My work shifts are either AMs or PMs!
AMs = 5hrs long
PMs = 4.5 hrs long
I'm not fully able to choose what shift I get, but I do mostly have PMs! These are interchangeable, and I have a lot of free time during the summer whether I'm working or not. Other than that, I'm active on SRP in multiple ways. In recent weeks, I have been completing finals for school. Other than work and the gym, I don't have that much on my plate. I frequent the server often and its my go to game. I've been on SRP for around 4 years maybe 5... hard to keep track. No major bans. Three warnings I Believe and they were for very minimal things.
Link any significant applications (e.g., Roles/Teams, exclude languages):
I dont have any other faction applications other than uvg gang requests & languages!
What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
[Three major reasons!]
The first major reason I have for applying is my personal love for journaling and interviewing. I run the school newspaper outside of SRP for my school and have run it for 2+ years with a different team every year. I've loved every second of it. I also plan on this being a possible career for myself. If I can get practice where it's due, I won't drop that opportunity.
Writing has always been a passion of mine; if I'm given the chance to expand on the writing skills I have and also research and learn more about topics by educating myself, I will. There is no doubt that writing has allowed me to learn more about sore topics that are shrouded by media, but also learn more about myself and what I truly care about spreading through my writing. I'm fully prepared to start doing that in the reporter faction. Lastly, the reporter faction seems like a great faction to start with, as this is my first SRP faction after 4 years… Wow.. It seems very friendly and in my personal comfort zone. This would allow me to be creative freely, really capitalising on my personal strengths.
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
Yes, not only do I have experience writing but also developing stories. I'm very familiar with my own writing skills. I've written character sheets, stories, lore, personal essays, research topics and even poetry. I personally have a love-hate relationship with writing, as everyone does; there are moments where writer's block hits me for a few days, and there are moments where I can write away for hours. It's honestly a toxic ex that I keep coming back to… call me Nikki from obsession at this point…
Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
Yes, I'm aware of all the set rules provided in public forums for reporters.
Why should we accept you over others?:
I would say I'm better than other candidates due to my already built skills. I already know how to use Canva, along with having personal policy skills with interviews, journaling and digital media. These skills I already have at least developed a little; I would like to expand them more. They are not perfectly refined but are all at a level where I could manage alone or even in a small team.
Secondly, I have a lot of motivation and excitement for this role. I've been waiting for applications to open since I missed them by a day.. Don't get me started. I’ve spent so much time on my own doing personal passion projects and not being able to share with people, alongside not being able for them to have much relevance. I’ve had a lot of niche ideas and am so very excited to get started!
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports?
(Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
Yes, I do understand reporters must stay neutral and stay clear of OOC or IC bias.
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
Yes, the monthly quota actually seems less than I imagined, and I plan on being very active, especially over this upcoming summer. I also enjoy writing and do it in my free time, so giving myself prompts with this faction not only helps with my writing skills but also with journalism and overall storytelling.
Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
This is assuming most interviews and stories have to be researched In-Character!
Starting with rough drafts of stories or topics and expanding them with first-hand experiences, Locations, known facts, and the attention of the subjects. Going out of your comfort zone to network yourself and your work, getting people comfortable with working alongside you. Once drafts have been set and the main storyboard has been created, it's now time to get to work with photography themes, color choices, and more to really bring your ideal design to life!

The woman's face lit up at the mention of her home country; her eyes held a blank expression; the lack of vision had forced her to squint.

A hush gathered in the room; the woman was oddly silent, not her breathing was heard, yet her chest rose and fell at a consistent level. Calm demeanor, something not appreciated in recent years.
“I've been many things: a priestess, a daughter, successful and dirt poor. But not once have I been afraid. I've been scared, trust me, but never found true fear. I've been on the road searching for that fear in others, the fear of losing loved ones, fear of death… the fear of knowing more than you're supposed to. “ hm… I do expect it to be interesting indeed. This city has so much story to tell and so many people to meet. How could one not be endowed with excitement? So, frankly, my expectations are higher than you might be expecting. But I’ll persevere no matter

