SRP batman

Tazore

Level 2
What's your Minecraft Username?: Tazore
What's the title of your suggestion?: SRP batman

What's your suggestion?:
Karakura has a lot of crime, corruption, and gangs, but it's missing something. A vigilante. A Batman-like character. A person who works outside of the law to bring justice. The character does not need to be the same as Batman, but somebody who is mysterious, intelligent, and feared by the criminal underworld. A dark figure. A symbol of fear, a silent protector, and a watchful observer.

Possible perks: Special vehicles, tag, boosted attributes, higher combat rolling, ability to hide in the shadow, scale buildings (everything batman can do)
U1PE4c.jpg

How will this benefit the server and community?:
A symbol... A person who frightens criminals and makes the players question whom to trust. It creates tension, suspense, and memories of roleplaying. Able to clean up the streets and get the job done, but it is something which cannot be achieved by the police.

This could also be (and imo would be cool if it were) implemented by players in the community. If you want to RP a vigilante who fights crime outside of the law, you can totally do that - you just need to build that reputation for your character. In the end, I think that's also leagues more fun than having that created by staff.

I DO see the appeal of it being an event team character for boosts and things and special commands - so you could always suggest that to Tippie or another member so they could discuss that.

+1

I support this because its a pretty cool idea to be fair. I mean sometimes police cant do the same things as a vigalante could possibly do.

definfitely support this idea.

It's honestly open to adjustments, it's hard to roleplay someone who'd have combat training when rolls are purely luck, not everyone wans to P2L so having a staff supported event character would show how dangerous the vigilante is, since batman was trained by the league of shadows, he is like that one guy you never want to run into.

Absolutely not. As cool as it sounds, overall It seems like a pretty bad and imbalanced idea. Like what Wethecreature said Just make yourself known in the community ICly and actually become one. You don't need a perk to allow you do "fight crime", If you want to have higher rolls for combat just apply for KPD since they can /roll 200.

Also there's a reason why Vigilantism is Illegal, so if anything "fighting Crime" does not make you any better then the criminals you fight back.

Would say this is the reason you should make your own vigilante chars if you're interested in this idea! The moralities of this could def be interesting to explore

As someone who plays a Batman fanboy vigilante character here are some of my thoughts regarding this.

I'll start with the obvious point that this would be insanely overpowered, even if it's just one person. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by special vehicles, but if it's a fraction of what the Bat-Mobile is than yeah that's basically a superpower. But things like boosted attributes, higher rolling amounts, ability to hide in the shadows, and scaling buildings is like so unbalanced for any sort of crime roleplay situation. Things like this would likely be reserved for a flash event, and in cases like that these characters are played by Event Team Members or staff.

But to put these abilities into perspective, imagine if ONE KPD officer could do all those things. Thats no fun for anyone at all ESPECIALLY for crime roleplayers! In comics, Batman can one tap people, but that's only cool with they're nameless characters you see for half a panel and are never seen again, not when there's an actual person behind the screens trying to have fun. KPD is already a massive deterrent to crime roleplayers considering that one shot from a tazer or tranq has their character locked up for months at a time.

Moving on, P2L and rolling. People will P2L with you WAY more often than you think they will, and you will never know if you don't ask! A simple 'hey do you wanna P2L or roll?' before the fight does WONDERS. Honestly, the best way to GET people to want to P2L with you is with a good first impressions, that show off your character's personality and that they could be a potential adversary to someone else's character. Everyone is their own main character in roleplay so sometimes you gotta play into that side of people, set up something that could be fun and interesting if they played along. You have to WANT to roleplay, and you have to make people WANT to roleplay with you.

Let's say every single person you want to roleplay with says no to P2L, that's fine! Batman gets his butt kicked A LOT, sometimes the bad guys win the fight, and Batman goes home to lick his wounds. However, he's always back to patrolling his city the next night and THAT is part of what makes him scary. Get beat up sometimes, part of becoming the best and being loved by the people you want to protect is to show you are willing to be hurt for them.

Not into combatRP? Have you forgotten Batman is a DETECTIVE? Don't worry a lot of people have. Batman is insanely smart and has SO MUCH INFORMATION ON SO MANY PEOPLE!! Be an intelligence-based Batman taking down criminals in a slightly more legal way. #Manen

You are into combatRP, but don't like getting beat up? Strength in numbers. Yes, Batman is known for being a solo vigilante, but he's not so solo anymore. He has his collection of allies (depending on the comic) like: Nightwing, RedHood, RedRobin, Robin, Oracal/BatGirl, Black Bat, Signal, Alfred, Gordon, Black Cat (sometimes), and then ENTIRE Justice League backing him up (even if they aren't allowed in Gotham). You could create a Justice League or BatFam inspired gang. I know I'd love to join that, but only if I could be RedHood (pre- Redhood and the Outlaws, #RedHoodMovieWhen???).

And finally, I'll end this off with some of my PERSONAL THOUGHTS regarding what exactly a Karakurian Batman is.

A Karakurian Batman doesn't need to be a billionaire like Bruce Wayne. They don't need the fancy tech, the special tag, or all these fun perks that you mentioned, because that's the Batman that Gotham needs. Karakura has its own, unique collection of problems, problems that a Bruce Wayne couldn't fix, not properly at least.

The Batman that Karakura needs is just an everyday citizen who's tired of the crime and goes out into the streets to do something about it. No special gadgets, no billions of dollars, only justice.

TL;DR: I already roleplay as Karakura's Batman

Major -1, we do not need this in the slightest. If you want to fight crime, either rp a vigilante using what is already available (BMD, and anti-crime gangs) or join the KPD faction.

This is extremely valid, I can see why it'd be too op for a normal player. Having a bunch of special things could make it unfun for normal players. Also, having a gang inspired on the batfam would be great, I'd love to join that too and I call dibs on batman or Damian (the robin most like batman in terms of personality imo).

I see exactly what you mean as Karakura isn't Gotham, we don't have super crazy clowns, or man-eating crocodile people, just having a guy or gang running around beating the living out of thugs can be enough. Only issue I have is when stalking or hiding to watch players, there's not really good spots that can keep you hidden or can physically be dark enough that I found, being able to climb rooftops to lurk would be such a cool thing, and maybe it couldn't just be a batman thing but an everybody thing, rooftop police chases, gangs threating to push someone off rooftops, just having tall areas to climb around the city could add a lot more to crimeRP.

I don't really have any input or response to the rest you said other than I understand and agree.

Look at what lobster said.. That basically sums up my opinion [Other than that Keon plays Karakuras batman already]
