[!] A few moments of silence was broken by the surrounding bird's song and whistle of early morning wind, the tapping of high-end loafers dwindling off leading to the interviewer clearing her throat. [!]
[ʚǐɞ]: "Well, if I take a few months off of work? I'd be fired! . . Up to yourselves for the opinion on that breaking question!"

As the recording ended in a significant buzz, the desk was left with silence and the curdling echo of curiosity and quiet best wishes—ravenette waterfall of hair whisking out the door with the tipping of luxury heels and a jade bracelet's final chime against the metal handle. . Was I just given more to review? Damnit..

Describe your activity:
My activity on the server is if anything—predictable! My captain role forces me to be on consistently while not overreigning the likelihood of using another character. My practices are usually on Sundays at 6 pm EST, always ensuring I’ll be on then. Other days in the week? I can be found around 3-8 PM during weekdays, except Monday! I’m always far too busy Monday. Isn’t everyone?
While it’s true I struggle with burnout, I can combat that by doing exactly this—branching out! My recent involvement in a few friend projects and team changes have continued my love for the server and motivation to get involved with my community.

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
I'd like to bring life into my Wong. I found that simply doing adultRP without being within a faction has proven difficult. I figured if I were to involve myself in factions it'd open up opportunities. However, that’s just motivation for joining a faction. Reporter specifically comes from the curiosity and excuse to go digging into people’s business! ICly, of course. I’ve been in many factions—EMS, Sports, shrine.. But all of them tend to be almost restricting. Sports less so, but there are character limits really! EMS? You can’t go anywhere! Shrine? You ALSO can’t go anywhere.
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
I’ve been writing my stories that range from ridiculously cringey to dreadfully tragic since I can remember. Although my love towards it really blossomed in SRP—I’ve always seen glimpses of it in my Language Arts class before I stopped going to school. Just like my relationship with anything deeply personal, it was complicated for a few years. I enjoyed having an outlet for my creativity (since I suck at art) but hated READING it the most. Thankfully, as I’ve matured so has my patience and I find that there is nothing I love to do more than tell a story. Even if I hate quality control, the emotions that come through it make the endless time spent worth it.
Writing has become not just an outlet, but an essential core to my very person. I’ve been drafting a novel of Himawari Heddo’s story from this server for pete’s sake! That takes way too much commitment and thinking than a simple hobby should—l wouldn’t be the same person if I hadn’t learned just how important telling a story is to me.
Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
Absolutely. Rules make things fun! Right, guys? Right.
Why should we accept you over others?:
My passion for unique character design and lore.
It's no surprise that I enjoy making characters, and have even helped those who needed a story or initial ideas for their own! Though what is surprising is how efficiently I've been able to do it. I've had people send me a picture of their character asking for a unique idea, a new take. In under ten minutes I'll give them a simplified version of a backstory, traits that separate their character from others, and even links to the design such as a reasoning for a scar. This happens often, I've become someone to go to for helping a beautiful creation come to the server, and I am so grateful for people trusting this of me. My lore-heavy adoration of design is something I'm very proud of. I believe this can assist with adding flare to reports that might seem a little dull on the surface—people overlook reports too often because they’re overly drab! You can spice things up without making them a lie.
I'm fantastic at entertaining people.
I know— call me a clown! To give people a little chuckle during a serious moment, or even make those close to me cry with an overly dramatic monologue? To seek entertainment and a bigger story is no doubt something that I believe separates me and a few others. I'm capable of writing moments that encourage those around me to improve their own roleplay as I've been told. Or, even make a character of theirs feel betrayed, and lost. Carrying on a story that most would've dropped. The kind of feeling that you'd stare at in a play, feeling sorrow for the main character as she's pushed down to her knees once more by the antagonist. I'm absolutely the mentioned antagonist in most scenarios I get into—throw me a bone, we all enjoy playing the evil characters.
My style of writing.
Writing is another form of art, something everyone takes their own style into. Yet most stick to a certain formula, keeping it relatively simple. I prefer to consistently use metaphors and ****ogies to flip inanimate objects on their head and treat them as if real. I've found my form of writing to catch attention quickly, remaining readable but enticing. Everything has meaning during a story, even rain that appears 'out of nowhere'. To work off of your surroundings and bring life to everything, a vision forming in readers minds is something I'm proud of being able to do! Maybe I sound a little too confident, but if what I do makes ME feel as engaged as I do? I like to think others enjoy it too.
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
Absolutely. As fun as it’d be for her character, it’d suck the enjoyment out of getting general information and multiple views!
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
Absolutely!
Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
If I had to take a swing, I’d assume it’d be mostly workshopping with yourself. You can go out and get data, but what it’s about is far more important than how MUCH of it. Anyone can ask any group of people a question and make a little chart—but finding a topic? That’s the real twister! After you find a topic, then you have to find people in relation to it. Which might be easier for some things than others! Almost like a deeply unofficial detective putting together the little red strings on a cork board. If you find the person, then you have to put together a whole list of things they only MIGHT answer—characters can be mysterious! It’s being nosey, getting your feet wet and praying you won’t get frostbite.

