What is your Minecraft username?:

fredtastic (main account)
fredtasty (account I'm applying with)
fredcentric

Do you have Discord (If so, what is your discord username?):

I do; my username is fredtastic

How old are you? (Optional):

I am 20 years old

What is your time zone?:

My timezone is EST

Describe your activity on the server:

I would give my activity a 7-8/10

As a college student in a very time-consuming domain, my activity can vary depending on my classes, exams, and semesters. This means I sometimes have to log inactivity logs when I know exam seasons are coming. Although I can often be seen AFK, working on schoolwork, I try to be online at least 1 to 2 hours a day. Also, I can easily plan my study sessions / move my schedule around. Therefore, if an event or meeting is coming up, I can most probably be there!

In your usual week, I could be on during the weekday evenings and a few hours/day on the weekend.

When I am online, I mostly roleplay on my college football account, which is the most natural for me. I can also be seen working on events / RPing on an event character or my adult character, helping out gangs with crime! I would say my activity is very diverse!

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive, you will be demoted?:

I do, and I accept any decision regarding my activity made by the faction lead.

"Yudokuna Ken’yaku is a chaotic, lovable mess of a convenience store that thrives on last-minute needs, customer satisfaction, and a whole lot of personality."
-Rukito Khang, 2025

Shop Information

What shop are you applying for?:

I am applying for Yudokuna Ken'yaku, a retail and convenience shop.

Why do you want to become a Shopkeeper?:

The shopkeeper role caused a spark in me since the day I joined the server. It’s a lovable mix of creativity, economics and roleplay opportunity.

I have had this idea of a messy shop in mind for a while seeing it’s something that isn’t done often within the server. Being known for having (almost humoristically) flawed characters, I figured I could bring my vision to the shop roster. After working in a few shops myself, I’ve seen that most shop interactions result in a copy-pasted action and a quick money transfer, though I think this faction has much more to offer if we dare step into the unknown. This concept of a flawed shop is, I believe, a great way to explore the creative roleplay side of the faction. I would love to see “Karens” yell at me, the city try to dismantle my disturbing shop after multiple complaints. Yes, the shopkeeper faction may seem to be staling or unmotivating, but I believe it has great potential!

On a more economic side, I cannot lie by saying the monetary aspect isn’t an interesting side benefit, though I do believe it’s not my main reason for joning this faction. Over the last few years, I have been able to grow a respectable amount, which now allows me to have many opportunities. With my capital, I’d love to talk to the community, and to buy custom items from players. As I am somewhat nerdy myself, the whole advertising and marketing side of the faction also caught my interest.

Community and roleplay-wise, being a shopkeeper would allow me to explore a brand-new type of roleplay with my employees. I’d love to bring them into the many troubles and absurdities my shop might face. Feared, loved, or venerated, my character would have the chance to build genuine bonds with his workers. Sometimes, it can be hard for regular players to find meaningful or entertaining roleplay opportunities, and it would be my goal to include them in a fun, occasionally weird, but mostly compelling storyline.

Finally, on a practical note, the ‘behind the scenes’ aspect of the shopkeeper role interests me. I love leading a team, and being able to have free reign over my shop. Being already invested in the event team, this would be an opportunity for me to oversee another type of event: more related ones.

Being a shopkeeper implies leading a team. What experiences do you have working in a team?

I have many experiences working in a team, both on SRP and IRL.

SRP

Factions

Being in a faction of course means working with other players.

Black Market Faction: I was a Black Market Dealer for a year and a half. During this time, I had to work with other dealers, crime associates, and gang members. Our job was to do the faction work, yes but also to overlook the crime faction. As a team, we planned events, discussed crime updates, and modelled the future of the faction. As a team leader, I had to run a crime business (Crime Clinic & Racing), plan smaller-scale events, and recruit and lead a few associates to help me with my work.

