Introduction
The Akiyama family is a Japanese-Korean based family; one that has been around for generations. It’s a family that has sprung off in vastly different ways; Many of the members being heavily different from one another, varying in personalities as a whole. This once prestigious family has branched out vastly into various carrier opportunities and lifestyles when executing their daily lives and routines. They are kind of people to make your head turn, whether it be in a positive or negative light.
Our Backstory
Our origin begins in the city of Kyoto, Japan. The Akiyama family owns one of the most prestigious Shintō shrines in the city of Kyoto, located on the outskirts of Gion Kobu which resides in one of five geisha districts. The shrine which is known as ‘Seishin no Jinja’ has been passed down through the family since its establishment in 1509, the current Mitsue being a woman named Ayane Akiyama. The Seishin no Jinja shrine heavily focuses on the worship of Kami; more specifically the Kami of Wisdom. Though few family members have strayed from the path of following worship, you’d notice that quite a few of the family members within the Akiyama Family have led a life of education, guiding the youth in Karakura through their contributions within the school.
Our Connection
To The City of Karakura
The Akiyama Families roots and connection to the city of Karakura began during the time of the Meiji Period, where a prominent woman of the family known as Hajime Akiyama resided during her childhood and early adult life. Both herself and the family members around her were noble workers in both the creation and disbursement of silk and cloth, both items heavily boosting the economy of Karakura during this era. All seemed to be well, and the woman enjoyed a prosperous life considering her status within the city. This was until the Early Showa Period when Hajimes life came to a sudden halt. Due to the war erupting on the island, Hajime Akiyama had no choice but to relocate herself to the city of Kyoto, Japan before it was too late.
Upon her arrival to the new location, news spread that the locations in which her daily life was spent in the city of Karakura had undergone several bombings, officializing her decision to never return to the city. Hajime took her skills and applied them through becoming a Miko at the Akiyama Shrine, as it was one of the largest shrines in the city which ultimately benefited from her skills in the creation of both silk and cloth. Utilizing this skill to the utmost of her abilities, her main role within the shrine was the creation of Kimonos. Her beautifully weaved designs stuck out vastly, bringing the shrine attention due to the sheer beauty in which the members of the Akiyama Shrine possessed. This beauty in formal fashion has seemed to stick with the family throughout the years, as you may see from Modern Day Akiyama family members who roam the streets of Karakura today.
The skills of Hajime Akiyama had seemingly brought both wealth and character to the Akiyama family more than ever, allowing it to blossom into what is currently known as one of the most popular and prestigious shrines of today's day. The works of Hajime had never gone unnoticed, ultimately catching the attention of Mohito Akiyama; the Shinshoku of the shrine during this time period. The two had seemingly blossomed a romantic relationship with one another, thus creating what is known today as the Modern Day of the Akiyama Family.

Let us introduce you to the Akiyama Family! Founded by @Kinyuun, this is a family that has a lot of character and roleplay experiences to endure. With lore, background, extremely chaotic characters, and events in the works, the Akiyama family is one that has established a close bond with one another and is continuing to develop and grow in vastly different ways. One thing that I can say about this family is that it’s been one of my favorite aspects of SRP for the last few months. We’re an active family, often hosting gatherings, events, and more! There’s no doubt that you haven’t already ran into an Akiyama family member.
