Would you let your kids play on SRP?

Sorry to my future children, but nahhhhhhhh uhhh sorry kiddo'z </3
But if they were to ever, I'll probably prefer to have them be at least 16 in age or around that age and just remind them to be safe checking up here and there ^_^

It depends on the emotional maturity of the child. I started a few years ago, and I was not ready emotionally. Now, I'd say I'm pretty mature.
I've noticed that it is usually the younger players that take ic things oocly. Each child is different, so it depends, but I'd say 13-14 is an okay age to start! And plus, I'd much rather my child be on something that would actually use their brain, unlike most games and content these days. Also, I would love roleplaying with my child, and if they try to bully my character, I'd embarrass them oocly <3

Nope. Server is often way too inappropriate for the children that are on it AND this issue is perpetuated by the children on the server, creating a negative feedback loop. Not to mention the inherently competitive and survivor-like nature of the social circles that are imbued into the core of this server's community breeds toxic competition that is unhealthy and grossly destabilising to developing minds and reinforces notions of people pleasing and ass-kissing to progress within half of the systems present within it, which while a valuable life skill in most modern societies, is not something that should be encouraged in recreational activities.

The amount of disgusting and often abhorrent drama, unsafe actions (IC and OOC), and behaviours of players, or just the general content of some of the RP I see is absolutely unsuited for children. The frequency with which I need to file reports to staff is jarring, especially considering the relative size of the community and how well I stick to my own social circles, further alienating me from worse examples. The fact that any kids would be, could be, or are being subjected to or experiencing any of this or could be around these types of people is alarming.

I also believe that for a community geared towards children and minors, they are largely overlooked or excluded by many users on account of their age, despite this being primarily a space developed for them, more often than not being treated as a problem which needs to be avoided or removed, rather than incorporated and included in a space curated and targeted towards them, which feeds back into the concepts I mentioned in the first paragraph. I believe that this imposed isolation is destructive for their developing minds, particularly with relation to social understanding and experience.

I love the roleplay though, that's great. I love my friends too. The server is lovely for what it is and as an adult, I enjoy the time I spend with my friends, but the way I see certain users, often under the age of 18, agonising over things that happen on this server, having extreme and severe real life consequences is disturbing.

Dumbed down, its a massive popularity contest where everyone is losing. I would not subject my child to that.