╔⏤⏤⏤╝❀╚⏤⏤⏤╗

Dust motes are cradled in the air by a beam of light, shifting in the window’s reflection as an underpaid and overworked assistant tidies up their desk. I find my mind dragging across the practically endless waves of disappointing amateur reports as appealing as sandpaper grinding down my neurons—cheap coffee burning my upper lip already leaving a bad taste on my tongue.
I should’ve thrown these out by now. You’d think there would be more than two interesting papers out of a heaping lineup, but I’ve proven myself wrong time and time again. My dreadfully threaded oxfords made a painfully shrill squeak against the linoleum floor as I began to gather my sparse belongings—only for my departure to be interrupted by the hefty door creaking open. A silken gloved hand coiled around it’s frame like a snake to it’s branch, “Pardon me.” She spoke like a wisp threatening the grass. Words of thickened tar and cloy honey.
My eyes narrowed whilst the surface of my skin boiled in goosebumps, hesitantly parking back into the scuffed leather surface my sorry excuse of a chair had worn down to. “If you’re here to grab a newspaper, they’re at the front. Application wise, I’m—” It wasn’t long before my train of thought had been derailed with the distraughtingly hypnotic echo of high-end heels approaching. At first I thought an ink pot had tipped as I glanced at the floor—only to find the spill floating upwards and tangled around sunkissed digits. Her hair was practically a waterfall of the stuff, completely covering any hint of the features laying beneath that vineyard wall of black tresses.
Before I could dismiss the boundary stretching, quiet madame intruding in my space? What met my eyes were frilled lace sleeves—gloves shed and d****d on her forearm—and a dreadfully deceitful manicure outstretching a business card across my desk.

To my surprise, that damn thing was the world’s least informative brochure. It held the very summary of this woman’s identity, yet all I could see of her face was an amber eye reflecting the overhead light—flickering in threat to give out. My glove wrinkled at the palm as I held my head, the other occupied with holding this compact of general information. She clearly wasn’t leaving.
“Alright. How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?”
Her spindling digits danced across the veil of tar to reveal a gracefully mature face, almost maternally gentle despite the childish nature of hiding behind her own hair. A heavy lid, either weighed down by her lashes or exhaustion—blinking in response before her crimson tinted lips parted to talk before she could think.
"Undoubtedly committed and inquisitive, maintaining a deep understanding and empathy. I follow what is right, but even I have to do what it takes to climb the walls of societal limits. I’m often an unbiased mediator to those that seek it, yet an unforgiving mentor for those that need it.”
She folded her hands as if her entrance was polite to begin with—better late than never, I suppose. My head started to slip from my hands, eyes bursting open in the struggle to maintain consciousness. Either this coffee sucks, or the dust motes trinkling in by the second are making me see stars. There is this sudden shroud of comfort seeping into my skin and the muscle beneath, my eyes running down from her visage to the papers under apparent review.
“What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?”
"I’m curious about covering the internal workings for the departments in charge of our town, much of what they do or consider doesn’t get brought to our attention. Leading to unrest and an upheaval of conspiracy. I’m sure they’re hiding something deep within those ranks, but if it’s for the greater good is another story—one I’d like to see uncovered.”
I saw the hesitation creeping in her eyes like a bug immortalized by an amber cage, quiet and forever seen instead of heard.
"I haven’t exactly been known to mind my own business, yet I don’t frequent myself around authority. But my hunger for an answer is far more ravenous than to be comfortable—I’ve lived in comfort for years.”
“What are your expectations for the job?”
"Long nights, even longer days. Treating paranoia like a hint towards the next scoop, the chance to get myself involved with a crowd I’m not familiar with—either I want it or not. The ability to manipulate the public eye either being misused or trusted in the hands of the wrong people that I have to witness. I don’t want to be a superhero that alerts people, just the one to make a community reconsider their strengths.”
While I mentally recorded her answers somewhere, I found my pen seesawing off my fingers before the clicker tapped against a crumpled sticky note left to rot despite sticking to the surface of my desk, “Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below—”
The pen rattled out of my hand and carefully rolling off as Mrs. Wong softly hit the end off and away from the paper. "No need.” Short and sweet it is then, just gonna take that as a proper ‘No’ and move on. It’s for the best—peering down at the hastily pasted together clippings of her own mock report.

