Describe your activity on the server:
I joined SRP in September 2024 and have been active for about a year and a half with a break over the summer. As a university student, I have more different kinds of responsibilities than I did in high school but, now that my first semester is complete, I have a lot more free time on my hands. I currently am online often mainly as my track character Mihana Aoki along with Ichika Ai and, occasionally, Chiara Matsuno (the character with which I am applying.)
In this time, I’ve been a member of two different sports teams (HS-Track, Col-Fem-Volleyball, and HS-Track again now.) I’ve also been a Teacher but my longest-term faction on the server was EMS from December 2024 to July 2025. If it is not evident, I adored my experience in the Emergency Faction. I loved interacting with new people, being part of special events and scenarios, and performing a role that helps keep SRP’s realism intact. Furthermore, I have a passion for DetailRP both on and off SRP that has lasted approximately 10 years of my life now. I enjoy partaking in diverse, fun, and high-stakes RP scenarios. I feel that is a well-suited and applicable skillset for KPD.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
My knowledge of police work on SRP is fairly extensive for an outsider to the faction. The main goal of the Karakura Police Department is to protect their community, in this case, the city of Karakura. They do so mainly through reports.
Officers and detectives alike can acquire reports through a variety of means. Firstly, 110 is the emergency hotline number. It is accessible to all civilians who have phones and functional cell service. Once called, all emergency faction workers receive a notification and are able to respond depending on the situation and the department under which it falls. Some examples of cases where KPD would respond are active kidnappings, fights, and incessant loitering. According to the EM level. you need a certain number of officers with you before you can report to the location that the caller provides. Secondly, reports can come in through the front desk. This would be a civilian going to KPD as to report a crime, prompting further investigation. Thirdly, crimes can be discovered naturally through patrol. For patrol, officers take a route around the city together, clearing different locations that are known to be high crime. Naturally, if a crime is discovered, the patrol halts until the situation is dealt with. Although fighting crime is arguably KPD's main responsibility, they do so much more including interacting with the community, appearing in court, overseeing visitations, and raiding properties.
Furthermore, I'm aware of the different positions within the faction. They are as follows:
MAIN DIVISION | DETECTIVE DIVISION |
| Cadet — Everyone needs to start somewhere! Cadets are officers-in-training, essentially. They must participate in a 2-week training course and pass their exams in order to maintain their position in the faction. | You cannot apply directly to the detective division. |
| Patrol officer — You've passed your exams! Hooray! Now you are entrusted with more responsibilities which can be handled alongside other officers. Furthermore, you are allowed to go off-duty. | Detective Constable — Trainees but for the detective division. Their main focus is on studying for and passing their exam to become fully-fledged detectives. |
| Corporal — A step-up from a patrol officer, corporals are considered well-versed in the faction and can be trusted with a majority of situations. | Detective Sergeant — The detective division's equivalent of a patrol officer. These detectives have passed their exams and are fully ready to proceed with all division duties. |
| Sergeant — Nearly higher-ups, sergeants are the most experienced of the regular faction employees. They can be trusted to train cadets. | Detective Inspector — The equivalent of a sergeant for the detective division. They can train newer members and are nearly at higher-up levels of expertise. |
| Lieutenant (HIGHER-UP) — The bridge between the other higher-ups and the lower-ranking officers, they work to support the captain. | Detective Chief Inspector (HIGHER-UP) — The detective division's lieutenant-equivalent, they work to support the detective superintendent. |
| Captain (HIGHER-UP) — The leader of the main division. | Detective Superindendent (HIGHER-UP) — The highest-rank among detectives. |
Finally, the commissioner oversees both divisions as the faction lead. They also deal with emergency faction issues along with the hospital director.
Furthermore, KPD has certain equipment that they are able to use depending on the situation. Depending on the task, different tools ought to be used. However, as an officer, all of the items below are important to keep on your person should you be on-duty.
