There laid on that hospital bed was a striking young woman with beautiful long blonde hair that stopped at her rear end. She was gorgeous. And in her hands laid a newborn baby girl. . She simply refused to take her eyes off of her precious infant, And in that moment for Katherine it was just her and Eurydice against the world.
Growing up, Eurydice was a very timid and stand-offish child. Although doing relatively well in school she suffered greatly with paying attention. She didn't have many friends but most would consider her pretty popular. Whether that was a good thing or a bad thing is something you'd soon find out. She was what was known as a "Mommy's girl." Her father, Jude Castañeda was never around at the time of her birth so naturally it was just Katherine and Eurydice throughout most of her childhood. Eurydice's mother; Katherine, was estranged from her family.
See, the Mrosko's come from a long-line of spirituality. Katherine's mother Eleanor was an acclaimed psychic, a pagan witch. She had birthed mostly boys, apart from Katherine, her only daughter. She was so grateful for her, she had prayed every day and night just to have her, and finally, she was born. Katherine was babied for most of her life, she was surrounded and protected by her brothers all the time, due to being the youngest. Her brothers included Damon, Adonis, Perseus, and Ajax. It had been just the four of them for a long time, Ajax being the youngest, was constantly picked on and bullied, so much so that he'd start having nightmares, but Eleanor was always too busy to scold the boys.
The boys eventually stopped when Katherine was born, in fact the boys had become kind. This was because Katherine was like an angel to them, perfect in every way. But this did not only set their sister back, it ruined her. She couldn't do anything for herself, she was becoming stuck-up, spoiled, and selfish.
As time passed and Katherine was entering her pre-teens, Damon had moved out to start college, Ajax was entering high school and Adonis and Perseus just had one year left of high school themselves. Now, Ajax's nightmares never stopped, in fact, they got worse overtime.
Now in high school he was constantly bullied for making up stories but in reality, they were just the truth for Ajax. Katherine was popular, but in the worst way possible, she was known for being the casual dumb blonde. She was a stereotype, but she had been sheltered for so long she never knew they were bullying her. And to make matters worse, Eleanor wasn't allowing her a proper childhood either, she would constantly make her study, urging her to balance school life with spiritual practices. There wasn't a day where Katherine wasn't helping her mom do tarot readings, purification rituals, anything to make a dime. Eleanor had become so obsessed with overcharging the tourists that visited New Orleans that she had forgotten the importance of her children's childhoods.
But this was the way for all of them, Damon was lucky enough to grow up with a mother, long enough to pass everything he knew down the line until Katherine. But, despite Damon's efforts, he up and left, no one could get in contact with him and Katherine would email him everyday to tell him about her friends, her day, her progress. Ajax was too busy with his nightmares, something no one would pay attention to but Adonis and Perseus. Katherine was too self-centered to even look in his direction. For a while it felt like Katherine was just an overreactive pet they had to take care of for the time being, one they hadn't even bothered to train.
But there were some things Katherine didn't have problems with and one of those things was dating. She fell in love with a dashing young man named Jude Castañeda. He was a star of the football team. Good grades, amazing hair and a beautiful face. He was perfect.

He was the eldest of three sisters and one younger brother. Jude knew what he wanted from a young age. He wanted to start a family. Get a good job as a football coach, maybe even a doctor and continue the Castañeda legacy. The two were inseparable; their love was intangible. Jude made Katherine perfect. Together, they were headstrong, brave, and beautiful. As time passed, the kids grew up. Katherine didn’t. In fact, she wasn’t sure what she wanted to do after college. She dropped out before she could even begin. Meanwhile, Jude was already on a football scholarship. Now 21 years old and in school Jude has a whole life ahead of him and Katherine 20.
