Describe your activity on the server:
Around 2022 is when I officially joined the server after searching for some kind of roleplay server, outside of creative servers. During that first year of mine, I learned a lot about roleplaying on this server specifically. I took a 2-ish year on and off break as I was busy with my real life. I would hop on from time to time a few times a month to be around. As of December 2024 roughly, I came back fulltime to SRP and have not left since aside from a week off. Right now, my activity is fully present, I am on about 7 days a week, between 6-8 hours a day. Sometimes more depending on if I have plans the next day or not. Here is what my typical week looks like;
MON.
TUES.
WED.
THURS.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
When I joined SRP, I was around for about 2 months before I decided to dip my toes into factions. I joined the School Employee Faction as a School Nurse named Aiko Yamashita. A few months into the faction, I was named the Head Nurse which I held for about a month and a half before real life called me elsewhere. During my time as a nurse, I experienced a lot of different things, how to handle newer players, how to accurately do MedicRP, and the different processes that nurses do versus EMS do. Also how to do first aid in SRP.

Coming back to SRP in December of 2024 fully, I laid low for a few months to get back to being acquainted with the server. Get into the groove of things again before deciding to join a faction. Around May, or possibly a bit earlier I applied to come back to the employee as a librarian this time, I didn’t feel I was ready to branch out yet and I knew the quota for the most part with the employee faction. Coming to be a librarian, I got to learn new sets of commands and how to do a few more things. In terms of roleplay, it was honestly slow when not many people came up to the library. I would really enjoy it when people or other faction tag players came up to roleplay with me. I left about September-October due to being a bit bored of not having much action and I wanted to focus more on my club.

Just a bit after getting librarian, I also applied for a club known as Astrology Club, around June is when I got accepted and still currently in the faction. I have no plans to leave that faction as I am very happy. With having that added on my plate, I learned so much about time management, and how to manage a group of people with altering timezones.

What is your motivation for applying?
Since the start of my journey on this server, I’ve only really stuck to the school faction in terms of faction based tags, such as nurse, librarian, club-leader, and now volleyball. I feel as though I am ready to experience an entirely new field of the server, watching my friends be in EMS and state how much they enjoyed it, over and over again, I am ready to extend myself to that faction. I feel as though my knowledge on the server has grown tenfold, I’m comfortable with how quota works, even if the EMS quota is a bit more extensive, I’m ready for that challenge. With my older experiences in NurseRP, it sparked an interest in the medical field of SRP, that is, I know they have more extensive aspects and I would love to explore that.

I also know you prefer those with not as many factions tags, I am apart of Volleyball and Club-Leader, but those will not derail from my activity within the EMS faction, my quota for those are easy to grab and I’m quite the multitasker, I normally always have two accounts running at once. I have reached a point with each of those factions where I know the schedule of when to be the most active, with the club faction, it is very lax with activity as long as we have a plan actively going then we are good. My plan with EMS is to be on daily for a few hours, especially more during the busier hours where IC students are prone to be injured more.

Which role are you applying for?
Doctor

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
Prior to the faction, I actually did the internship that was hosted this. I would like to state that I do not know everything but I would like to think I know a bit about each department.

Departments
Paramedic
Doctor
Psychiatrist
They are first responders. This department handles urgent situations both and out of the hospital. This includes responding to emergency calls throughout Karakura, they offer immediately life saving care. What they typically do is first assess the patient's condition, provide any kind of first aid needed while waiting for a doctor to handle anything they can not. Their forefront goal is make sure the patient is stable enough before hand off, they can perform a few things such as fixing a broken nose, or some types of stitching suture. They also get to operate the ambulance which has first aid instruments to help them.
This department is honestly the heart of the hospital, they handle most cases and perform life saving surgeries. Doctors mainly focus on diagnosing, performing tests, and addressing any concerns. They also will typically be the ones to prescribe medicine. Also handling all kinds of machines such as the CT-Scan, MRI-Scan, and other machines used to help with diagnosis. Doctors are fully licensed professionals outside of training, they also will typically handle morgue work if there is any. They are trained fully on all aspects of the body, be it internal or external issues.
Psychiatrists are geniuses of neurology, they study all things psychology which helps them with determining a patient's mental stability. They specialize in categorizing mental illnesses and prescribing medications based on what will best help the person. Not only do they prescribe medications after diagnosis, they also will most often conduct appointments to help the patient work through these issues. Helping them figure out the way to cope with whatever issue there is, such as PTSD, depression, and even more. By combining the use of counseling and medications, they aim to improve their patients' quality of life.

