What's your Minecraft Username?: WhiteSnowy1737
What's the title of your suggestion?: Better Ocean

What's your suggestion?:
Look, yesterday when I made my request for a child whitelist, someone commented that it would be useless, and I mentioned that we also have the possibility of playing as a fish on the server. For me, I think it's useless, because The ocean is very empty, with nothing to do, just water and seaweed, which honestly, is kind of empty. It even reminds me of the old Minecraft oceans, where there was nothing, and then Mojang updated it, adding a lot of interesting stuff. And here's where my suggestion comes in.
Make the ocean much more alive, full of interesting things to see or interact with. Like coral reefs, some sea urchins. references to deep-sea cartoons like SpongeBob SquarePants (Like someone created some clay sculptures of Pineapple, that Squidward moai house, and Patrick's Rock) and throw on ocean.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
It would make the ocean much more interesting, which might make many more people explore it.

OKAY – So I'll just do this in two sentences... So! To build a "better ocean", it would take a SOLID BIT to do, as there are many factors that can make an ocean look better, such as coral, boats, and any signs of life. Overall, this would take a LONG TIME to do and will divert building efforts from more important projects that are more influential to the player base. Sure, it'd be really cool, but I don't see it happening. BUT I do think it REALLY depends on if we would intend to do the whole ocean or just the bay! As it does depend on the skill of the build team and if they are proficient in sea life! Though I'd love to see this.

-1 I do think there are many other ways to make the ocean more appealing which I can agree with, I think seashells or starfish would be cool to add to the shoreline of the beach. Though there are certainly more important projects that do need to be focused on.

This would be extremely easy to do. I see no reason why the Build Team can not spearhead a project into slowly but surely making Karakura Bay look less desolate. Maybe they already are. I don't know.

I think it'd be cool, but it isn't necessary. Perhaps a side project that is done but doesn't take priority.
Somebody mentioned earlier it would be "extremely easy to do". It absolutely would not. Because of that, I think it should be something they aim to do for next summer.

Wow a suggestion that benefits late stage fish gameplay? Yes please! Something like underwater caves would be fantastic to see, not interfere with existing sewers layouts, and allow for cave diving to be something RP'd out which I think would be sick as hell. That aside, even a small coral reef like the June? 2025 beach event had for the treasure scavenger hunt would be fantastic, not that we have any reef fish on the whitelist but... it'd be cool. Really cool!

Honestly as a fish you can RP in shrine, forest, you can play around everywhere. The ocean has little interesting nooks and trinkets you just gotta look!

They haven't implemented /warp rivers yet, so doing anything in the forest doesn't actually work out that way. Additionally, I don't know if you've ever been a fish in the shrine ponds, but its an incredibly small space that still uses the standard player model as it has to which results in a very difficult to maneuver space. I love the shrine but this argument is not one that anyone who has a fish whitelist would make.

Moreover, there is not a lot in the ocean on the seafloor, aside from broken kelp stalks. The most interesting area is a specific area near the border that had an old furniture item which just wound up getting un-textured resulting in a shovel appearing to be in an invisible item frame underwater, or the couch. (This has since been removed, as the ocean floor was recently updated to remove the flat stretch of seafloor that was used for grinding swim speed, apparently.)

I implore you, any of you downvoting this, to look at this gallery. Tell me the ocean is interesting. I went and did all of this just now to prove the point. Please actually click the link and go through the 20+ pictures as the embed preview only lets you see a small handful.

As for the shrine, while yes it is the location with the most possible RP opportunities available to it, is not a justified reason to reject this suggestion as this is what is available to fish at shrine.

Its great, I love that we even have a space at shrine where we are allowed to RP, but it is nowhere near enough reason to justify reject a change to the oceans.

i just got a fish whitelist and i feel like there isn’t much to do on said whitelist. an ocean update would be really cool :)

A ocean change suggestion has been accepted many times in the past, This is something that is most likely going to happen, Just not a top priority right now.

Neutral, while it would be nice to have it's also a really big project that would take a lot of time to complete.
