In game time

What's your Minecraft Username?: ELEKsplosion
What's the title of your suggestion?: In game time

What's your suggestion?:
Hi there! I used to play this game ALL THE TIME! I love it, however, the time in between school ending and starting, goes on for hours. It takes way too long for the actual main part of the game to start; SchoolRP. I always join to roleplay at the minecraft school and i somehow always join at 8pm, so I always end up leaving the game because I am not going to wait hours. If you guys could fix up the timing here, maybe skips some parts of the night or make the afternoon/night hours go faster, that would really get more people playing. Otherwise there is just nothing to do

How will this benefit the server and community?:
More engagement

I majorly disagree. I will lay the tracks out for you to pick up; despite it being called School Roleplay, it is a lot more like a city roleplay/simulator. There are outside factions separate from the school that wont survive if the time outside of school hours is sped up/skipped. Not to mention. A lot, if not most roleplay happens outside of school, other than sport teams, clubs and classes. Bottom line - this is an impossible request and just cannot work for several reasons that I cant be bothered to list.

I will say the time on ICly weekends is faster than the time during ICly weekdays. So that gives us more time to have school and makes the weekdays longer, which makes the school days longer. I believe weekday time is 6 hours IRL time, and on the weekend it's 4 hours. A staff member or anybody who knows could correct me on that.

Fair enough, however like I said - especially for new players - there is nothing to do.

Yeah, my feedback was based on the afternoons/nights

Also it would work by adding more features to the game to give players things to do, the game can't rely on roleplaying with other players during these hours of spare time as there simply isn't enough players, just a suggestion to add something

I do agree that SchoolRP should always prioritize two big factors: 1) School Roleplay, inside of schoolgrounds and 2) Learning, either by going to classes, through communities, or by joining factions. This, at least for what I think, should be the focus of this server.

As much as I agree that this server should be centered around the school, we cannot ignore that free time is also needed in this game. I have stated in a similar suggestion regarding to this: Being outside of school is an opportunity for students to expand their roleplay; meeting with your family after school, using your money to go eat at a local restaurant, annoy Sharktism at Shrine and be struck by lightning, etc. Having the opportunity to expand on your character's roleplay should also be considered when talking about these matters.

I do agree that new members should have more opportunities to expose themselves to the server and learn what this game has to offer to you. I have met a lot of new players who ended up joining factions and even ended up being Higher Ups and taking leadership roles, but most of the time this wasn't necessarily done through being inside of school grounds. It was more by getting as much exposure and being open to expand your roleplay and commit mistakes (always following the rules).

Lastly, learning, which should be a focus of this server in my opinion, can be done in ways outside of school grounds. Take my example as evidence; I was completely ignorant of any Law related stuff until I joined the Government faction. Granted, you don't learn the same stuff as you would IRL, nor the factions are as close to reality as some would like it to be, but it does peak the interest of people, and it motivates them to learn more about the area they represent. It was due to that why I ended up in Law School, crazy, yes, but regardless, it does give people interest in areas they might like IRL, and that's exactly why I am a hard believer that learning outside of school grounds and inside should be equally important in SRP.

So, yes. I agree that there could be ways to improve engagement, specially for newer players, but I don't think that the solution should be limiting or reducing the amount of time outside of school ground. I really like that you come up and speak about these matters, even if we disagree on it, because they do give insight of what other stuff are important for this server; in your case, newer players and engagement.