Light pollution in Karakura: Where have the stars gone?
Karakura is a bustling city known for its striving for diversity and growth. The Dazzling streets are home to sprawling neighborhoods, a traditional business district, and the community favorite Shotaigai shopping district. As the city has expanded, the daytime has reflected its active community. By night, the city seems to be missing something important. The stars.
Stars have become an ever-loving natural wonder. Loved by astronomers, stargazers, or normal passersby. The dazzling twinkle all captivated us. So where have they gone? Well, one common word comes to mind. Light Pollution a common thing in cities and the surrounding suburbs. But this, my friends, is what is responsible for the disappearance.
For a long while, the city has grown, from a small town to a bustling city. But with the growth came a cost. Natural beauties became shrouded by the man-made ones. So this reporter took it upon herself to find the best places for your stargazing date nights, pondering moments, or even nature retreats.
TOP PICK!
After some exploring of the outskirts of the mountains, I've found a lovely yet abandoned cabin by the name of Takagi Hut. Due to its location, the high mountains are far from any major district. It's the perfect place for a nice visit. It gives a great view of the city, but also the clear sky allows for 78% star visibility, the official highest in the local area.
RUNNER UPS!
The runner-ups are both located on opposite sides of the very loves karakura beach. The very first runner-up would be the Tori gate located near the Toggi tunnel. Not only is this a hot spot for proposals, but also..! An amazing view of the ever-longing sea. Allowing a clear, open sky for stargazing, with a glance into the sea, you can also see a wonderful reflection of 68% star gazing opportunity!
The second runner up is directly across from the tori gate, well known as ‘The LightHouse’, not only does the light house give you a birds eye view, but it also brings a comfortable sitting experience. Above you will notice around 46% star gazing opportunity. The sunset makes up for it!

Interview:
" Deep dive into Karakura police. "
Claudine Saint-Clair
Shaakii Heddo
Recorder
[!] A voice recorder clicked on. [!]
[!] A squeaky chair muffled in the background before a voice clearly spoke through. [!]
[!] A rustic older male spoke; he was clear and concise. [!]
“My name is Shaakii Heddo, Detective of the Karakura police department. I'm here for a wrap-up interview to elaborate on my recent kidnapping. “
[!] The foreign-accented female returned to the recorder. [!]
“Well, it started like any normal work day, I got up bright and early. Normally, it would have been a slow day, full of paperwork and office coffee. But for some odd reason, I decided to head out on a patrol. I was by myself.” He chuckled. “That was my first mistake. Upon entering the abandoned powerplant, I was then briefly surrounded and hit in the chest. Where you would normally clip your body camera. Then, as I attempted to react, I was very heavily hit right in the back of the head… knocked me straight out. After that its honestly a bit of a daze from there.“
[!] fast writing could be heard, as if someone was taking notes. [!]
[!] Claudine pried the question more, as if she was not satisfied. [!]
“ Well, I’d say the moment I knew I was in danger was after I woke up from the second hit, I was in an unfamiliar place. The windows were foggy and only faced the sky. Upon further inspection, the three individuals had blades. One of those blades threatened my neck. That is the moment when I knew I must remain calm and play my cards for my life."
“That’s quite fascinating, only three individuals.. That's quite low. Did you understand the motives they had to take such a gamble to kidnap you?”[!] The male grunted at the sly yet disguised comment. [!]
“ I… After I was retrieved, I was informed that… The so-called kidnappers were a criminal organization. They disagreed with the recent law on cloak bans and …” The detective hesitated for a brief second. “My recent arrest made.”
[!] A tense pause weighed you down…before Claudine continued. [!]
[!] an erie creek followed, you’d imagine someone leaned back in their seat. [!]
“As a detective, I was surprised by the outcome, and to be honest, it was a sloppy job. I returned with no injuries, other than a concussion and head trauma. Now I was back in business within a few days! Let's give our detectives a break, eh?”
[!] slight chuckles were heard from both ends, they were practiced and tense. Professionals who knew how to act. [!]
“I assume you all keep busy. Are you able to elaborate on your emotions during the kidnapping? Were you stressed, maybe filled with fear?”
[!] An intense question, yet interesting for a detective. The male chuckled before answering [!]
“Anyone would experience fear for their life in a situation like that, I’d say I was calmer than most would. But I’d have to say that emotions are things we all feel the same way in intense situations.”
[!] Scribbling would be heard yet again. [!]
“ Where were you located? Could you describe the process by which other detectives locate you?
“I was located in the abandoned I complex. The kidnappers broke in and kept me in an abandoned apartment. As for the process, I cannot elaborate on it. “
“Could you possibly explain how long it took for the Karakura police to find you?”[!] Claudine attempted to get anything she could out of a poor elaboration. A sigh from the detective came through. [!]
“I’m safe to assume it took around two days to find my whereabouts. Thats All.”
[!] Claudine abruptly cut back in pursuing more. [!]
[!] A grumble came from the male, before a chair scoot. Maybe an adjustment of posture. [!]
“ I did not once. Second-guess my safety. I trust in the fellow detectives just as the citizens do. In no way will I ever second-guess my colleagues in such a dire situation. That's how you get yourself injured or worse… killed. “
[!] The seriousness and tone of the detective came through as concise as possible, elaborating himself with confidence. [!]
[!] Shaakii Heddo cleared his throat. [!]
“ I will make sure that no citizen of Karakura will ever experience something as violent and detrimental to their being as I have, ever again. I have sworn an oath, so have my fellow karakura police workers. Do not fear for your safety under the Karakura police. You. Are. Safe.
[!] The sound of Shaakii Heddo removing himself from the room, shuffling chairs, and brisk footsteps. Claudine was delighted with the reaction dialed in. [!]
