What Makes a Club Good?
What Makes a Club Good?
When asked around, I’ve collected some qualities that are looked at most best when considering choosing a club of best fit. There are a lot of clubs around, but how often do you hear about them? If I’d ask you to name some clubs, I bet Occult and Journalism come to mind. But why those? Occult has drama, and of course you know about Journalism if you’re reading this. But this begs the question, what other qualities make a club good?
Are you in a club? What qualities do you look for?

Let’s Break it Down

Fun/Activities
Fun/Activities
The most common answer is activities and fun. People look for entertainment while considering a club to join. This can be shown as events, meetups, field trips, and simply hanging out. What type of activities in particular? No idea, never asked. However! There’s a lot of cool activities I know of: Going out to eat, sitting around a campfire whilst watching fidgety people jump over the hot coals like it’s their job, exploring the dirty corners of their uncleaned club rooms, sitting near the bear cave and playing truth or dare, and committing tax fraud! Wouldn’t want to miss out, for real.
Community
Community
Can’t go wrong with this one! Community makes anything fun, even jail. I loved watching people fight, as long as I was far away. I love going to the news station in my freetime, as my favorite community is there! Shoutout to Kazman and Ezio. Having people you can hold whilst your fellow club members are literally dying from ghost plasm has got to be why Occult Club is so great. Right, right? It’s nice to walk into a club room and have it full of members that encourage you to do some questionable things, such as go around committing theft towards the school tryhards (no offense, councilors, we were thirsty for hot coffee). We also enjoy making rumors about our club leader, Keio, saying he died to cover for him when he’s actually committing tax fraud and being sent to prison (give us money we need bail). He claims he’s fine but there’s only so many times you can watch Arthur’s Christmas Special.
Topic/Theme
Topic/Theme
Each club is unique with their topics! It’s what really sets each club apart. We have the fashion club, violating the school's dress code. We have the occult club, putting everyone’s lives in danger because they want to play with cursed dolls. We have the journalism club, which you should totally join because it’s just better. We also have the photography club and the media club which has no differences as far as I know. Maybe photoshop? We also have the gardening club which will be getting shut down considering it’s too cold for flowers. They all die. Might as well give up. We have the acting club, which is basically after-school drama class. There may be more but the others aren’t relevant enough to be mentioned!
Extras To Consider
Extras To Consider
Food and snacks seem to be a fan favorite, having food brings people together, especially if it’s bad. Have you ever tried beanboozled? Instead of lame “mmms” and “yums” you get screams of terror, and that’s so much more fun. You even get to try flavors you’ve always wanted to try without getting sent to the hospital!
Power was an interesting answer. Is it because of the journalism club getting away with theft? Probably. Love that for us.
Familiarity is always nice! Getting to know a club member and listening to their shena****ns can get you to want to join because “I know all the drama!” and “I know everyone’s names!” Hanging out with a club before joining is a great way to ease in and feel less like an outsider.
Learning experiences are cool too I suppose. Just kidding, this answer is actually great when applied to come clubs. Want to be a reporter? Join journalism! Want to become an actor? Acting club! Want to become a ghostbuster? Occult, I think. They’re not very good at it since they keep harassing ghosts in OCTOBER of all months. Fashion designer? Professional photographer? So many good job options. Don’t forget police officers, if councilors count as a club.
I include ‘no answer’ here because some people may be asking themselves ‘why should I join a club?’ But what if I said you don’t need a reason? Just go for it, if you don't like it, get out of there. You’ll find your purpose with people and have a good chance of getting a great college with your experiences (just kidding, you’re stuck with Karakura). Who knows, maybe your club leader will take full responsibility for a crime you get to commit?

If you’re a club leader and reading this, take notes. These are answers for real life actual people who aren’t bots. These are qualities people want to see happen. Interpret them how you like, but take them into consideration. Mix things up a bit; create fun activities and events, provide good snacks, encourage people to join and make sure they’re well adjusted.
On a side note, are there any coffee machines that can make hot chocolate? We need the ultimate club crossover event and put the machine in someone’s locker so we can have hot chocolate whenever we want. Don’t tell the faculty, they don’t get any.
