General description

Description: Paranormal events or magic, are events which lack a process, this means magical events lack physical explanations. Paranormals are any concieveable thing that can trigger any paranormal event. Paranormals are entities, objects, places, or complex events that that are found across Karakura. From ghosts to spirits, to cursed places. KUERT has decided to make a list out of everything found about the Paranormals. As other documents paranormals follow the next naming scheme. P-(XX) (NAME). P stand for, of course Paranormal. XX is the number distinctive and the NAME is the name of the Paranormal. Paranormals follow the same classification as groups (Safe, Keter, Thaumiel etc...). Enitites are also classified in blocks, depending on the type of entity we are talking about.

P-01 Kitsa

Description: Kitsa is appears to be a woman of undetermined age who wears traditional Japanese clothes and a white fox mask. She seems to have fox like features such as a variable number of fox tails, usually nine tails. Kitsa, is in fact, made up of nine souls, each of them manifest as a tail, and all of which become an individual divine fox when detached from the deity. It is worth mentioning that on their own, the souls have less power and thought processing capacity.

Objective: She guards and protects the Shrine, she has also defended and saved peoples lives. Another duty she has as a demigod is to guide souls of the dead to Yomi. This means that in a way she is similar to Anubis (Considering that she has seen a lot of death around her, please avoid asking her about her job or about wars... I speculate it might be a touchy subject.)

History: Not much is known of her before the Grim October, period of time which she spent defending the shrine and the Ochiba forest from other enities. After that, she left our realm in (2X/12/2023) due to personal reasons. During the January of 2024, she came back to our realm. Nowadays, if you are lucky, you will find her in the shrine. She has been involved in multiple incidents, usually to solve problems related to spiritual matters.

- P-05:IN-01 (The never found are back) - (XX/06/2023): During an expedition of [REDACTED], she found herself attacked by two paranormals, later identified as P-04 and P-05. - P-5:IN-02 (The incident of Masamaru station) - (20/07/2024): The incident happened during an expedition the Occult club did into the Masamaru station, with the intention of documenting about the Paranormals P-04 and P-05, the club was being protected by two maidens and some reporters came along with them to find some footage. During the expedition the spirit seems to have taken on his usual behaviour, such as (calling for help, screaming of pain...). Once the expedition seemed to be over and the Club had reunited inside the Church, the spirit showed up and dissapeared with a maiden taking her to an unknown place. The maiden seems to have been able to survive the incident.

Objective: To create chaos, take revenge against the gods and feed off the souls of his victims.

History: He died so many years ago. He went through a traumatic death. An imbalance in his soul, and insane amount of determination led him to become a ghost. However it is theorised he haunted humans and attacked them and therefore some time after that he was sealed by an unknown individual. Then he came back during the grim october and attacked many people, causing harms and cursing anyone who got into his path. After certain showdown against the forces of the shrine, it is thought he was sealed again.

Description: The things are a set of individual spirits which are found all over the world, each instance of P-07 has it's own name following the pattern ("prefix")thing, nothing, anything, everything, something, and so on. They are described to have very persuasive voices.
He seems to be a boy with dark hair and dark skin. A few bloodstains cover him. He is missing both of his eyes.

Objective: They seem to want to taunt people and make them suffer throught the manipulation of their victims.

- Manipulation: Unlike other spirits, the things are not known for possessing individuals but they make use of their voices to manipulate individuals into turning in against close ones, causing hopelessness around the individuals friends. Given that it is not a possession it does not require cleansing rituals once the spirit leaves.
- Teleportation: He can teleport himself.
- Tripper: He seems to be able to make people fall slip, and clumsily take bad actions.
Objective: They seem to want to taunt people and make them suffer throught the manipulation of their victims.
Inicidents:
- P-07:IN-01 (The stalk is on point) - (11/10/2023): During the night nothing stalked a few police officers after they allegedly played with a Ouija. The officers would have called for help in the shrine and in the middle of the chaos, Asami Jabaitsume would have been thrown off the cliff by him. The group decided to flee to the hospital, however that the officers were chased by his presence all the way there. They managed to arrive midly injured, Asami survived the fall.