NAME | DESCRIPTION |
Police Baton View attachment 76539 | A short-range, 2-hit weapon that can be used to apprehend criminals. This baton is made of steel and, hence, capable of knocking someone out. It is accessible to all officers but can be stolen. |
Handcuffs View attachment 76540 | Used for apprehending criminals. These handcuffs can be used in the immediate range specifically when making arrests. They can't be stolen but a roll is needed if the criminal chooses to resist. |
Police Radio View attachment 76541 | A small device used to communicate with other officers and EMS workers. It can be destroyed with a blunt or sharp weapon but can't be stolen or used offensively. (No hitting people over the head with your radio... Tsk tsk.) |
Stun Blaster View attachment 76542 | Much like a tranquilizer except it only prevents the target from moving for 60 seconds with a successful hit in an 8-block range. All officers have one. They cannot be mugged. These are some of the most-used tools as officers equip them whilst on patrol. |
Breathalyzer View attachment 76543 | Concerned about public intoxication? This is your guy. A breathalyzer can be used to test exactly how drunk someone is (although the accuracy may vary depending on proximity to the KPD station.) It can't be stolen and can't be used offensively. |
Pepper Spray View attachment 76544 | This little can contains multitudes (three hits of pepper spray) and can be used to render a target blind for the period of one minute (unless said target is wearing a gas mask.) It has a two-block radius and can't be stolen. |
Tranquilizer View attachment 76545 | The more dangerous (and more effective) older sibling of the stun gun. Tranquilizers are used by Police Sergeants and Detective Inspectors in order to knock a target unconscious for a total of 2 minutes. It requires an action and a successful roll to be taken out in-range. A reload is 2 darts and also requires a roll in-range. However, it can't be stolen and can be used long range (30 blocks.) |
Riot Shield View attachment 76546 | There have been a lot of offensive tools so far, however, sometimes you need defense. That's where the riot shield comes in. They are accessible to all officers and the function depends on the hand it is placed in. Offensively (off-hand) it can only be used to push targets. However, defensively, it neutralizes all damage from the front or sides. If an officer is protected from behind, the riot shield can be used to pull them away from whatever is protecting them. Like most of these tools, it requires an action to be taken out and swapped between hands. It can be stolen with proper permissions or if an officer is unconscious. |
Gas Mask | Your average, garden-variety gas mask. All on-duty officers have access to one specifically for raids and other activities that might require a concealed identity. It can be stolen with a roll and proper mug permissions. |
Crowbar | Similarly to above, this crowbar is police-issued and can be used to open locked doors and sealed containers. This would come in handy when searching a property. However, it can also be stolen with a roll and proper mug permissions. |
Luminol Spray | Another tool that's accessible to all on-duty officers. Luminol spray is used to any blood on a weapon, hence figuring out whether it's been used recently (and not cleaned.) |
Disposable Latex Gloves | All on-duty officers are assumed to have these on. They prevent fingerprints from showing on objects they touch (such as important evidence.) They cannot be stolen. |
Fingerprint Scanner | The fingerprint scanner is used to scan suspects' fingerprints to check if they match a sample. This provides useful evidence in making an arrest. |
First Aid Kit | All on-duty officers carry a small first aid kit. Although it is not capable of much, it can add 5 minutes to the bleed out timer. It's especially useful when EMTs are not available to respond to a situation resulting in police transporting the victim to the hospital. |
Body Camera | Another ItemRPed item, the bodycam is a small, waterproof camera attached to the front of an officer's uniform. It collects footage that can be accessed through a cloud database. The camera cannot be stolen, however, it can be destroyed by two blunt hits or one stab hit. Similarly to CCTV, it can be used to collect evidence. |
As I mentioned above, the main objective of KPD is to enforce the law. Hence, a general understanding of the Karakuran constitution including what constitutes a felony versus a misdemeanor and so on is also useful. Here, I've listed all possible offenses along with definitions and their jail times (if applicable.) Bail is calculated by adding 50,000¥ to .

