) due to the fact some people have left simply because of this one rule that has stopped them from being able to stay within council which is a small but very loved faction from those who are within it and partake within.

I can see that this could possibly cause drama, metagaming chances, and other stuff that could just become hard to deal with, but all in all you can always be a councilor and then become a captain or the other way around if you wish to experience that rp. There's always time! ^_^
Plus it makes it so that there's more roles available to a variety of people at one time.

I was gonna speak on metagaming, but what stops you from doing the same meta gaming as a councillor/sport member, its not allowed end of, shouldn't be done that's why I didn't speak up with meta gaming chances. And its not the fact its always time it's that my councillors had to leave to regarding to being a captain. Frankly there's nothing stopping a person to being in 3 or 4 factions either, and im about when a person gets dm'd to be a captain to takeover when no one else wanted the role.

Sometimes rules like these are made to give other players a chance to join the faction. If everyone was a sports captain and councillor, then no one else would have the chance to obtain either role! With the government factions, you can really only effectively be a part of 2/3 of the factions (being KPD, EMS, and Town) at a time. I can see where you're coming from with the fact that you may be losing members because they've been offered another opportunity, however that's sometimes just how it's going to be especially on SRP. If we let everyone be in any faction they want regardless of how many alts they have without limitation, I have a feeling slots in the factions would begin to become a little scarce. My point is sometimes people do in fact have the time to "do it all", however what it really boils down to is being fair to the playerbase and giving other people a chance to join these factions!

sorry to add but you can be a caretaker and a professor? so why is it any different for council and a captain? (not tryna be rude if it sounds it sorry)

You cannot be a caretaker and a professor at the same time. You can only be in one faculty faction at one time

I know others believe this is unfair advantage but to be honest I don’t agree.

What if you’ve started out as a councillor, love and enjoy the faction and have also began leaning towards the sports faction, putting time into it for a year or so while been dedicated to councilling for even longer and suddenly you gain the chance you’ve been waiting for which in this case would be Captain in your team and your team is leaning towards you but you find out you can’t because your in the councillor faction?

This is just as unfair and disappointing as any other scenario, disappointing the current Captain of the team and possibly the people in it so why exactly are really great leaders like council members being pushed back to pursue their dreams of becoming a captain in their Sports Team and how does this rule make the game any fairer?

mb I meant club lead and professor, idk where I got caretaker from LOL
Club Leader is a Student Faction
Professor is a Faculty Faction

They are opposites so that is how you can be a club leader AND professor.

I doubt this suggestion will get implemented merely because of the chance that it’d string along role hogs, unfairness and whatnot, but I agree with the overall gist of it nonetheless.

Coincidentally sprouting after the last wave, the student council has been getting the attention it’s been deprived of for so long (not to say that it was ‘underground’ before). I think this is because of a wide range of characters being an addition to the roster—’unconventional’ ones that you wouldn’t think twice about if they’d go for council or not, well, because you’d assume not. It really adds a unique strand to the branch of roleplay and I can only see it as inevitable that more people, moresay those from sport teams, join in on it in the future. That’s what councils frequently consist of.. Right? Uniqueness. Not just boring old black and white characters, habitually good and bad moral code; it’s everything and everyone. It’d be a shame to strip a character from their creative integrity just solely because of a simple chance that may or may not happen. If anything, the application process for team members can be more strategic and in depth to debunk those unwritten chances - or even those checking council applications can be kind and considerate about those who are and are not apart of teams like how other factions do