Type: Spirit | Class: Thaumiel | Place of appearance: Karakura Church and Surrounding Environs | Title: The Immaculate Conception | Status: Active |
Description: Originally thought to be supernatural phenomena causing movement of statues of the Virgin Mary. However, after successive incidents: it is clear this is a singular spirit that can act through statues, causing them to move.
Reports attest to the Spirit self identifying as “The Immaculate Conception” on numerous occasions, causing many to perceive the spirit and incidents where it materializes as ‘Marian Apparitions’, supernatural events in which the Virgin Mary (the mother of Jesus) is alleged to have appeared to one or more people.
Powers:
Objective: P-10 has a vested interest in safeguarding the Karakura Church.
It appears to have become active after Incident P-5:IN-02, whereby a Shrine Maiden was abducted inside the Karakura Church. Allegedly, it appeared some months later and accurately foretold the Shrine Maiden’s death, and made further appearances in response to other spirits infiltrating the Karakura Church.
The spirit has made repeated and highly disparaging comments about other entities listed on the DOI-002 Paranormal list, in particular, [REDACTED]. Further, incident reports speak of it advising, encouraging, and warning people from time to time.
Incidents:
The Statue’s disappearance caused great distress among Church worshipers, but Church employees report finding it stationary in the Masamaru Train Station and decided not to alert the authorities. This proves to be pointless, as Incident P-10:IN-01 occurs shortly after this movement.
Following the incident, the statue is eventually recovered from the abandoned station and placed in the basement of the Church, where it presently remains. Though, there are sporadic reports that it occasionally goes missing for brief periods.
Summoning: Not applicable, though the spirit has a clear fondness for rosaries and flowers.

During Incident P-10:IN-04, one of the gathered individuals was suspicious of P-10 and refused to fulfil its request, openly vocalizing his extreme distrust. The statue was seen to offer a sorrowful expression before revealing a stone etching of a Heart on its chest (iconography now identified as ‘The Immaculate Heart of Mary’) which cracked and began to bleed. This is the only known incident where the spirit (or perhaps, the statue it is using to ‘appear’) was seen to sustain damage.

- The statues are inordinately heavy: not hollow. Attempts to move, topple, or otherwise desecrate these statues should be avoided.
- P-10 has been described as occasionally appearing wearing a ‘crown of thorns’ made of silver, holding a rosary made up of blue crystalline beads.
- P-10 has also acted through a what had been identified as an statue of buddah.
Powers:
- Flame: Reports indicate the spirit is capable of conjuring flame and light.
- Healing Capabilities: The spirit has demonstrated limited healing capabilities
- Future Sight/Visions: The spirit has demonstrated knowledge of future events, specifically death. The extent of its ability to peer into the future is not known, but its ability to share glimpses into the future via visions has been reported.
- Anomalous Tears: Statues have reportedly ‘shed tears’ since (XX/09/2024). Tears have reportedly transmogrified into ‘Miraculous Medals’, devotional medals dating back to the 1830s.

- Euphoria Inducement: Ability to induce feelings of intense inner warmth and euphoria, especially upon accepting invitations to attempt physical contact.

- P-10:IN-01 (The statue is moving.) - (XX/07/2024): From time to time people would see the statue of Virgin Mary moving by itself towards the sewers, after a few incidents KPD was involved in the sitaution. The public explanation was a gas leak which would have lead to hallucinations, yet it wasn't the first time it happened and the most recent events happened after the leak has been dealt with. Interviews conducted with witnesses attest to the statue conjuring fire and ‘burning to the touch’. Further context concerning this incident occurred during P-10:IN-04 (Itsbyoshi Cave Revelations).
- P-10:IN-02 (The KPD incident) - (XX/10/2024): During the incident, twelve Mary statues total and one Buddha statue showed up at the KPD parking lot, all facing towards the KPD building, towards the sea. Three of the statues were all in a line right outside one of the doors to the KPD building, almost blocking it off. The statues have since vanished without a trace, and it is entirely unclear what the cause or purpose of this was.
- Incident P-10:IN-03- (07/10/2024): During the incident, the Spirit appeared to a group of Churchgoers and covertly brought them ‘upstairs’ in the Church building where it imparted a vision of a Shrine Maiden being pursued by a deadly blade. The group was instructed to go and immediately warn inhabitants of the shrine of the imminent danger. A few days later, a shrine maiden was found dead. This was the very same maiden from Incident P-5:IN-02.
- P-10:IN-04 (Itsbyoshi Cave Revelations) – (XX/10/2024): The Spirit appeared to multiple individuals, requesting that they bring paintbrushes and rosaries to a particular cave by the Itsbyoshi Trail. Once assembled, the spirit greeted the group with kindness, miraculously healed one of the individual’s broken limbs, and self-identified as “The Immaculate Conception”. The Spirit alluded to its ‘burning to the touch’ during Incident P-10:IN-01 as being, in actuality, the work of [REDACTED] and requested help from the assembled group healing the ‘damage done’ to The Spirit’s “Immaculate Heart”.
The 12 individuals were instructed to collectively depict the spirit by painting it on a canvas in the cave. Their painting transmorgified into a 1:1 recreation of Tiepolo ‘The Immaculate Conception’. Spirit stressed with urgency that the painting should be displayed publicly to ‘deter future spiritual attacks’ on Karakura’s citizens and its Church, warning that ‘even as they painted’ spirits were attempting to infiltrate the cave, but that it would ‘protect them’. Once the painting was finished and surrendered to one member of the group, P-14 made an appearance saying words to the effect of “I finally found you, stone”, causing the group to evacuate immediately.