Hospital Ranks
TraineeTrainees are the newest and lowest ranking members of the hospital staff. In this period of their careers, they gain hands-on experiences with their preferred roles. The period will last till their supervisors feel they are ready to move onto the next step.
Dr. & Psych ResidentA psychiatry resident is someone who is undergoing specialized training to become a psychiatrist, which is someone that deals with mental health and other issues of the brain. They work under hospital supervision to develop the skills and expertise needed to practice effectively in their field.
A doctor resident, or also known as a medical resident, are recent graduates undergoing clinical training in their position at the hospital. They gain practical experience to master their responsibilities and provide effective patient care.
Attending Drs. & PsychsThese roles are fully licensed and are capable of supervising their own tasks at hand, they are considered Doctors and Psychiatrists at this point. Within the hospital faction, they are the most trusted roles, and capable of taking on patients without someone to overlook them.
Clinical Leads & Chief ParamedicsThese are ranks that climb the hospitals ladder, they can also be seen as heads of their departments. Those who overlook the rest in their department and are able to manage it.
DirectorAt the top of the ladder would be the Director, the one who runs the entire hospital and its procedures. Every decision made goes through them for the final say, and they control any major surgeries.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I fully understand this.

SECTION 1: PERSONAL DETAILS
Entering the room with unspoken confidence, standing tall and composed, the woman quickly made her way over to the sit, but not without first bowing towards the person hosting her interview today. After a quick look around, Se-na moves towards the chair and sits down, smoothing the sleeve of her coat as she gets comfortable. Her hands rested neatly in her lap, and she focused her attention forward with a mutually welcome expression.

Image
The interviewer briefly reviews the file before looking up.
“Let’s start with your full name.”

Quietly clearing her throat, fingers slotting together, “My name is Se-na Baek.”
Image

Image
The interviewer jotted down a check next to her name on the file, also seeming to clear their throat. A small nod was given,
“Perfect. Gender and your preferred pronouns? If applicable.”

Se-na would wait for them to finish their sentence before drawing a small smile across her lips, “Certainly. I am a female, and I use she and her pronouns.”
Image

Image
Another moment would be had as their pen met with the paper, a quiet noise was heard.
Your age at acceptance of this position?”

“I am currently fourty-four years old.” Her head would dip politely, wasn’t it rude to ask a woman her age? Well, she knew this was an interview but still. Some decency could be used, or was that old school thinking?
Image

Image
A page turned,
“Can you tell me about your academic background?”

Now they were finally getting to the good stuff, well somewhat. “Sure, I was originally from Korea but was offered a scholarship to the University of Tokyo for their programs. I also completed my residency at their hospital.”
Image

Image
It took a moment to jot that all down, well more so taking any notes to make sure it wasn’t different from her application.
Nationality?”

“I am Korean, I was born in Seoul in the Maqo-gu District.” Her voice remained even through the entire thing.
Image

Image
The interviewer glanced up to look her over before tapping their ballpoint pen against the paper.
Marital status?”

There was a brief pause, subtle yet noticeable. “I am currently divorced.”
Image

Image
The interviewer glances up quickly, then back down to the paper. As to not be nosy or make it awkward.
Religious denomination?”

Another pause would be held in the air, “I do not follow any specific religion.”
Image

Image
A pen taps lightly against the paper.
“And the languages you speak?”

“I am fluent in Korean, Japanese, and I also learned to speak Jin.” She remains quiet after answering, her posture and unchanged.
Image

Finally the interviewer cleared their throat. “Thank you for your time today. We will be in touch,” they stood up as Se-na did, shook hands before she left that room. Se-na felt confident about this.