EMS: Although I have been in EMS a little while ago, it gave me a good impression of teamwork and team leading, especially on SRP. As a worker, I had to roleplay my tasks but also to work within the eternity of EMS/psychiatrists. We discussed the future of EMS, planned faction events, and split the work. As Psychiatry Clinical Lead, I had to lead the psychiatry department. This included application, training, and checking quotas / overlooking players. Although I wasn’t the best lead there was, I reckon I learnt a lot from it.

Sports: Currently being on the football team, the teamwork is much less “Administrative”. We have to plan events for our team, play football together, and ensure everyone has fun! It’s a much easier teamwork, though it showed me I can rely on my teammates.

Event team

Everything event team-related, of course, implies lots of teamwork. It’s an obligation for the event team to be able to rely on each other during the brainstorming phase, planning, and execution of events. For every event, we get assigned to a team of members who will all split the work. Being on this team truly helped me grow while having lots of great moments. On the team leading side, I was able to coordinate a few events. Being in charge, I had to make sure everyone knew their job, contact the needed builders/faction leads, and be ready for a due date. It was a coordinating job, more than a “working” one.

IRL experiences

In the last few years, I have had the chance to experience teamwork in many school-related and work-related teams. This includes clubs, student-council, work teams and teamwork related to my college career. All of those experiences helped me grow and learn the benefits of teamwork.

What do you plan to do with your shop, and what makes it unique?:

Tourists, locals, lost teenagers looking for their motive, exhausted parents, people on a budget, rich influencers trying to make their influencers believe they’re regular people, pawnshop resellers Yudokuna Ken'yaku is MADE for you. Imagine this! It’s 11:36 in the evening, and your razor snaps in half! What will you do now? You have a job interview at 8 a.m. tomorrow, and that nasty beard can’t shave itself. Yudokuna Ken'yaku is here for you, truly. Think of it as your disorganized best friend who somehow has everything you need, including that razor!

Logic and reason are not the main themes of this place. Unlike the other prestigious shops and businesses in Karakura, Yudokuna Ken'yaku doesn’t care about its image or consumer satisfaction. I mean, they’ll say they will, but the old man at the register won’t really mind if you think his stock is “cheap” or “not aesthetic.” Give him a break! One thing is sure, though: you will always be greeted with a smile at Yudokuna Ken'yaku. The beauty of the store doesn’t reside in fancy aisles or designer items but in the people behind it.

Realistically, Yudokuna Ken'yaku provides the atmosphere of a Japanese, 24-hour, family-owned shop.

Its unique aspect is also explained by a special application and hiring process. Handpicked, the employees were not employed because of their writing skills in an application form, or their flashy looks. They were picked because of their authenticity. Mr Khang understands these kids’ situation. Being a student can be challenging finance-wise, and he will be glad if he can help a few students make ends meet at the end of a month. In fact, the hiring process goes through interviews, but ditch the formal setting and the classic interview questions! A simple talk with Mr Khang or his team will determine if you’re fit for the job. At Yudokuna Ken'yaku, we want the poor guy who just lost his job to feel heard by the cashier. He might buy more if he does!

What will your shop look like?
Outdoors
For the exterior, the shop will have a very typical urban Japanese look. Not very pretty, with no high budget put into decorating it, clustered storefront, etc. Neons can be used here and there to hopefully attract wandering customers.

Indoors
Following the same idea as the exterior, the interior could be described as chaotic and cramped. Shelves everywhere, a confusing layout, bright neon lights, as much display as the space allows us! The inside could almost trigger some claustrophobia! Hopefully, you don’t wanna carry a cart inside, it won’t fit!

What will you sell in your shop?:

The goal of Yudokuna Ken'yaku is to sell items and essentials one might desperately need, or not. Items range from snacks, to self-care essentials to even everyday items. As the customers walk through the aisles, they will most definitely frown and question, “Why do they even have that?”

WELL, lady, we are selling scalp massagers because we can and our supplier had extras to sell for a cheap price..