History: The history of the god comes back to the "P-3:IN-01: (The occult club incident) - (22/02/1987)" during which, the occult club made a deal with the P-03. The deal would be to ascend an unknown member of the occult club to a demigod, in exchange of [MISSING_DATA]. The deal was successful and the student was ascended, however an unknown set of events had the students of the occult club smited, likely due to a deux ex machina, preventing the new demigod from effectively using it's powers and trapping them in [REDACTED] plane of reality, however the demigod is still, in some way, inside the boiler room.

- P-12:IN-01 (The cleave incident) - (XX/03/2022): During an expedition of a group of individuals into the abandoned Masamaru station and after travelling to POI-002. One of the individuals entered into one cell by themselves, while the group was in another close room of the POI-002. Out of nowhere, said individual was covered with slashes and cuts, causing them to scream and catch the group's attention.

- P-19:IN-02 (This is my home) - (05/10/2024): During certain interaction with another spirit. A group of people went into the underground, their identity will be kept secret. One of the individuals found Runa and interacted with her, becoming friends. Later on the individual followed Runa to what she called her home. Her home was the POI-TBA (The bathroom complez), next to POI-007 (The ghostbusting facility.). There the ghost interacted with many strangers. The most empathetic people decided to keep others away to stop her from becoming anxious. However two entities were also present. P-21 (Fūraimatsu) and P-23 (The whisperer). She was being whispered by P-23 which got her nervous. Our sources of information eventually left so we don't know what happened after.
- P-19:IN-03 (. . .) - (06/10/2024): During the night of that day, a group of people pressured Runa a lot, and even were hostile towards her. It is known they did worse to her than just throwing her an Ofuda. That led to her attacking the students and hurting them.

- P-27:IN-01 (Flower) - (16/10/2024): At the forest cabin, the ghost showed up appearing and dissapearing repeatedly. It also whispered "Keep of the grass" to some of the witnesses.
- P-27:IN-02 (Naturally) - (17/10/2024): The occult club had went on a trip into the POI-015 and when going into the basement a bunch of members were locked inside by the spirit, who claimed they had burnt flowers previously and ruined some shrubbery.
- P-27:IN-03 (Situational appearance in Itsbyoshi trail) - (19/10/2024): During night the occult club went for a trip into the Blood gate, the Beach and the Itsbyoshi trail, Hachisu made her presence known in the trail.
- P-27:IN-04 (Stupid kids make a situation go worse) - (20/10/2024): In the cabin area of the Ochiba forest, a group of hikers suffered a bear attack, near the cabin site. After the bears went away, Flower appeared and became furious, haunting people who were going to the shrine. After a while a group of priests and an ex maiden showed up and tried to calm her down. However a group of kids disturbed the spirit further which led to one of them ( his name is Leo as far as we know) to be pinned on a tree. Some of the priests got a bit nervous but they managed to get her to leave and relax. Runa and Furuimatsu also showed up.

- Heat: Considering that Carnauba Wax melts at around 70ºC - 85ºC. Theoretically the statues can be melted, however reaching those temperatures is quite complicated. However there is one substance that can be used to deal huge amount of damage, Ethyl acetate can disolve Carnauba Wax at around those temperatures and can combust quite easily. However this is a dangerous substance to use as it has some toxicity (Very low, but still toxic if consumed) and could cause some uncontrolled fires.