Character Backstory (Optional):
1,101 words.
Growing up in Seoul, she had always been observant in a way that set her apart from others her age. She noticed the small things, how others seemed to function from day to day, what made them different. It was not something she ever spoke about, it was just a quiet habit of understanding the world around her, how it worked, what made it up. That awareness found a direction the day a close family member had a medical emergency, it was her first taste of getting to see inside any type of hospital room. During that time, she would recall the fear of losing someone, it’s a lot for someone at that age but watching those doctors work, fueled her desire to begin the journey. Their voices were steady, their actions had a rhythm, and there was that big sense of order in everything they did. How they handled people, themselves included, she wanted that. To be that level of professional where her voice never raises, where her emotions never needed to show aside from compassion. For Se-na she saw how knowledge and composure could change the outcome of something so fragile. It stayed with her long after everything had settled.

After that, her interest in medicine grew quietly but steadily. She had been open about her goals, to her friends mainly, nothing to her family just yet. Her focus on schoolwork became more priority, more important to her, and she began setting her own version of expectations for herself that went beyond the required standards. She found herself drawn to biology and anything that had to do with the human body, she spent mostly all of her free time tied to her desk until she understood it. There was a sense of comfort in learning how things functioned, in knowing that even something as complex as the human body followed patterns that could be studied and understood. While her peers often changed interests or struggled picking, Se-na was fortunate to know that this was truly something she wanted as a career. It was something that drove her to be more motivated to learn, to become the best version of herself.

As she moved through her teenage years, that sense of direction only became stronger. She built routines that kept her focused, balancing school with independent study and maintaining a level of discipline that others sometimes found odd, but she did not mind that. She simply knew what it was she wanted out of life. Se-na was not unfriendly, or unkind, she was simply reserved to remain as focused as she could on studies. Despite that, her teachers recognized her dedication, and her academic performance reflected the effort she consistently put in. When she eventually graduated, no one had needed to ask where she could go to school, or even what she would pursue. She had been open about her studies.

Leaving Korea was not something she took lightly, but when the opportunity presented itself, she accepted without hesitation, it wouldn’t be smart to decline. This was when her journey at the University of Tokyo began, or also known as Todai, her goal was to reach her PhD in medicine. Moving to a new country meant stepping away from everything familiar, from her environment to the structure she had grown used to, she liked challenges however. The transition was not seamless, her parents cried, mother worried, siblings rooted for her. There were moments of isolation, moments where the pressure of expectations felt heavier than before, and moments where the pace of medical school seemed almost overwhelming. Still, Se-na approached those challenges the same way she approached everything else. She learned to adapt the best she could, the only way she knew how, observe everything and everything till she understood it. From mental notes, to mimicking what she needed in order to adapt, to learning the pattern. Everything was done so that her struggles were never shown on the surface.

It was during these years she met Kanoko, someone who would become one of the few constants in her life. They were the same age and enrolled in the same program, it was only natural they met. For the first few interactions, it was simple conversations about the usual, what they specialized in or were interested in, how their workload was going. Over time it had grown, soon they would see each other in study groups, or decide to head for the library together. Kanoko’s presence brought a sense of ease that Se-na had not realized she needed. Where Se-na was more reserved and inward, Kanoko was more open, nothing felt forced between them.

Medical school itself proved to be one of the most challenging periods of Se-na’s life. The long hours, constant evaluations, and emotional strain of clinical training pushed her far beyond what she had ever experienced. There were days that blended into nights, moments where exhaustion was second nature, everything that was once simple now had more levels to it, sometimes it felt even too much to do those tasks. Through it all, Se-na remained as steady as she could, telling herself just another week till to the end, it was nice that she had Kanoko there to ground as well. She did not allow herself to fall behind, even when it meant sacrificing rest or personal time. Luckily, with Kanoko being there, they challenged each other to stay on top of things, flash cards, random quizzes when they went on walks. As much as they could do in order to stay knowledgeable.

Finally, through the program they would begin clinical exposure, through this is where she discovered her love for cardiology. Since the beginning of her career, to now, her personality had shifted, she had changed in the most obvious ways. From how she carried herself, to how she conversated with others, even the way she looked over others had changed. When they say that medical school makes or breaks you, it definitely made Se-na the woman she was now. Each step was another day of learning something new, how she let it change her life, to how it shaped her into a woman that even her family would be proud of. Given that that interest picked up, she devoted her unused time to studying it, every pattern, the way it worked, even going as far as seeking out study groups based around it. By the time she completed her degree, she had become someone who could be relied on, not just academically, but professionally.

