Oh 100%, it's something that will exist no matter what. I've unfortunately just seen, and directly experienced, this sort of process ruin IC scenarios for my character. Like, an entire dynamic cut off randomly with no RP to transition it.

I agree with old shading being better and constant detailRP being unappealing. I'll add my own: OOC friend groups dictate IC interactions more than it should, especially when it trickles into faction-related IC stuff.

Yes, the server buckled hard but stayed up (perhaps that's why it felt like more lag, who knows) I do fully agree that it's a consideration to be had about ensuring everyone can experience the event!