Description: The Polybius game machine seems to be an 80's arcade machine labeled Polybius. It seems to have a color scheme of mainly black along some blue patterns. The dimensions of the arcade machine is around 174 cm tall, 79 cm long and 68 cm wide.
The game itself seems to be a fast action game with a bunch of puzzle elements, with an unusual abstract aesthetic.
To be honest, the game might not actually be anomalous, as it does not seem to break the minimal action principle at any moment, instead it would be a very advanced piece of technology, yet that begs the question, how come this type of super advanced technology, able to cause epileptical effects on non-epilepsy affected individuals, would have been created in the past.

Powers:
- Psychoactive effects: Experiencing a game of Polybius has caused to some people, to suffer certain events known as "waves" in which the affected individual loses all sensorial information and falls to the ground, suffering from spasms and hallucinations. The individual is still able to talk during these waves but it's speech is somewhat impedimented due to the powerful psychoactive effects.
It is unknown what causes a wave to start or stop or how to predict how much time is between two waves, however it is confirmed that the waves will eventually stop after around a week or so.
There is also the mistery of how much exposure is required for being under the possibility of suffering the effects of the machine. Further testing is required to confirm whether recordings of the game can also cause these effects.
Objective: This would not be the objective of the machine, as it does lack consciousness, but we will be talking about the objective of the game as a whole. The game is thought to have been created as a way to test the effects of cognito hazardous multimedia on humans, however the objective of this would have likely been brain hacking or brain control, not a hypnotic one, but more of the type of mind control researched in the MKUltra program. To add on, this would have been something that could have likely been part of that project, yet, it would have been impossible considering that the program closed in 1973 and the Polybius incident started in 1981. Unless the MKUltra program did not actually end.

History:
- The Urban legends:(1981?): (Disclaimer, all of this section is to be considered a Urban legend.) In Portland (Oregon, US) around in 1981, a new arcade machine was introduced in some of the amusement arcades of the suburbian areas of the city. Even though the game had recieved no publicity and was absolutely unheard of, it was an instant hit, so much people made long lines just to play it and causing plentiful of fights to determine who would end up playing next. Eventually, players began suffering from psycological effects such as night terrors, insomnia, addiction or in the worst cases, amnesia and seizures. However this did in fact not last quite long, because just as quick as it showed up in the most important amusement arcades of the city, it left without a trace.
The company who made this product was called Sinneslöschen which translated to Japanese means "Sensory deprivation". However this german word seems to not be a quite idiomatic term, which could indicate that the company behind these products is not actually german but American. Adding this to the fact that aparently, during it's operational time, the machines and it's players were observed by some men in black, this has led to many to believe it was a part of a secret program of the US goverment related to testing psychoactives on people. One which was likely related or if not part of MKUltra plan.
- The rumors begin:(1998-2024): (This part is 100% real and does not contain any part of the Urban legend.) The first record of the Urban legend reaching the internet was in 1998, in which an article created at coinop.org began explaining the premise of the Urban Legend and all the details surrounding it. After that the subject remained silent until "Secrets and Lies", an article written at Gamepro, exposed for the first time the urban legend to the vast audicence of the interentet, the article itself pondered about the possibility of the arcade game existing and it's research was found to be inconclusive, generating more mystery. After that, the Polybius became a Urban legend symbol and began being referenced in pop culture media. Further research from other sources found that the legend itself could have been caused by some coincidental events. Which were that two teens suffered a migraine and collapse into the floor while playing the arcade game called "Tempest", and that a raid was carried out in certain amusement arcade by the FBI due to the owners using some machines for Illegal gambling.
Some mock up recreations of what would a real polybius machine look like. They are not real instances of the P-30
- Was it all rumors?:(2024 - now): During the reconstruction of the occult club after the events of the October of 2024, a polybius machine was found at the occult club. Everyone originally believed it was a recreation of what a Polybius arcade machine would look like, however it was a very old machine. During an unknown date. Some members of the club played the game and some of them began suffering seizures and epileptic-like effects, catching the eyes of the KUERT.

History

Before KUERT: The Itsbyoshi rise (1956 - 1964), The Education Boom (1964 -1987), Westernization (1987 - 2006), Before the Storm (2006 - 2017).

