WHAT is White Knuckle?
White Knuckle is a Street-Crew focusing on a sub-culture called the Bōsōzoku, which literally means ”reckless running tribes’, or more commonly ’delinquent biker gangs’. The Street-Crew itself focuses on troubled teenagers and college dropouts as they struggle with violent tendencies and societal norms. They are driven by rebellion and the ever-spiralling need for notoriety, whether it’s through petty shoplifting and street racing to demonstrations of power - in our world, strength commands respect.
From an OOC standpoint, White Knuckle prioritise Play-2-Lose as their intended means of combat, using DetailRP to create enjoyable and unique encounters for all sides. As well as that, White Knuckle have a larger focus on internal roleplay, from casual meet up’s with the Street Crew to intense moments with the Yakuza.
White Knuckle LORE!?
To understand White Knuckle’s origins, you’ll have to take a step back and explore the roots of the Street-Crew; their Frontman, Ani Matsumoto.
As a child, Ani Matsumoto grew up in the Kanagawa Prefecture of Honshū. Just like everybody, his place of birth changed him; made him what he is today. His situation was a rightly uncommon one, he was born into the family of a man who was the in-between of the Bōsōzoku and the Yakuza. Gurentai. His father had spent his life constantly moving from Zoku-To-Zoku, careless for the family he was pulling along like fish taut against a hook, unable to get away during his ruthless path of destruction until one day, he grew so notorious that the likes of Yakuza sort him out.
After years of the same old, the family grew disconnected, pulled in different directions by one man alone; their father. The mother had ran away at the first opportunity that presented itself, pushed into a cruel mindset where she’d rather abandon her two children than remain present with a torn family. Toma Kasawa, his at-the time 17 year old son was forced into a life of violence as his father extorted his rather prodigy-worthy fighting prowess, the details of what was happening at the time weren’t accessible for young Ani Matsumoto.
Time moved on frighteningly quick, more so than the two could admit too. Yet, somehow, that was a life-changing realisation that two brothers couldn’t stick around any longer, not with some deadbeat father who saw them as little as a place for profit to be made. So, the two took off in flashy, modified BMW E30, leaving the Kanagawa Prefecture for what they thought would be the last time.