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
What would Karakura do without the KPD? That’s my question. With thugs running rampant through the streets, Karakura is already not a safe city. Carrying a metal bat is common and it seems to be a generally-held belief in this town that violence is a suitable, and often the default, answer to resolving disputes.
Now, imagine city with no police. With no system of checks and balances, the already-unrealistically-high crime rates would skyrocket. In order to maintain a realistic town setting, it is necessary to have some sort of consequence in place for criminal activity. (Furthermore, in order to make CrimeRP enjoyable, there has to be some sort of thrill and risk in it. What’s the fun in doing illegal stuff if it isn’t illegal?)
That’s where KPD comes in! Having a police department promotes a realistic and exciting roleplay experience for both government workers and gang members alike.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?
Of course! I have a perfect track record with this.
What's your character's full name?:
Chiara Reina Matsuno De Angelis
a.k.a. Chiara Matsuno, 松野妃星
How old is your character (if accepted)?:
27 years old
What are your character's gender and pronouns?:
female & she/they
Please select your highest academic role at the time of writing this application:
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD) & 2 adult roles from faction departures
What languages does your character know besides Japanese?:
Given that she grew up in Karakura, Chiara speaks both English and Japanese fluently. However, because she was mute for a portion of her childhood years, Chiara was not focused on learning further spoken languages as a child. Instead, they studied JSL which allowed them to communicate even before they relearned speech. She is still unable to yell in any language due to vocal complications.
As it was part of her own experience, Chiara is passionate about helping those who have speech disorders and those who are not fluent in English or Japanese. She hopes to learn additional languages in the future so that she can make police services more accessible regardless of communication barriers.
Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
Less of a lady and more of a windstorm. Chiara has a flashy exterior that sets her apart from many other Karakurans. Her hair, a cascade of burgundy red (naturally dark brown) waves, falls to her lower back. She paces the room, ever-moving. Her demeanor is punctured by abrupt bursts of motion. Sharp, golden eyes winged with eyeliner, glitter, and false lashes appear, miraculously, focused despite her wandering thoughts. Their clothes, when out of uniform, are usually made themself in a unique style that combines gyaru, y2k, and grunge elements. A hint of her tattoo peeks out from under the sleeve of her uniform. The ink has settled now although the pink blossoms remain vibrant. It was done nearly a year ago now on an off-day from the hospital: a magnolia branch symbolizing nobility, dignity, and perseverance. Chiara struggled with such traits. Hence, the tattoo was a reminder to herself to think of her dignity before taking action.
Chiara has a plethora of piercings: snake bites, a left-side industrial, and two lobe piercings on each ear. They fidget with these often. All of these were acquired during their college years when they were desperate to change every aspect of the girl they were as a teenager. They did change, despite their stubborn nature, from a quiet girl into a reckless teenager into someone with the confidence to hold the world in their hands. Chiara is altruistic in that way. She might seem flippant, arrogant, rude even yet her fighting spirit comes from a place of care for her loved ones and the world around her.
Still, the woman is riddled with flaws. The scar on her neck, usually painted over with a high coverage foundation, is visible as a testament to the past. She has not nearly lost the impulsivity of her youth. Most recently, Chiara got her top canines sharpened for intimidation factor. (She is not above making decisions because she thinks they look cool.) Her fox-like visuals and sharp jawline lend themselves well to a self-interested, ****y first impression. She speaks her mind to a fault in the pursuit of what she deems just.
How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
Chiara is an active worker and teammate of the ESFP variety. She does best in roles where she can help others interpersonally whether this is taking reports at the front desk or interacting on patrol. She enjoys patrol particularly as she will always be the first and most enthusiastic volunteer when the task involves new people and/or exploration. Chiara does not scare easily in high-stakes situations. She requires some amount of mental stimulation and new input to keep her feeling purposeful and motivated. On the flip side, Chiara is notably easily bored by repetitive admin tasks especially when conducted alone. She thinks best when there is someone else there as a sounding board for her ideas. They often use their coworkers for that purpose, talking comfortably with most anyone regardless of rank. Many would know her as bright, dramatic, outgoing, if not slightly frustrating in the sense that she says exactly as she means with little filter (read: talks too much.) It is not manners that drive her but genuine compassion for her coworkers. Hence, if her opinion on an individual changes, her attitude towards them follows. She is professional, yes, and does not want to obscure justice through her own biases. Yet, she has also been known to keep a long-term grudge. Such behaviors do not change.