These sections will follow the alleged paranormal events that took place after the end fo the Second World War before the presence of KUERT. The sections of this part follow the eras proposed by the renowed historian Hashirama Takagi, in his book, the "History of Karakura". Certain periods have been omitted due to the lack of paranormal's activity. Bear in mind this section is a recopilatory of events rather than a full deep dive.
The Itsbyoshi rise (1956 - 1964): During the Itsbyoshi rise, the Karakura island suffered a notable amount of new paranormal's activity. Some of these incidents were: the dissapearance of William Richards, an american explorator who dissapeared in the areas of the Itsbyoshi forest; The Kohaku hut incident, in which some students were haunted by an spirit which resided in said hut: The last incident was the murder of Matsuoka Takara, in which a student stabbed the teacher an obscene amount of times, the student showed no indication of remembering the incident as her own actions, which was especulated to have been the result of a possesion.
The Education Boom (1964 - 1987): Was a calm period of time regarding paranormal activity, there was no known relevant paranormal activity.
Westernization (1987-2006): The westernization saw the creation of two new Paranormals, P-05 (Shibata Saburo) and P-04 (Kajiwara Hanako). The event which caused this was the Masamaru station collapse of (25/09/2005), the traumatic deaths of the individuals led them to haunt the station.
Before the Storm (2006 - 2017): During this period, there was no big confirmed paranormal activity, however the dissapearances of many individuals in the Itsbyoshi forest were speculated to be caused by paranormal activity, just like it happened with the dissapearance of William Richards.
The current day (XX/XX/2017 - 24/06/2023)

In the current day, many new incidents have arised regarding paranormal's and the amount of people who believe on paranormals has sky-rocketed. There are many. Especially during the period of time between (2022-now). Here is a big description of how the Paranormal's history developed during the past years.
The rise in Paranormal's activity is thought to have happened during the 2022. However there are incidents that go back to even 2020, however not many of them are confirmed. Some of the most notable incidents are; the summoning of a ghost in the school faculty. Via the use of a ouija a group of student journalist managed to get video footage of a ghost appearance; The P-12:IN-01 in which a group of teenagers went into POI-002 and one of them was seriously injured by the paranormal known as the "prisioner". It is especulated that there were more, however those two are the ones which were documented and presented enough evidence to be considered as potential paranormals.
KUERT's first contact with paranormals (XX/06/2023 - 23/09/2023)

This punctual section is more of an addendum that doesn't have historical relevance outside KUERT's team, however we feel the need to explain our first experience with ghosts.
For the KUERT these stories were only tales and Urban leyends. They were ignored by the Team until one bad night. [RANK-A REQUIRED] contacted the team, claimed she was attacked by a ghost in POI-003 and that she almost lost her leg. The thruth about her injuries was confirmated. The team increased the difficulty of exploration for POI-003, but some members stood skeptical.
In that day, one of the KUERT agents saw a masked woman with a traditional cloths from the medieval Japan. She also watched her teleport an individual in mid air to the ground in order to save them from falling down a cliff. Her weird attitude caused curiousity in the agent, who asked about the weird woman to the priests. The priests confirmed she was an ancient spirit who guarded the Shrine. During the following 20 days no ghost was divised.
The Grim October. (06/10/2023 - 31/10/2023)

The Grim October was a series of multiple paranormal incidents which took place during the month of October. They are known to be most massive paranormal event that Karakura has ever presenced.
During the night of the 6th of october an agent presenced anomalous entities that were very similar to Ghost face and HeadlesshorseMan. The entities appeared and dissapeared randomly, made light flicker and more anomalies. During the incident; a kid was kidnapped, someone got 2nd degree burns, and a proffessor got her toe cut off. After this event KUERT prepared for aiding anyone lost in the woods and find the thruth behind the paranormal entites.
There were more incidents. Confirming that the Ochiba forest and the Itsboyoshi trail were presenting a concerning increase in paranormal activity. The amount of injured or affected individuals is currently unknown. The Shinsei Sienaru monastery staff were the ones who took on the iniciative to fight back, and they are speculated to have dealed with Hwan Jabiatsume and plentiful of other powerful paranormals. However, they were not able to stop all incidents.
With the end of october most of the anomalous activity ceased. There are theories about some event that sealed the ghosts but KUERT was not there to report it.
With this unknown "event" the Paranormal activity went to it's previous levels, with roughly monthly appearances of the paranormals. However it left a great scar in the hearts of the victims. Another consequence of the grim october was that the number of individuals who believe in paranormals rose significantly.
The Karakura highschool events. (31/10/2023 - XX/06/2024)