Here are a few items Yudokuna Ken'yaku will sell:
(item examples I may get as customs in the future)

Pacifier: Shhhh
We love your children, but we love them even more when they don't burst our eardrums.
Buy peace and tranquility with our pacifier!

Back scratcher
Sometimes, you have to hit the spot, and this arm extension is just the right tool for it!

Furniture: Laundry basket
Yes, we call it a laundry basket, but it’s convenient to store any kind of home-good: Blankets, clothes, your neighbors’ loud dog …!

Instant ramen: beef flavored
The cheap kind, probably comes with a few bugs, but it's the best late-night study snack.

Kids’ toy: Owl plushie
Buy yourself some peace of mind. And … we won’t judge you if you buy it for yourself, you crashout

Other public items that could be sold:

Bandaid
Hotdog
Icecream sandwich
Sundae Blue
Lolly Strawberry
Vanilla Icecream
Bento Box
Vegemite
Strawberry Jam
Sweet and Salty Popcorn
Takeout Noodles
Chocolate Icecream
Chocolate Pocky
Packaged Ramen
Caramel Cookie "Scooby Snack"
Empty Cup (Mug)
Coffee Beans
Coffee Machine
Home furniture
AND MORE!

How many employees do you plan to have?:

Every opening will be hosted by the shopkeeper/ a manager and 2-3 cashiers will work. Special openings may include the mascot!

Shopkeeper [1/1]

The shopkeeper’s job is to oversee the team. They are in charge of making sure the business runs well, which includes hiring, announcements, and, most importantly, stocks. It is the shopkeeper’s responsibility to purchase new items to keep the flow of customers, to order restocks, and to keep track of the shop's openings. The shopkeeper may also manage openings if managers are not available. Any ongoing issues will mostly be handled by the shopkeeper.

Managers [0/4]

A manager has similar responsibilities as a regular cashier, but they also can open the shop without the shopkeeper being present. In the case of a manager-held opening, they are deemed in charge for the moment. They are to keep track of inventory, make sure that the employees treat the customers with expected manners, and manage paychecks. Managers may also work alongside the shopkeeper to keep track of certain sides of the shop (paychecks, hiring, etc). They are also to help the shopkeeper make decisions if needed.

Cashiers [0/12]

The core of the business! Without cashiers, the shop cannot run with efficiency. They are to be respectful to the customer and be there for them if needed. At Yudokuna Ken'yaku, we wish for the customer to see the worker as not only a service-giver but as a friend, a the****** … as family. Which is why the hiring process is the key aspect of the business.

During openings, cashiers will handle the registers, ensure the customer finds what they need and make sure they pay the right amount.

Mascot [0/1]

The mascot role is a specific position held by a handpicked employee. Their very complex and crucial job is to spin a sign, yell loudly, and wear a very humiliating costume, which comes with extraordinary heating! Such a rewarding job! The mascot will be needed at bigger openings or events.

What event will be hosted by your shop?

Shop inspection fraud…!

At Yudokuna Ken'yaku, we understand shop inspections happen FOR the customers, which is why we take them very seriously... or so it seems. Let’s all be honest here, there is no way Yudokuna Ken'yaku respects all health and hygiene codes and regulations. As sanitation may be limited here, intelligence and cunning aren’t! As the day of inspections approaches, the great foolery may commence. Actors are hired for a quick gig faking being very satisfied customers. The store is entirely cleaned! What looks uncleaned is locked in a broom closet. Hopefully, it won’t be opened by the inspectors…

Said short-term event promotes creative roleplay for the shop’s staff, the inspectors and the other involved players. It’s also a risky yet engaging event that brings personality to the shop and its owner.

Unique discounts!!

