Do you understand that most answers are found in the roleplay documents?: I do understand, though I plan to use my prior knowledge and experience as a teacher to fill out this application.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?: Yes, I fully understand, and will continue being an active teacher if I am to switch classes.

Do you understand that all classroom activity must be documented on the “Teacher Roster” thread?: Seeing as though this question is a bit outdated, my response will be this; I will be sure to properly document my classes in the #classroom-logs channel.

Describe your activity on the server and the forums: I am an active player on the server, logging in on a near daily basis. My contribution to roleplay mainly focuses around me as a teacher, be it in class, or simply around the campus; however, I also have a place on the student council and volleyball team, both of which I participate in to the best of my ability.

I’m much less of an active user on the forums however; more often than not, if I decide to check them, I’m simply browsing interesting threads, such as character applications or ban appeals. If I have something to contribute to a conversation, I’ll put in my two cents, but that sums up my activity on the forums pretty well.

Trivia
What is your motivation for changing subjects?: I wish to move on from Mathematics to Sociology for one simple reason; I’ve run out of ideas for interactive and engaging math lessons to teach. As a math teacher on SRP, you are expected to teach math to a group of individuals, all at different levels of understanding of the subject. Some could be in pre-algebra, others could be taking AP Calculus; for me, it’s impossible to land on a subject that meets the criteria for being engaging, challenging, and interactive for every student involved.

I’m confident in the fact that if I was to be a Sociology teacher, the quality and quantity of my classes would skyrocket, as I can think of many more engaging Sociology lessons than I ever could for Mathematics.

Do you have any experience in roleplaying?: My main experience with roleplay comes from SchoolRP, as this is the community I have been the most active in; however, I do have prior experiences. Before migrating to this server, I had participated in tabletop roleplay games, such as DnD and Pathfinder, as well as role playing with small groups on platforms such as Discord, Amino, and miscellaneous minecraft creative servers.

I have plenty of experience roleplaying as a teacher, as I’ve held this position for nearly 5 months in total (as of posting this application). I know precisely what it’s like to create a lesson plan, give a thorough lesson, and adapt the plan based on situations that may occur. I understand that being a teacher holds me to a higher level of responsibility compared to a normal player, and am confident when I say that I’m an experienced teacher.

Have you read the Faculty Handbook?: no

What are the classroom logs and why is it important?: The classroom logs exist to inform the faction lead how many classes a teacher has done by the end of the month, so that their activity can be checked. It is also used to determine how much a teacher will be paid (if at all).

You want to start a school field trip; how do you do that?: In one of the teacher documents, it stated that if one wishes to hold a field trip, they must use a specific application on the forums; however, I don’t believe this is the case anymore. If I were to want to host a field trip, I would contact the current faction lead, pitching my idea to them personally, instead of having an application unchecked in an empty thread. From there, I assume we would need to bring it to the event team / 6, where we would discuss it further, and either drop it or then continue planning it out.

As a teacher, what are the strict rules when being in a class?: The spoiler below contains each of my rules, with a brief explanation as to why it has been put in place.

One: Respect everybody in the room, student or faculty: Ensures a classroom environment which tolerates zero negativity between both students and faculty.

Two: Usage of any distractions (such as phones) is prohibited: Prevents students from diverting their attention from the topic at hand.

Three: Refrain from any sort of violence: Ensures the classroom is a safe environment for learning, and prevents serious situations that would require higher intervention (V.P. / KPD)

Four: Do not yell, or speak out of turn: Prevents disruptions, maintaining order in the classroom.

Five: Refrain from any private discussions: Prevents distracting conversation, and promotes discussion amongst the entire class.

Six: Raise your hand if you wish to speak: Provides an opportunity for each individual to participate in the discussion at hand.

Seven: Do not eat or drink without permission, with the exception of water bottles: Promotes basic manners, as eating through a discussion is usually considered to be rude, and keeps the classroom clean.

Eight: Stay seated, unless instructed otherwise: Prevents individuals from distracting one another, and maintains order in the classroom.

Nine: Vulgar language of any kind is prohibited: Encourages not only a more professional vocabulary, but a less hostile one in general.

Ten: Be willing to learn and participate: Generally important for being in any class. Unmotivated students are to refrain from taking the seats from those who may be dedicated to their education.

Each rule is subject to change at any moment, and rules may be added or removed at will of the teacher.

Summarize your previous RP experiences: To quickly restate what I had said previously, the majority of my roleplaying experience has been on SchoolRP; that being said, I have spent a good deal of time roleplaying through other mediums, such as over tabletop games or discord communities.

Teacher Ranking System:
HD (Head of Department): The HD is the highest rank a teacher can achieve, and is only granted to one per subject (usually the one who’s been teaching said subject the longest). They are responsible for their subordinates, and are tasked with monitoring them to ensure they are doing their jobs properly. As an HD, you are expected to be a dedicated, active, and motivated team leader.

QTLS (Qualified Teacher in Learning Skills): QTLS is a title one will be appointed to after they prove their worth as a teacher. Being the second highest ranking, they are responsible for ensuring the NQTs are doing their job properly, as well as keeping themselves in check.

NQT (Newly Qualified Teacher): NQTs are essentially new teachers. Upon being accepted as a teacher for the first time, you will receive this rank, and will hold it until you are promoted to QTLS. NQTs are monitored by their superiors (HD / QTLS / VP), and are generally much less polished than the other teachers, as they are still figuring out their teaching style.

Teacher Knowledge
Present to us your knowledge about teachers in-game and out-of-game
: Teachers are responsible for bringing up the next generation of humans that will walk this earth, by preparing them for what’s to come next: their real life. If a teacher only shares knowledge of academic subjects, then they do not understand the fundamentals of their responsibilities; teachers must act as a guide, a role model and a leader, teaching and preparing their disciples for what they will be faced with in the future.