Compared to the chaos of the grim october, the period of peace lacked consistent and repeated amount of paranormal activity. Until at the begining of 2024, in Karakura highschool, students started to report a bigger amount of paranormal encounters. Most of them, were reported by the individual Brandy Millwell. There were many different incidents, however, none of them resulted in injuries to the students of Karakura Highschool and College.
Masamaru station's parnormalities rise. (XX/06/2024 - XX/09/2024)

During the summer of 2024, specifically in August, paranormal activity at Masamaru Station increased. New reports emerged of paranormal events and entities. The incidents involved are P-10 and P-5
P-5:IN-02: The incident at Masamaru Station on 20/07/2024 occurred during a trip taken by the Occult Club. They were accompanied by two maidens and two news reporters. Those involved in the descent gathered at the meeting place, the church, at around 2:00 AM. The group organized their descent into Masamaru Station in two waves. The first wave descended around 3:00 AM and exited around 5:00 AM. The second group descended at around 5:15 AM and exited around 7:15 AM. During the first descent, paranormal appearances and events were minimal, but during the second one, paranormal events became more frequent, leading the maidens to call for the immediate exit of POI-003. The group reunited at the church; however, the spirit known as Hibata Saburo appeared and teleported away with a maiden. The news station reported the incident as a case involving a homeless man.
P-10:IN-01: The second incident is a series of events that culminated in a major incident. The statue of the Virgin Mary at the church was rumored to have moved by itself towards Masamaru Station. After multiple complaints from visitors who claimed they felt watched by the statue and noticed its sudden movements, it was eventually locked inside the church basement. The KPD was involved in the final part of the incident and covered it up as a gas leak that supposedly caused hallucinations. However, the statue continued to move even after the supposed gas leak had been fixed.
As a result, KUERT increased the danger ratings of POI-003. KUERT is closely monitoring Masamaru Station, and regardless of who you are - gang member, police officer, or urban explorer - we strongly advise you to stay away from POI-003.
The paranormal incidents of Masamaru station are still being investigated to this day. However the eyes of not only KUERT, but all of Karakura's citizens are put on the calendar, to be especific, october. The people rightiously fear that the tragedies of the grim october take place again, and considering how the amount of paranormal's activities rose during the summer, it is expected an all time maximun during october. Luckily, KUERT is gathering all information that could make a citizen be able to defend against any spirit.
Some notions about spirits

How ghosts are born.

Ghosts are the souls of human that are reside in the mortal realm. Not every human who dies stays in this realms. To become a ghost, the soul has to be imbalanced and hold a unbreakable will. Such will keeps you in our realm and resists the attraction of the Yomi, the realm of the deceased.
Traumatic deaths, people who die in battle etc... Are a very common way of forming a ghost. As the will to survive and the persons balance rise in it's maximum expression.
How to cleanse a person previously possessed.

After a possession incident done by an spirit and once the person has been freed from the possession. One must go to the shrine to call for a cleansing. If no shrine Maidens or Priests are available, the following ritual can be done by normal people to cleanse anyone. This ritual is highly experimental and might be incomplete, therefore, it must be done only on emergencies.
- First step: An ofuda with the text "cleanse" must be put on the forehead of the person who is going to be cleansed.
- Second step: A circle of salt must be made around the person.
- Third step: Blessed water must be poured on the individual's hands, they must drop it then on their mouth and then spit it to the side.
- Fourth step: An smudge stick must be burnt in the room, filling the air with smoke, once the air is slightly tainted with smoke, the smudge stick must be passed foward to the individual recieving the cleansing.
- Fifth step, once the individual has breathed a bit of the smoke, the smudge stick must be stomped on and turned off. With this, the ritual is complete.

Electromagnetic fields tend to be distorted around spirits. This will be seen in how devices start having short circuits. So when meeting an spirit one must take into account.
- Flashlights will usually flicker and even stop working.
- Cameras will also take pictures incorrectly, making it impossible to take pictures properly.
- Electromagnetic detectors will start detecting anomalous electromagnetic field excitations.
- Compasses and GPS: Compasses might point to directions that are not North. They can come in hand whenever you are trying to locate an spirit.
Domains