Now.. for the next step in her life, transferring to Karakura Hospital.

What is your character’s medical specialty? Why did they choose this focus?
Se-na specializes in cardiology, after being drawn to it through her clinical exposure classes. During her years at University of Tokyo, she became aware of how intricately delicate the heart was and its systems surrounding it. Unlike other medicine, cardiology demanded a level of precision and consistency that matched her mindset. The idea that a single organ could determine the rhythm of a person’s life fascinated her, especially how quickly things could change without proper care. Or even with proper care, in the blink of an eye.

Her decision was also influenced by early experiences growing up in Seoul. When her aunt was taken to the hospital over cardiac arrest, she remembered the fear that thrummed inside herself, how it could have been her last time. Around the time her interest sparked, she remembered asking those doctors how often different things occurred, and remembered learning how often people had heart-related issues. Instead of feeling intimidated by the pressure of treating such cases, Se-na felt a stronger sense of purpose. Cardiology required calm decision making, attention to detail, and the ability to stay steady under pressure, it was the most important organ, any slip up could mean death to anyone.

Ultimately she chose cardiology because it challenged her in meaningful ways. It allowed her to apply her discipline and focus on something that directly impacts people’s lives. For Se-na, it is not about understanding the heart, it’s about taking on the responsibility of learning to care for it. How each heart in every body is different.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Having obtained her Ph.D degree, she completed her residency training at the affiliated hospital of the University of Tokyo. During her residency period, she received training in practical knowledge and skills and attended many patients. She paid greater attention to cardiologists and became more proficient with the help of intensive training in a clinical setting.

After completing her residency program, Se-na continued to practice medicine at the affiliated hospital for two additional years. At this stage, she was responsible for providing health services to her patients and making healthcare decisions independently.

Finally, after a divorce, at the age of twenty-nine, Se-na decided to move back home to Seoul along with Kanoko, with whom she worked during her residency period. Having found a job as a physician at Asan Medical Center, Se-na developed her medical practice skills further. Which would bring us up to the present day, where she is currently forty-four years old. Over the last three years of her life, she took a leave of absence to enjoy the slow life from forty-one to forty-four. Where she now wishes to step back into the life.

Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
The essence of freshly steeped chamomile embraces her dainty frame as rays of sun sprout from her scalp, dancing down her bodice in vivacious ringlets. Her golden curls liven her ivory complexion, one unscathed by blemish or woe. The only hint of imperfection lies within the smile lines that caress her cheeks whenever she dons a graceful smile. Her temperament follows the tranquility of quaint streams, steady, slow, rhythmic. It is often that her voice follows the same lilt of serenity, not to be mistaken with fragility. After all, porcelain is crafted to endure.

Image

How does your character act around the hospital?
Se-na has a calm demeanor around the hospital setting and is generally relaxed. She is disciplined and does things in an efficient manner since she likes to focus more on her tasks rather than chat. She takes time observing and taking note of the situation before making any move.

In terms of interacting with others, Se-na maintains professionalism with little enthusiasm in conversations. She does not engage in talks when she is actively working, but when there is no current task, she can be quite the conversationalist.

As far as her patients are concerned, Se-na shows a little bit more of her soft side. She still appears calm and collected, but she speaks with a little more compassion when explaining certain illnesses. She does not bombard them with irrelevant facts, she just gives them the information they need.

In summary, Se-na is a quiet professional all around the hospital. She never tries to draw attention to herself, but she always gets things done without hesitation. She can sometimes be the more levelheaded one when needed.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
However, Se-na is equally proficient in both situations despite being more suited to independent work. She is extremely self-sufficient in that she can concentrate for long hours without requiring constant supervision or encouragement. In the process of working alone, she will be productive, and tends to work a bit quicker in order to get it done without sacrificing details.

Nevertheless, she is equally adept in group situations and recognizes the significance of cooperation in hospitals. When needed, she will speak clearly and follow procedures. Moreover, she will recognize the position of other individuals in the organization and respect their contributions.