Chiara in general does not change whether on or off duty. Her strongest traits, or so she believes, are her authenticity and willpower. Hence, her attitude is fairly consistent: bright, compassionate, loyal, extroverted, blunt, stubborn, curious, reckless, and self-assured. She prides herself in being exclusively and entirely herself. Even when off-duty and around town Chiara is the type to still intervene if she sees criminal activity in her surroundings. Aside from work, she enjoys designing clothes, shopping, traveling, trying new foods, riding her motorcycle, mixology, journaling, and spending time with friends.
What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Chiara naturally gravitates to careers that include at least some aspect of teamwork first as a doctor and now as an officer. Does it benefit her? Maybe. They have been known to enjoy it slightly too much, getting distracted by talking with their co-workers rather than focusing on the task at hand. However, she is, in many aspects, a nerd who enjoys learning everything she can from her higher-ranking co-workers. That is how they would approach police work— Chiara wants to know as much as possible on the subject at hand in order to help in as many situations as possible. She is incredibly protective of those she cares about and, given that she bonds with her co-workers, she would want to know how to protect them no matter the circumstance.
What's your character's backstory?
TW for mentions of stabbing and gang violence.
Born and raised in Karakura, something about the arguably troubled island off the coast of Japan stuck with Chiara.
She was born as the middle child in a large family: two older siblings and two younger. Her parents were restauranteurs by day, owning a small cafe that was well-respected by locals. The family lived in a small apartment above their restaurant. It was nothing fancy but it served the purpose needed. Entertainment was never scarce, nor was good conversation. Chiara's bonds with her siblings were strong, but, aside from them, she had no trouble making friends with other children of her age. Although she wasn't the best student in her primary school, she certainly wasn't the worst either. Most would refer to her as a good kid– never one to make trouble and always willing to help.
The downfall of the Matsuno family began with the cafe's extortion. Increasingly large amounts of threatening mail piled up on their kitchen counter. Chiara's parents ignored it. They were not going to let some gang steal their family business just as it was gaining in notoriety. It wasn't as if they were at risk, right?
Wrong. Due to the Matsuno family's rather conspicuous living situation, it was easy for the extorting gang to track down their apartment and eventually break in. At 10 years old, Chiara was not mentally prepared for a man clad in all black to appear in their apartment in the late evening. She had gone to get a glass of water and, being the social child she was, decided to start up a conversation with the odd-looking stranger. Unfortunately for Chiara, this particular stranger wasn't in the mood for a chat with a kid.
Chiara woke up the next morning in a hospital bed, her head and throat in immense pain. What was this feeling? She made a weak effort to talk but no sound came out. The blow she had been dealt was strong enough to injure her voice box, rendering her mute.
Chiara eventually returned to her schooling although the experience was distinctly different. Given that communication was much harder (the average 4th grader did not know sign language, nor did Chiara at that point really) her social sphere took a distinct drop. Many of her classmates who she had been friends with simply ignored her. It did not help that her parents were now jobless, their only source of income having been taken over by the gang. Her parents resorted to criminal activity in order to keep the rent paid and food on the table.
Regular visits to the doctor and speech the****** made the hospital a central location in Chiara's life. Instead of playing, Chiara spent her free time working on regaining her voice and maintaining her condition. The process fascinated her, hence, she gave it her all, even going as far as to spend extra time with the doctors, questioning them in sign language about their work. If she were to learn enough about the subject, perhaps, sometime in the future, she could become a doctor like them.
