TRIVIA QUESTIONS

What is the student council and what do they do?:

The student council is a group that represents the student body of Karakura’s Highschool and Community College. They create event ideas for the school, discipline students that may be causing trouble, and act as guiding role models for the rest of the students in school. Assisting SLT and faculty by helping them control disorder within the school - bringing ideas and worries from the students to SLT and faculty in return. A bridge between the two, and a necessary part of school life.

What motivated you to apply for council? (e.g. Interests, friends, etc.):
Council was one of the first factions I ever considered applying for, which originated from how people I knew in the faction would positively describe their experience. I was relatively new at the time, and a lack of confidence in my writing or ability to handle the stress involved with taking on such a new role prevented me from going through with that idea.

Those days have long since passed - since then, I have experienced working in not only one, but three factions (EMS, Fem Basketball, and Reporter) and in that time had another friend join the council - and while they’ve left the council faction behind, I do bring their experiences and how they speak about the council in mind as I apply. With how they’ve described events, the working of council, the people, and the things they’ve done, I’ve heard a lot more from them about how they enjoyed the faction and found myself wanting to experience this side of SRP as well.

While I’ve experienced plenty of different facets of SRP and been involved with both Sports and Clubs, I have yet to participate in this main student faction - and find myself wishing to do so the more lovely people I meet involved and things I find that I wish to contribute to and partake in.

Are you aware that you’ll be having to use your creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council? (e.g. Coming up and helping with events):
Yes! I am aware, and I’m willing to do so. I have both experience on SRP - my time in EMS, clubs, and Basketball - and IRL - in which the most relevant example being when I was younger and partaking in my school’s student council for quite a many years, which I had been elected for a position on; secretary (while not a hugely exciting achievement, one that remains consistent with the role I’d be playing ICly!) My experience involving teams and especially those of a school based creative environment extends beyond just roleplay.

Can you list the roles in the council along with other roles that might be important to the council?:

SLT
The leadership of the school - the principal, chancellor, dean, vice-principal - you certainly don’t want to end up being sent to them if you’re in trouble. If a situation gets too out of hand for you, faculty, and your fellow councillors to handle - get SLT involved.
Faculty
Teachers, employees, the staff of our school who can assist our council when needed! Council helps them with situations, they help council as well, while not as high-ranking as SLT, certainly necessary.
President
The respective leaders of both Student Councils! They oversee the entire council, handle leading events, meetings, and communicate with the entire council, SLT, and the student body to lead a better environment for us all!
Vice-President
The right hands to our dear presidents. They handle a lot of similar duties, assisting the president and acting as a second person to go to in case the president isn’t exactly free.
Councillor
The main body of the student council! These guys run around doing inspections, handing out detentions, collaborating for school events, and represent the student population.

IC SECTION
SCENARIOS

While students gather for a school assembly, one student behaves disruptively, causing a disturbance. How would you manage the situation to restore order effectively while minimizing any additional disruptions to the assembly?

Bullet points dotted the page, followed by paragraphs in neat handwriting.
➤ Bring the disruptive student aside.
➤ Give them a warning, quietly, possibly a detention depending on the severity of the behaviour.
➤ Make sure to ask if everything is alright, as well as the reasoning behind their behaviour. (Does not apply if the reason is obvious or if it's just simple heckling.)
➤ If further behaviour continues, involve SLT.

A student refuses to take their mask off after you’ve brought up detention and they’ve run away! What do you do?

That same neat handwriting, under the next question. Those same, simple bullet points.
➤ Let faculty and SLT know of the situation.
➤ Try and push for cameras to be checked to either locate the student or see if there’s any footage of their identity.
➤ If found, ask the reasoning behind their behaviour, while also giving them a detention - while making them aware of what their running away and further rule-breaking has brought them in terms of view and discipline.

A teacher observes concerning behavior from a student, including the creation of disturbing artwork and verbal threats toward peers. How would you collaborate with the teacher to evaluate the situation and intervene appropriately to address potential safety concerns?

Bullet points,,, again.
➤ Try and get an understanding from the teacher of the student’s outward behaviour towards themselves and classmates, as well as methods the teacher may have already used to correct this behaviour - understanding what’s worked and what hasn’t.
➤ Have a conversation with the student themself, don’t be directly accusative or harsh, but instead check in on them and try to see how they’re doing, why they’re acting this way.
➤ Depending on the response, it would be best to either direct them towards seeking help from those more apt at assisting them in handling this, or put a spotlight on the punishments they could face by continuing to express these in a school environment.
➤ In the event things go south or get worse despite this, involve SLT.

