APPLICATION INFORMATION
What position are you applying for?:
The position of lawyer.
What is your motivation for applying?:
I’ve been thinking about applying to the government faction for quite a while. In recent points, I’ve been getting to know more about the faction, to which I’m only more fascinated by the minute. Getting to know the government’s policies, how they work on the inside and outside, reading up on the constitution and the rights, all were a favoured point over other factions to apply to. Last month, I was able to participate in the government internship, which was an entirely enjoyable experience. I learned a lot more than I’d ever thought possible, and it further fanned the flame for my wanting to apply!
Do you have an understanding of Karakura’s laws & Constitutional rights?:
I do! I’ve visited the article quite a lot, both in study during the internship and on behalf of my own character’s logical development. I’ve worked on building up the memory of both the laws and the constitutional rights.
What are your goals for being in Government Faction?:
I have several goals and motivations. As I’ve mentioned before, a main idea for my contribution to the faction has been due to my fascination. I wish to experience an entirely new community, a new field of roleplaying, development, and the topics of learning. With all I’ve witnessed - being an intern, attending several trials of all sorts and so forth, it feels as though I’ve found a new love I wish to experience firsthand.
In your own words, describe the different roles of the Government Faction:
All of my information was retained through the internship and reading!
The Governor Department
A governor’s role highly contrasts that of a lawyer. Within the branch of the governors, they become overseers of sorts toward the citizens of Karakura. Their job consists of providing identification and approving of, as well as officializing, marriages and adoptions. They’re also seen more in the public’s eye, surveying and listening for complaints, other issues toward the town, or different factions. On some occasions, a governor will be seen especially around the shopping district in order to do inspections. Trial wise, two governors will be seen sitting just before the judge’s bench. One is a transcriber, writing up a form for later evaluation, and the other acts as a clerk, an overseer for what proceeds in the trial.
The Judge Department
Similarly to the governors, the judge’s role contrasts the lawyers. A judge is the head of a trial, seated at the bench. A panel of judges create the jury, who find the verdict upon the end of the trial. They take the reigns of the courtroom, deciding what goes within and what stays on the outside. They dictate objections and call for what happens next - such as calling for the opening statements to proceed. Outside of trials, they work on cases, deciding what might or might not go through the system, they issue the warrants - a process leading to an arrest, as well as working on several of the same departments as governor. These include adoptions and marriages. Restraining orders also fall into their category, typically on account of a warrant.
The Lawyer Department
The lawyers are a 180 compared to the aforementioned roles. They have an entirely different agenda, though the common denominator is trial work. During a trial, a lawyer will either be provided as the defense attorney, or a plaintiff’s attorney. An attorney’s work is either to aide in proving their client is innocent, or to dictate what the other lawyer and client are saying and turn the table. They take several calls, typically eluding to becoming an attorney. A lawyer is oftentimes in a meeting, speaking to their client and configuring on how they can help them. Client lists from that point are built, creating the horizon for their role during either a civil or criminal case. Similarly to a judge, lawyers can take on restraining orders, but they’d not be seen doing much else of the others’ jobs, having a barrier of sorts - a lawyer won’t be seen officiating a marriage or adoption, for example.
Do you acknowledge that upon being accepted you can be subject to removal at any given time?:
I do acknowledge this fact.
Have you read & agreed to follow the Government Faction rules?:
I have read them, and I will follow them!

What makes you a good candidate for this job?:
“I have dedicated my life to the practice of law. From a young age, it had engraved itself into my deepest roots. My father had been a lawyer from even before I was born, retiring after twenty-six years. Proudly, I’d followed his life’s work and made it my own, graduating earlier from law school than my colleagues. I wish to bring my contributions to Karakura. I stand on a firm belief that my strengths as a lawyer will be a good addition to the balance that is the government. Phenomenal things have been heard of on the accounts of several people I’ve been acquainted with. I can only imagine my attendance will continue to showcase to the world what type of citadel Karakura has been and will continue to be."
A pause followed the conclusion of Morello's first stretch of dialogue, a quiet clearing of his throat signalling he wasn't quite done.
"Adding upon these points, I have interacted with, in the past, several citizens of Karakura, some of which included those within the government faction. Their expertise will coincide well with my own, settled to further give off to the greatness that is our island. Many great things have come forth due to this government, as well as the other officials in the first responders' fields. To be a part of that would be of one of my greatest honors, especially in such a position as a lawyer.”
Another pause.
“On the front of my experiences, nothing has stood out more to me than what I have heard from and witnessed firsthand in this town. No town is perfect, nor is any governmental body, but no one has quite gone so beyond their borders as the town of Karakura has. Alone, the town has heavily excelled beyond most of the world in technology, in education, and in their government. All of this can and will be further excelled in upon my hiring as a lawyer. I continue. as I said prior, to stand firm on my belief; more so a promise, if you will.”