Teaching is most definietly not a job you do for money (at the very least, not at the highschool level). When a teacher starts, their base salary is often less than desirable; as time goes on however, this will improve significantly, as they have opportunities to take on more roles, and will generally be paid more for being a longer term teacher. On the SchoolRP server, teachers are paid a minimum salary of 250k, granted they have completed 15 classes. From then on, they are paid 50k for every 5 classes they complete; If one was to complete 30 classes, they would obtain 400k.

Teachers are all unique in their own way, and each one has their own “style” of teaching. Some may follow a bland curriculum without failure, others may bring life to what they are teaching through engaging and interactive lessons. Some people may learn better under the former teacher in comparison to the latter; there is no inherently wrong style of teaching, as everybody expresses and comprehends knowledge differently. It is up to the teacher to ensure their students are actually learning the information by adapting to these differences.

Teachers spend their spare time doing what any normal person does: normal people things. Despite what some people may think, teachers are human too, and have their own lives, families, problems, joys, struggles, hobbies, and many more things that they do outside of school. Keeping this in mind, they are still expected to act as a leader when they can, even outside of the classroom. But to put it simply, teachers are just normal human beings.

Why are teachers important to the SchoolRP server?: Teachers are important for a multitude of reasons; for starters, the rank is one which holds the responsibility of being one of the first people newer players will turn to for assistance. They also provide an opportunity for people to roleplay and meet new people: the classroom. I am of the opinion that the classroom is not only a great place to roleplay, but also to learn about the server itself; you have at least one experienced player, and more often than not, a handful of players willing to help you out with getting started. Teachers provide and sustain an environment where both new and veteran players alike can go to enjoy roleplay, which is what I believe the most important aspect of a teacher is.

What lesson planning system does the school work on?: KHS functions on MOSCO, which stands for Must have, should have, could have.

Character Knowledge
General Information
: Tsubaki Sakiyama is a woman of Japanese descent, born July 18th 1974. Her most defining feature is her stoic expression, one that rarely falters. Her seemingly uncaring demeanor is only shattered upon communicating with the woman, who clearly does what she can to assist those in need.

Within the confines of the KHS campus, Miss Sakiyama acts, dresses with, and expects professionalism from those she communicates with; whether it be student or faculty, she will not tolerate anything less than what is socially acceptable.

Contrary to this, when she is not in an environment that calls for professionalism, Tsubaki is a bit of a slob; her appearance is poorly maintained, she speaks almost too casually, and her focus is usually not on whatever task she has set out to complete.

What is her personality like?: Miss Sakiyama’s actions reflect those who she is surrounded by. If she were in the ideal classroom, one with respectful students and meaningful discussion, Sakiyama would be much more lenient and friendly.

On the contrary, if her classroom was filled with obnoxious individuals who were there to ruin the classroom environment for everybody else, Sakiyama would be a strict and cold teacher, one who isn’t hesitant to dish out punishment.

Regardless of her company, Miss Sakiyama’s basic principles and morals would remain unchanged; she rarely feels influenced by other individuals, as she tends to hold herself to a high standard that has been personally set by herself.

What is her outlook on students?: She sees students as people who are capable of learning; while some are more willing than others, she is confident in the fact that if they put their mind to it, they are capable. Though, she will not waste her time with students who clearly don’t want to put effort into their education. Miss Sakiyama is a firm believer of the “you only get what you put in” mentality. If a student is to come to class, participate, ask questions, and put in the time to do well in class, she will support them to the best of their ability; likewise, if a student is to rarely attend class, slack off, and not pay attention, she will disregard them until they show initiative into improving themselves.

What is her plan for the future?: For now, Tsubaki has no larger goals in mind for the future; she simply wishes to live a semi-peaceful life in Karakura, making enough money to support herself and her hobbies.

Physical Description: Tsubaki Sakiyama is an average Japanese woman, standing at 5’9 and weighing 146lbs. Complimented well by light blue eyes, her pale face is a tired one, often with sunken eyes and a wrinkled brow. Her choice of attire reflects her personality as a whole; while in a professional environment, she dresses herself well, wears proper makeup, and is generally well-kempt. If she is to be seen in public on her time off, she could quite easily be mistaken for a shut in on a grocery run; having a complete disregard for her appearance, her hair would be unbrushed, clothing sloppy, and her posture would be slouched.

Scenarios
You find a gang of delinquents in the hallway cursing and swearing, what do you do?
: Miss Sakiyama would notify them of the scene they’re making, kindly asking them to either compose themselves, or relocate to a less populated area. If they were to refuse, she’d threaten detentions. If they were to refuse further, Sakiyama would call for assistance from either the V.P. or any available faculty members. If she suspects they are in possession of something illegal, Sakiyama would notify the KPD.

No one in your class is listening to a word you say, what do you do?: In chaotic classrooms, there’s often an individual or small group which causes the most problems. Knowing this, Miss Sakiyama would single them out, welcoming them to leave her classroom. As an act of kindness, she would notify them of the lesson they would be taking in detention if they chose to leave, as well as the lesson they would take if they were to continue to disrupt her class.

When in the teachers’ lounge, how does Miss Sakiyama act?: Her behavior would not change much, as she still considers the teachers’ lounge to be a professional aspect of her working environment. She would act the same as ever; kind, yet unappreciative of unprofessional behavior.

Backstory
Sakiyama’s backstory has yet to be fully completed; I’m not a fan of releasing a full story that is lazily written (as I have done multiple times in the past). As I do not wish to sloppily rush together a full backstory, I will be simply linking to my second and third teacher applications, where both a general outline of Sakiyama's life, as well as a more detailed biography of her time prior to living in Karakura can be read. I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.