A group of students asks for your permission to stage a protest on school grounds. Would you allow them to protest? If so, how do you ensure that the protest does not disrupt the school environment while upholding their freedom of expression?

This one, surprisingly DIDN’T start with a bullet point, just a neatly scrawled–
Yes.
The fact they’re asking permission is a good sign already, and expression of opinions - especially for how they might feel they’ve been treated in their school environment - should not be oppressed.

–which was then followed by bullet points…
➤ Make SLT and faculty aware of what’s happening and when, as to make sure they’ll be available to keep an eye on anything that could possibly go wrong.
➤ Plan with the group to centre it in a spot that is eye-catching enough for their protest but won’t directly disturb any classes or other activities. (Near the school pillar, courtyard, etc.)
➤ Make sure their wants and ideas are known to the rest of the council as well as to help further their cause.

A teacher/receptionist has told you that you are doing something that goes against what you were trained by your higher-ups. How would you react to this?

… Something was written here before, faint pencil marks smudged by whatever an eraser left. Bullet points were,, once more written over it.
➤ Fully understand what I have done that has been against my training.
➤ Memorise this behaviour.
➤ Don’t repeat it.
➤ Take the punishment that may be a consequence of said behaviour with grace.

Please provide at least one detailed event that the council can use as a future event to showcase your creativity! (Must be 300 words or more for one event):
Career Fair
While this does include a lot more planning to include participants from various job circles, I believe this could be a greatly informative and fun experience for students to discover various careers, participate in activities related to said careers, and have a further understanding of what they’d like to do in life. From EMS, to KPD, to Government, Shrine, News, School related jobs, and even smaller roles and jobs like specific services some businesses offer. It would include smaller instructional activities lead by different volunteers from those careers as well as perhaps a larger school-wide activity, including a possible trivia contest related to these careers, booths to have personal interviews with workers (who aren’t leading the activities), and maybe even an introductory assembly at the start of the event to introduce each volunteer, their job, and a short anecdote on what they do before separating off into their specific sections.
Some examples of these activities may be;
➤ EMS: First Aid Demonstration, a few EMS workers come in and instruct students through a short first aid course, possibly also demonstrate other medical equipment (nothing that could possibly harm anyone if someone makes a mistake) and bring them through the process of treating a minor injury (with a fake injured individual to test.)
➤ GOVERNMENT: Mock Trial, some students will be assigned different roles to act out an assigned court case, government workers will guide them through this process - showing them how working in a court-space works and teaching them about what else government workers do.
➤ SHRINE: Lecture/Shrine Worker Activities: teaching students all about what shrine workers do all day! Teaching them how to make tea, pray at a Shinto shrine, properly cleanse themselves at a temizuya, and the various other traditions our monastery practices and displays at matsuri and day to day life.

Personal Information
(in character)

Name:

As the rather gangly young boy stepped into the room and slid into the chair before you, the first thing that may be noticed was not only his hunched shoulders but the twitch of his mouth - dark eyes flicking up from the floor to you. “.. My name is Tachitsu - Ryuuji Tachitsu.. it’s a pleasure to meet you.” His lips curled up in a small, pleasant smile. Steeling himself, his expression went from something clearly nervous to one at least mildly more brave.. mildly..

Gender:
Tap.. tap.. tap…. The boy’s pointer tapped against the wooden arm of the chair, a constant rhythm echoing throughout the room. “Aha - I’m a guy.. Y’know - he/him pronouns and all.”

Age:
The way his shoulders slumped in seeming relaxation was either an indicator of growing more comfortable - or simply forced as to bring himself some sort of calm.. “I am seventeen years old, just uh - turned seventeen recently.”

Phone number:
He scrambled to pull his phone from his pocket,,, clearly fumbling with the device in an attempt to open it. “It’s - (030)-466-5682.” And he turned the phone towards you to actually show the number!

How would you describe your personality?:
This question made him shrink in on himself a little - the usual anxiety brought from having to describe himself kicking in at once! Oh god how he hated interviews - they made his skin itch!! “Well - uh-” PULL IT TOGETHER RYUUJI!! “I’m,, well I’m honest! I don’t particularly like lying.. I believe I can be - quite empathetic and understanding - I LIKE TO HELP, I like to help and do what’s right- I’m.. not someone that tolerates others being treated,, without respect. I think everyone deserves to be listened to, heard, and guided if they - need that.” Despite coming out in quick, rambling speech, the words were painfully genuine, not a lick of exaggeration or deceit.

