I've had the same problem and luckily someone hooked me up with the SRP resource pack. Only thing is you have to manually add this into your Resource pack folder via your Launcher folder but it's no big deal if you know how to do that already.

it was! dang magic man over here O-O
yeah I'm guessing during a small period of time after the new pack was updated minecraft just didn't want me to use the pack at all even if I manually downloaded it, but after heading to bed and waking up it just decided to work for me.