Persistent vocal therapy allowed Chiara to reach a stable state with her voice before she began college. She was set to study medicine, a field in which she was now confident. Without much of a social life throughout middle and high school, the amount of time Chiara spent studying allowed her to rise to the top of her class. Now, for the first time ever, she would be leaving her hometown to study at Tokyo University, Japan's leading medical school.
Medical school was a great experience. Chiara had not been mistaken in her passion for being a doctor. She worked harder each day with her goal in mind. A fresh start somewhere away from home served as fresh motivation. No longer did others know of her injury, her family's financial status, their criminal record... nothing. She spoke confidently enough to make up for any odd inflections, her social life improving for the first time since primary school.
All positive experiences must come to a close at some point. As Chiara finished her residency program, the requests from her parents to move back to Karakura increased. Despite 17 years having passed their financial status had only worsened over time. They needed one of their children to take care of them and, as they put it, none of Chiara's siblings were up for the job.
Although she had vowed never to return, Chiara had no choice but to accept the offer. She began looking into trainee positions at Karakura Hospital. Would it be intriguing to see how the place worked from the inside? Certainly. Despite her unfortunate circumstances, at least she was fulfilling her childhood dreams.
Chiara's experience working at Karakura Hospital was mixed. On one hand, she enjoyed the place. She made great friends with many of her coworkers and several of the officers from the KPD as well. For a period of time, she felt like she was genuinely affecting the community positively. However, with the apparent corruption in the workplace and the intense work hours, Chiara became disillusioned with work. She needed a break desperately.
They quit work and left Karakura in the summer of 2025 for a trip around the world. Was it the enlightenment she had hoped for? No. Chiara was not religious in any sense. Seeing Europe and Africa and Asia only left them with a sense of guilt. They were not tied to their parents as an adult yet still, it felt like betrayal to leave their family behind in Karakura while they went on an adventure the others could not afford to take.
Hence, Chiara returned to Karakura only a few months after they had left. Now out of work, she turned to tailoring as a career. It was lovely, yes, but lacked the purpose that medicine had given her. She knew that she did not wish to return to Karakura Hospital. At least not for many, many years.
However, the job opening in KPD intrigued her. Was she capable? Chiara believed so. She had seen her friends do their jobs, envied them too. They had a conception back then that they were doing more for the community than she ever could while stuck in the hospital. She had even considered switching departments. Perhaps she ought to. Hence, Chiara put in her application for KPD with far-fetched hopes of acceptance.
General knowledge
Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?
No! A pocket knife is a dangerous weapon and, therefore, prohibited. Being caught with one would result in confiscation of the knife and felony charge for possessing illegal weaponry. (3 months of jail time or ¥150,000 in bail)
Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription:
Karakura has 9 total medical items that do not require prescriptions. These can be bought without a checkup at the pharmacy in the hospital. Both doctors and psychiatrists can sell the items listed below.
Medication:
Paracetamol — A light pain medication in pill form
Cough syrup — Liquid medicine used to soothe the throat
Multivitamins — Supplements to one’s regular diet, ensuring the body has enough of all required vitamins
Iron supplements — Supplements for iron in particular, useful in cases of anemia
Melatonin — Helps induce sleep in cases of insomnia
Items:
Wooden cane — For balance, either in old age or after an injury
Bandage — Your average cuts, bruises, scabs… A bandaid can treat all of them
Eyepatch — For any kind of issue pertaining to an eye (or lack thereof)
Glasses — They help you see further away (or closer)
If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
"Seriously? Do they not know better as cops? Like, that they literally exist to protect people? Hello?" Chiara grimaced. The woman was incredulous. "I'd be very upset if one of my co-workers actually did this." Certainly this was not something that occurred regularly within the department. She continued on despite the inner turmoil. "Once I realized this was occurring, I would immediately call for backup, ideally a higher-up." They ran a hand through their hair. Was it obvious they hadn't been a cop before? Chiara hoped not. "Depending on the severity of the abuse, I would switch my radio channel to include all emergency members so I can alert EMS of any urgent injuries." She hummed. Her knowledge of first aid and best medical practice was also strong from her time as a doctor but she doubted that she would be allowed to use it as an officer for legal reasons. Legal reasons sucked. What was she saying, again? Oh right. Chiara continued. "I would also double check to make sure my bodycam is collecting footage while I do this. So I have actual evidence to back up my report in caaaase no one responds. Yes." Chiara nodded once with certainty. She had this in the bag.