He took a deep breath, gathering himself a little more into something able to better articulate–
“I,, may be a little anxious at times–” Little was an understatement– “I still think I have.. The sorts of traits that would fit being in council - empathy for those that need it rather than cold discipline, understanding for those going through,, things in life possible making them act out–,, honesty is rather important and really is one of my core values, and.. I really just want to help where I can, if I’d be allowed to do that..”

Appearance/attire (Please provide a picture):

The first thing that may be noticed about the boy before you was how - despite the clear tension that constantly lined his shoulders and the deer-in-the-headlights expression he held - his back was kept near perfectly straight, moving with a sort of learned elegance expected of someone of his blood. Tall, long-limbed, and thin; there was an overwhelming awkward feel to him expected of these teen years - young with a quietly frantic energy. Curly dark hair fell over his shoulders in a jellyfish cut, the right side of his bangs - which covered his eye - had faded orangey-red dye dripping from the ends like watercolour. Those strands of onyx were a stark contrast to his milk pale skin - which seemed not just a product of genetics, but perhaps the result of not stepping outside for prolonged periods of time… Dotted along his cheeks were something you could first mistake for freckles from a distance - but soon became apparent as reddened acne scars, both fresh and old, accompanied by newly picked at zits. His other features seemed quite pretty in a somewhat generic way - fitting the beauty standard besides his less than clear skin.

He seemed rather at home in loose-fitting clothes. Usually found in a red sweater over a white collared shirt, paired with a chain belt, baggy black jeans, and plain but clean white sneakers. The rest of his outfits seemed to follow a similar colour theme of baggy reds and oranges. Although, at school, he could be seen wearing the Karakura Highschool masculine uniform - the tie neatly done!

Art is by me!! ColMoJo!!

What separates you from other applicants seeking your position?:
If he allowed himself to be any less composed - he would have quite visibly winced. Luckily, the kami listened to his prayers, for once, and he DIDN’T have a physical reaction to the most dreaded question he’d been asked. How in the world was he supposed to make himself seem better than anyone else?? His voice came out not as shaky as he’d feared, “.. I can’t say that I’m,, so much,, better than anyone else applying - as that would be well- not true.” . . . “I do think that - I am as deserving as anyone else and vice versa. But, maybe I could say that .. some might come in with the ideas that a student is a troublemaker and - only that,, nothing else. Maybe only give punishment with not much,, thought towards how to actually help and - figure out the student’s side of things, the why behind what they did.” He cleared his throat.. “That - isn’t to say every student would just go unpunished moreso that– discipline,, with an attempt to still understand and be there for the student and what they might be going through.”

Why do you want this position?:
He couldn’t exactly start off with– ‘I hope it’d make me more confident’ or ‘Maybe I’ll be a little less disappointing to my family if I actually get involved in things’ or ‘I need a reason to get out of the house and do stuff for once’– None of those were particularly impressive or.. Marketable? Positive? “... I want to be able to make a difference and - support this school, help my fellow students and well - make it a better place, if I can. I uh - think this could be something I could succeed in.” A short answer,, but most of what else he had to say would become repetitive if stated again.

What interests you the most about student council?:
And back again he went to tapping at the arm of his chair,, that same quiet echo of - tap.. tap.. tap.. - over and over again. You’d think by now he’d drive even himself insane… “What drew me in was - I’m gonna sound like a bit of a broken record,, aha,, - the idea of being able to be a support to other students, helping in that sort of way– but if I’m gonna be honest, in preparing this application and all– I had actually quite a bit of fun planning out those events too. I kind of uh - hope - that joining this will be like… a nice community and all– somewhere I can make friends?.. Ifthatmakessense.” His last sentence came out rushed and quick.

What could you contribute to make the school a safe and fun environment?:
Aha,, he scratched the back of his neck. “I’ve,, said before that I want to y’know - be someone people know that they can come to and - be there even for the people who are causing trouble and all,, I don’t want people to be afraid of me–” How he could even think anyone would be afraid of this shaking mess was almost silly– “I believe I could,, bring creativity and fun event ideas– make sure people are heard.”