Domains are places spirits are linked to. Because they have come to like the place, or because it is related with their past etc. Within a domain, a spirit requires less energy to manifest. That means that inside a domain, they are spending less power in manifesting and more in doing whatever they please. So at a domain, certain spirits can basically become gods, and if it is a domain of an evil spirit, the area becomes a death trap.
Therefore, domains should be avoided at all costs. So how can one identify a domain. Well, there is no perfect rule to identify a domain, but as a rule of thumb, which works 99.9% of the time, haunted areas are always a domain. If people have been experiencing many paranormal encounters in one specific place, it is very likely a domain from an spirit.
If you find yourself within a domain, you should first evaluate what will the make the spirit calm down and leave you alone. Some spirits like to be shown respect, others will not leave you as long as they find you entretaining and so on, at the end is a matter of understanding and reading the domain host. While trying to discover the best way to have the spirit go away, one must establish a boundary between the spirit, chalk or salt circles are the best ways to set a boundary. If the spirit becomes increasingly violent, one can use another type of defense which is known as counter domains.
Even though they are similar to Shintais, as in the way they host an spirit and that it can be an area or an object, the term shintai should not be used to refer to domains as it is reserved for Kami spirits.
Defense against spirits

Items
Blessed items are in fact, blessed by spirits, depending on which item is blessed, this will require from cero essence to a fraction of the kami's essence to be dropped into the item.
Lesser defense items: Onamoris (御守) can keep lesser spiritual presences away, they are regarded as a portable form of an Ofuda. These small talismans consists of a small bag of paper containing a blessed object, it usually has inscripted a blessing. Other spirits which might be more powerful will be highly incomodated by their presence, therefore, using them is always a good way to reduce your chances of having bad interactions.
Medium defense items: Ofudas (御札) are specialized and powerful items that can be used to keep away spirits. Ofudas are generally made of wood, wool or paper and have inscripted a blessing, the name of an shrine or a Kami. They are intended to serve as a house talisman, that protects the inhabitants from bad luck and disgraces, it can be hanged next to doors, gates or walls. However Ofudas can also be carried around and used portably. Depending on the text contained in the Ofuda, it can be more effective warding off certain types of spirits. They are an inconvenient to many wicked entities, yet have their limits and can be surpassed by a superior presence.
Supreme defense items: They are blessed items which partially house the essence of a Kami. They are only entrusted to those who are known will do good with them. See "Body of the Kami" section for more information.
Counter Domains
Bear in mind this type of defense has only so far been theorised to work and that it has never been used before, with this, here is the explanation to what is a counter domain. A counter domain is the combination of some of the previous items in order to create a hole within an spirits domain. It is based off of the principle that an ofuda's purpose is to defend a house or an area from evil spirits. Therefore, by adding an ofuda to items used to stablish a barrier, the ofuda understands that the area is the user's home. This basically would make hole the spirit's domain.
Making a hole on the spirits domain might enrage the them, this is why it should only be used when it is a matter of live or death. Once a counter domain is set, expect the spirit to try to take it down inmediatly and become aggressive. However if the protection is sufficient, it can grant a crucial amount of time to escape the domain.
Body of the Kami | Shintai | 神体

A Shintai (神体) is an object inhabited by the essence of a Kami. They have been known to be a huge amount of things, weapons, waterfalls, structures. Before those objects become a shintai they are regarded as yorishiros (依代). In the process of splitting it's essence into the yorishiro, said process is known as Bunrei (分霊) the Kami will be linked into the object, giving up part of it's movment freedom in exchange for an area to feel attached to and unknown perks. During certain rituals and moments of extreme need, a Kami can decide to use as yorishiro a priest or maiden, this makes the individual become a type of Shintai known as Kannushi (神主)
The reason why shrines exist is because they are built around Shintais, and once those shintais are built around them, from that point, the Shintai becomes a Go-Shintai (御神体) and is taken care of, protected and cherised upon by the priest's and maidens of the shrine built around it. The structure holding or most closer to the Go-Shintai is regarded as a honden (本殿) an structure which is closed off to the public due to it's significant sacredness.
However Shrines can too be built in other places that are dedicated to the same kami, this is done through a Kanjo (勧請), in which the part of the essence of kami originally inhabiting the Go-Shintai is moved into a artificial yorishiro, which has usually been created to be easy to transport and is worthy of being inhabited by a kami, the result is that one is left with a Go-Shintai and a Shintai which can be moved into a different place in which a shrine can be built around. This is how networks of shrines dedicated to the same kami can exist.

Incidents: We only know of few incidents. The most information about him was found in this lost footage found near a path in Tsubasa. The footage is highly disturbing. It starts with a few kids going through the woods. Then suddenly, some of the streetlights black out and an ominous and horrible laugh is heard. Then 10HBM ended one by one each explorer.