A strangely ‘retro’ recorder was slid across the desk; the thing looked practically ancient in comparison to the standard recording devices most journalists and official reporters have been using. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it, I suppose. Her tapered ruby nails clicked on the red button—a steady stream of wind and bustling morning activity seeping through the speaker.

[ʚǐɞ]: "Good morning! We've met previously, I'd like to ask you a few questions about our Government if you wouldn't mind?"
[]: "No, dear."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Lovely. To start off, are you aware of our Mayor's existence? His name obviously, and his actions for our city?"
[]: "Iwao Akihito, and he made a public act to set Katsuhito Akihito-Saiky the acting Mayor after an axe had been slammed into his back during a meeting."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Sounds about right—Out of all the government officials, who have you seen actively in our community?"
[]: "Sotoshi Nakazumi, Romulus Giodano, Ji K. Kaizen, Gyuri Ha, and Katsuhito Akihito-Saiky."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Do you find that any of the individuals listed have made an impact on our city whilst the Mayor has been M.I.A from his tragedy?"
[]: "A few, mostly focusing on crime rather than anything. But other than that, nothing."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Oh? You’ve noticed a focus on crime, could you elaborate? Or was it just off the top of your head?"
[]: "Just off the top of my head."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Understood, no worries. When it comes to our government, would you say they're neglecting issues such as the decaying construction and dangerous housing standards? Or, are they focusing on the right tasks?"
[]: "I would say that there aren't enough Government Officials to tackle every single issue this town has. I do think that they are focusing on the most important tasks."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Interesting! Would you attribute the lack of government officials to our Mayor's lack of presence? Do you think Acting Mayor Katsuhito Saiky-Akihito was left with far too much for one man to handle?"
[]:"I think that is more so the fact that they believe the town will listen to laws that are implemented. You cannot argue with an idiot."
[!] A quick pause as the sound of stifled laughter was lost between background leaves and the scuffle of shoes [!]
[ʚǐɞ]: "Could you elaborate further?"
[]: "The more rules you put in place, the more people are willing to break them. The government is trying to take hold of the criminals in this town, rather than contain."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Fascinating view! Would you say that the criminal underbelly of Karakura is encouraged to do what they do best with the disappearing act of our Government, do you think it'll only get worse?"
[]: "I don't think it matters if the Government is present or not."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Really? In that case… What would you personally like to see the government take further action on for our city's sake?"
[]: "A firm stature in their ranks, rather than a temporary replacement."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Oh absolutely. It seems to be getting under many civilian's skins! With this temporary replacement, do you think he'd be better suited if made officially Mayor rather than Iwao?"
[!] A quick continuation before the interviewee could reply [!]
[ʚǐɞ]: "Or does it just feel like a P.R move to even have an acting mayor?"
[]: "I think a new Mayor should be appointment by the mainland, rather than somebody who is as egotistical as Katsuhito."
[ʚǐɞ]: "For our next election, do you really think it should be handled by Mainland? Does it seem like our votes wouldn't matter?"
[]: "Dear, there are no elections here, we are not a democracy."
[ʚǐɞ]: "That's true now. There use to be."
[]: "Used to be, yes. Then we were you know, too fucking stupid."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Do you think they should bring it back? Or, would we ruin ourselves once more?"
[]: "I think it would be the same result, and this town would nosedive."
[ʚǐɞ]: "Yeaaah. Yeah. Final question! Do you believe Iwao Akihito is unfit to be our Mayor anymore?"
[]: "I think anybody who has been in a coma for months is unfit."
[]: "No, dear."
