How to create a fun college class.
You clicked this guide for most likely three reasons: Number one: You're a new professor, and you want to make your students have fun. Number two: You're a student that wants to prove their professor wrong and say they aren't the best at their job (Please don't). Number three: You're interested in becoming a professor and want to know what you need to do to be a GOOD professor. Well, in this guide I'll cover a few sections that I and many other professors have used to create fun, interactive lessons. Just to say this is from my opinion, and this is not God's ten commandments of teaching, so take it as you wish.
What not to do.
So let's get it done and over with. What not to do while hosting class. In my opinion, one of the major sins to do as a professor is not being able to fill up the lesson. If you're not able to fill up the 25 out-of-character minutes that you have per period, I would recommend you make a lesson plan or choose a subject you are talented at or maybe play a game. Having notes: You may think this is a great idea, but for myself, it makes the lesson so boring and feel so dim and uninteractive. If you do this, you're most likely going to get very bored very quickly as you use your notes for class. What I do is think of something like around 5 minutes before the lesson starts and get a ROUGH idea of what to do and what to say. When I do this, I just feel pure adrenaline, and it just feels more realistic and fun for the teacher (You can also make a fool out of your character, which just helps the lesson seem more funny or fun overall). Another thing that isn't really intelligent to do is to put pressure on the player to do a task in a certain time or answer a question. Remember that you're working with not many college students, so reputation is everything. Another thing not to do is to have a VERY average character who has no flaws and has a level of an ego issue. Having these bland characters reflect onto the class makes it purely a bland white piece of paper in a way.
What to do to make your lesson fun
In my opinion, there are many ways you can make our lesson fun. Some are more personal that I just can't do in this guide, as some people have an imagination that I lack severely. One way to make classes fun is by adding JOKES. Yes, jokes! A rare old joke in a lecture won't hurt anyone and will keep them coming! If you don't crack a joke, you'll have a very boring time in the faction. Another method that I find useful is creating something for the students to focus on. For example, you could mention a funny fact on a VERY boring topic, such as the rumour that Leonardo Da Vinci cut his ear ff. I have no clue where I heard that from, but yes. There are many ways to create a little laugh. For me, another method I use is shaming my character! It really helps people focus on your character and what they say, and if you REALLY are getting bored, you can always make a nice joke on a student! It always works in getting morale up slightly! Another method is trying your best to be VERY unhinged. For example, my character kidnapped his son and stuck him in his art cupboard and then got him out and said, ''Shall we burn the bobcat?'' No bobcats were hurt, unfortunately. Anything related to a character being a tad insane and cynical just creates personality and makes students come back and ENJOY class. Any method for creating personality or a memorable scenario DOES work. Literally ANYTHING, a phobia even works to just CREATE tension.
What to do if no one is having fun
If you're REALLY that boring of a person, I'd recommend you reconsider your character's personality or try to spice up the class with THREATS or trying to be semi-unhinged. Anything that feels creative or specific to your character could work. Showing off your personality, though, does make it more fun, as you can be as silly as you wish. You could also abruptly stop the class and start doing a new task if you're desperate or a game. Charades works really well, and the game 21 (DM me if you need help with that at #benspudgydad). You could also drag another professor in to give you advice on how to improve your class, okay?
Know your subject.
If you don't know your subject, you can't teach it effectively. If you know how to do, for example, history, and you teach religious studies, you may struggle in creating tasks and customising them to be more effective in teaching. But if you end up teaching the subject you know more about, you can easily choose tasks that are appropriate and phrase them in a more interactive manner.

How to have fun YOURSELF while hosting
As I'm a tad bit tired from writing, I'll put this in bullet points:
- Think on the spot; don't make a script.
- Try to get to know the students.
- Make sure you're happy being a professor.
- Don't join the faction if you're in it for the money.
- Try to be casual and not formal.
- Try to make yourself comfortable and more pleased with how you teach. •
- Try to make everything sound like a game.
- Listen to music
- Don't stress about hosting.
- Try to avoid negativity before hosting a class.
- Make sure you patrol the halls.
- Use your radio to ask who's hosting when.
- Only two professors can host per period.
- Don't have an ego.
- Don't be in it for the money.
- Try to be active at least once a day.
- Remember to host 10 times per month to get paid (My advice is to host at least one class every 4-7 days).
- Remember that you're an adult, not a child.
- If you need a break, make a faction request.
- Don't go inactive for many months at a time without informing MuffinCat.
- Don't be afraid to ask questions.
- Remember the basic commands.
- Try to create homework for two to three classes per 10 quota.
- Don't overwhelm yourself. If you need a break, PLEASE take it.