This isn’t much of an event, but a functionality. Mr. Khang is a man of great ego, and he loves making people happy! This includes discounts! At some specific openings, discounts will be given to certain factions, sports team players, people with blonde hair, etc. Mr. Khang is a very skeptical man and has to have proof that you do fit the discount description. So, you’re a Bobcat team member? Show me your medal, and I’ll know. You say you work at the hospital? Bring me a letter from Rokku Heddo, then you’ll have your 10% discount. Being somewhat of a con man himself, proof MUST be given. You’re upset about those discounts? Go cry about it to the town hall; we both know your complaint will get lost in their tons of paperwork.

Those shady and very subjective discounts are also a way to promote the roleplay in the shop. I want my employees not to simply copy / paste the same message, but to truly roleplay out their tasks.

Pawn’em, Thrift 'em’!

This is a 2-phase event.
  1. Pawn-shop: During a special opening, Yudokuna Ken'yaku won’t sell items, BUY some of the players' items. Of course, our professional pawners will negotiate with the players to get a good price! We won’t overpay, but we will gladly buy anything - or pretty much anything... LOWBALLING!
  2. Thrift sale! : In another opening, the pawned items will be sold for a bit of profit, but still for a cheap price. This event could be held alongside the yearly pawn market event held by the event team.
This is a win-win! You sell your unsellable items, make some bucks and let US make MORE bucks! Win-win!

Uniforms

This uniform is to be worn over a classic, and respectful personnal outfit.

Character Information

Name

Rikuto Khang

Age

46 years old

Degree of education

No formal degree, but owner of many trade certifications

Character description.
Rikuto Khang is a very dull-looking man. His mid-length hair fits his laid-back vibe. He looks no special, and his usual bored expression says no more than what he is, bored. Yes, he might not be the most fanatic of his life, or his job, but he does it for his family. Standing at 5'9, he doesn’t stand out in a crowd. He is the crowd. He is the mass.... His eyes, on another note, showed hints of heterochromia, green and blue.

The Khangs being the Khangs, he is no exception when it comes to mannerism, values, and tradition. He was raised in that context, anyway. Although his looks suggest otherwise, he is no cold or inhuman man. Rikuto Khang is a man of great and warm heart, ready to give it all up for his children, whom he loves dearly. Not necessarily a fan of the exceptionally high expectations held on the Khang children, he could even be seen as the “cool uncle”, ready to defend them in front of the more strict Khang parents.

But why shopkeeper?

The Khang was sitting at his counter, confused as to why he was being questionned by this customer.

"Because I could? I was never a man of great ambitions, academic ambitions. I made the science labs blow up, and my literature professors were almost disgusted by my writing, both calligraphy-wise and creativity-wise." He smiled ; it was a warm, light-hearted grin. He was either genuine or a great actor. "So I ended up buying this old junk. It ain't much, but it's stable, and I can support my family this way. I couldn't ask for more." A paper perfect answer - almost too perfect. A man deciding to run a crappy, almost demolished store isn't much of a choice usually. Was the Khang lying? Find out ICly ...

Didn't you get the chance to renovate the place, make it more attracting for customers?

The man shook his head. A saddened look on his face. Maybe his almost puppy-like eyes would influence you to buy more...
"Money doesn't exactly come flowing where I am from. Closing the store for a few months would probably have us kicked out of our apartment, and ... I really don't want to give my siblings the pleasure of seeing me ask for money. They'd feed on the joy of seeing me fail. Yudokuna Ken'yaku has been keeping me afloat the way it is, and I have no plans in changing it short term." His eyes lit up slightly. "I would love though, to see this shop become big, and great and loved by the people. After all, it's why I'm doing all of this, for the people."

Extra

Additional notes about your application:

I have, in the past worked in many shops: Sayonara, Daisuki Yohin, Larenco, 11/7... Those experiences gave me a great idea how of a shop may function. I was even a manager at Sayonara for a while. If I do become a shopkeeper, I intend to take example from those past shopkeepers, but to also give it my own personal touch.

Thanks for reading. This shop application made me laugh..
Some changes might be done before the reviewing date