What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
Chiara nodded along with the question. This, now, was plausible if not likely. Chiara did not trust criminals not to assault KPD officers. She knew of several concrete instances from when she was in EMS where this was reported. It seemed to happen near-weekly. “Firstly," she started. "If there is one attacking party, unarmed, I would not hesitate before inserting myself. I would not hesitate before stunning the attacking party with my stun blaster. Then, while the attacker is stunned, I’d radio for backup. Ideally, if I’m on patrol with multiple people when this occurs, some could take the officer to the hospital while others arrest the attacking party for assault on a government official." She fiddled with the rings on her fingers. One was shaped like a dinosaur and the other had her birthstone. Both were from her mother and, hence, probably stolen. However, 15-year-old Chiara had not had the guts to ask or attempt to return them. Perhaps she ought to do so. They were cute though. She digressed.
Chiara refocused on the task at hand. "If the space is open or there’s a chance of more individuals presenting themselves, I’d wait till backup arrives before acting unless the officer is in a dire state,” she continued, "Ideally, all patrols and 110 responses ought to be conducted with as many officers as possible as to ensure the safety of everyone involved. However..." The former doctor trailed off, "Sometimes that isn't possible. In that case, if there's an emergency situation, an emergency broadcast ought to be made. Furthermore, with injuries, paramedics are also qualified to respond to medical emergencies, allowing other officers to focus on making the arrest." Another firm nod. Chiara was ACING this thing! "I also have training as a former member of EMS and med school graduate but I am not sure whether I would be allowed to use my skills there for legal reasons. I would absolutely jump in to help if I am allowed though."
What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
"CRIMINAL ORGANIZATIONS?" A dramatic hand fell across the young woman's chest. "How could they? Aren't they supposed to, you know, stop the criminals? Aren't WE supposed to stop the criminals?" Ah, yes. Chiara was, despite everything, slightly naive. She had experienced her fair share of corruption in life. She had enjoyed the company of several corrupt individuals although she was not aware of the extent of their actions. Chiara proceeded with a standard script as she collected herself. Perhaps it wasn't exactly how she would act in reality but she knew the answer would be correct. "Well, firstly, I would need information on the situation. It would be wrong to assume that with insufficient evidence to back it up," she mused, "I'd do this by watching the officer closely, taking notes on who they talk to, their actions, and where they go off-duty. I wouldn't let them know right away. After all, they are a criminal and will probably threaten me if they figure out I'm onto them. Then, I would report them to a higher-up." Chiara rattled off the safe answer. In reality, they were far more likely to confront their corrupt coworker right away if it were someone they were close to. They would come to them from a point of friendship and ask them for what reason they had gone corrupt. Then, either Chiara would convince them to give up corruption or, if the convincing was unsuccessful, she would risk herself and report them to authorities. However, she had a sense that her spoken answer was more accurate to what the higher-ups would prefer. Hence, disgustingly, she had to go with that.
How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
Finally, a scenario Chiara had actually predicted and even prepared for. Woah. Not acting spontaneously? This was new territory for Chiara Matsuno. The woman let out a small sigh. "Well, bribery is a crime, of course. That's the first thing I'd say." She adjusted her posture, placing both of her hands on the table. She may as well show off the rings while she still had them. "I'd inform them of the fine associated. If they choose to continue despite the warning, I would issue the fine immediately. That is very fair." A small frown graced Chiara's lips. Again, bribery seemed like an easy enough offense to avoid but ALAS. Wth criminals, every loophole and possibility needed to be considered. It would be silly to think otherwise.
