I first joined Roleplay Hub to play during the last moments of FantasyRP and left when that server was shut down.
In early 2024, I finally decided to revisit the server and give SchoolRP a shot. Ever since then, I believe that I've been an avid member of the community, having found close friends and formed social groups like the the Hattori family and Parabellum! However, my activity as of recent has gone down since I've had to take breaks due to the state of my country. Now that I've found quite a bit of free time for the next six months, I'm more than ready to step back into roleplaying in Karakura!

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?
- My biggest motivation would be to find friends and just stick with a good group for a while -
I took a long hiatus of about 6 months from the server and I'd love to get into a faction to just really celebrate my reunion with the server! Not to mention how I'm interested in playing a new character with brand new storylines, roleplay, and all that fun stuff which I'm confident that I can find in the reporter faction! Especially how you have to interview people and really connect with and understand the community as a whole to make your reports.

I'm someone who's into world news and in an age like this, reliable news sources and information are more than essential in society! Journalists literally real life heroes who aren't appreciated enough!
Regardless, I remain clueless on how journalism is conducted behind the scenes. I know that they go into dangerous places and whatnot, but it's the experience that I craveee. What it'd feel like to be in their shoes, to go around interviewing people with bravery. And I think even a simple town like Karakura have a lot to offer! So yes, I aim to immerse myself heh.

Back when I was young, we were taught Photoshop in our Computer classes and I've been fascinated by graphic design ever since! I'd like to label myself as an artistic person, or at least desire to be, and since I don't have the ability to properly draww, doing graphics are an art of it's own! To be fair, my young self wasn't cooking anything crazy, honestly just making cats with shapes. Anyways, this faction gives me an entry to start working on this skill of mine that I've been wanting to improve on!

I consider my relationship with writing to be more intimate than most.
Since English is a second language for me, I've put more effort into the subject, even being enrolled in a private tuition to do so earlier in life! Back then, I wasn't all that enamored by writing at all. However, my interest grew along with my age overtime, eventually seeing the beauty that could be expressed through words. At this point, I was more familiar with the English language even more than my mother language due to my exposure to the internet. Yes, I was kind of an iPad kid okay...
In my current state of life, I've found writing to be the only hobby apart from music that can calm me down with ease.
Although I have yet to properly explore literature, I have written a lot of fictional works in my spare time. Studying how other manage their own project and how stories are told. Narrative and descriptive writing quickly became my strong suits. Yet I find myself unfamiliar with journalism, which was visible when I planned to take an English major and chose not to.
It was a bit naive of me but I thought I'd be able to do journalism with how involved with writing I've been.
Regardless, writing is one of the paths in life that I'd have chosen if not for my interest on other topics. And it is still something I consider getting into in the far future. Like I said, journalism really inspires me and hopefully I can gain experience from writing articles in this niche roleplay server.

Why should we accept you over others?
I believe that I am quite more experienced than most applicants; at least in my own standards to be humble. I say this not only because of how long involved I've been with this server but also the rapid improvement in how I write - especially after I joined this server. The amount of time spent can not only be expressed in my familiarity with the town but the character that I'm applying with. I am not bringing just any random new character into this faction but one that I've played since the start of my journey on this server. One that had been shelved due to the lack of an adult tag since characters that are related to her age up overtime. I'm more than confident about my ability to reinvigorate any stale storyline with what my character has been through, strengthened only with my deep understanding of the character and her relation with the town.
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
Absolutely. I aim to deliver the truth and only the truth without any biases or unnecessary censorship that'd negatively frame a topic.
My role as a reporter is to lay out the information, not to influence people on what to believe in.
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?
Definitely for at least the next 8 months before my college begins. My schedule for the upcoming months have never been more flexible, especially with summer over the horizons.
I'm already aware of how desk work is like from being a Governor and I'm not at all worried about quota with how I plan to do articles!

A reporter is someone who is always curious and on the hunt for a scoop. Specifically for me, I'm someone who likes to set goals, thus there will always be two type of bucket list. One for a big project/article that would span a few months to produce. And another smaller bucket list for what I aim to report for each month. I envision myself going around town, striking up conversations, talking with people, and maybe even moving to DMs if need be for information such as old photos relating to the article. There might even be time where I work with people such as independent photographers and ICly have connections who can relay certain news back to me.

The very same position that would assist me in getting a position as a Governor here in Karakura. I'd rather not speak about the reason behind my departure from that line of work if I am not required to do so."
Two times her cold, metallic prosthetic finger tapped against the table in front. A habit of hers to regain control, which in this case was her own focus.
"I have been away from this town for a few years. In the meantime, I've been working as a freelance journalist in the capital city of Tokyo. Albeit to mediocre success.

A bundle of files that she'd been holding close to her chest had now been set down on the table. Slowly, she pushed the folder towards the interviewee with two of her left fingers.
"My certificates. The Masters in Political Science and Bachelors in Sociology seems insignificant for this job. So I've went ahead to take up on a Diploma in Journalism during my time in Tokyo."

Silence filled the room for what seemed like forever. The Hattori's gaze down low, her eyes an enigma as they blankly stare down at the table. For a question so simple, it troubled the once confident woman who now seemed panicked. Still no words were spoken, but the Hattori had risen her head up, slightly embarrassed.
"Ah, I have grown much throughout the years and had little time to reflect. My apologies. Although I have core traits that may never fade no matter the age. The most prominent being the passion behind the things that I do. Whether that be a hobby or work. I'm not one to simply stay silent and let the tides go in the wrong direction. My own subjective belief of what 'wrong' is at least. One of the significant changes I’ve noticed is how composed I’ve turned out to be, almost a contrast to how brash I was before. I suppose that is the result of my daughter, the most precious thing in my life. Alas, I am a deeply caring and compassionate person despite my cold exterior. Please do not be misled as many tend to do so about me."

"Oh. I frankly cannot choose a singular topic. But I suppose that I'm forced to do so. In which case, it is about the local music industry; entertainment as a larger topic. A vastly different type of report I used to do in Tokyo. And one that I'm interested in letting to public be aware, for the sake of my daughter's interests as well."
The faintest shade of pink spread across her cheeks as she waved her hand, dismissing what she had just said.
"Anyways. I'm not the type of person to be in my comfort zone. I enjoy pushing myself, it is the passion in me that drives me to do so. So I aim not to report on major events for other reporters can choose to do so. My focus is on topics that are niche and underappreciated. Hopefully that won't pose a problem in hiring me."

"A proper introduction for my return to this.. wonderfully wretched town. As a reporter, it gives me a chance to discover what has changed during my absence. My own way of providing back to Karakura without being too involved as a Governor would be. But most importantly, a good wage. I need to spoil my daughter after all."
The whirlwind of complex thoughts and emotions were replaced by a soft laugh when she mentioned her daughter. Finally turning back to look at the interviewee with renewed conviction.

As for who the Komaeda are, we consider ourselves a prestigious family that is responsible for providing the fabrics necessary for clothing all throughout Japan to be made. The industry would crumble without us."
[ RIYUKI ] ➤ "That is a rather bold proclamation, you must be very proud of what you do, I admire that. Speaking of your role as regent, what do you specifically do for the family?"
For a moment, the only sound that could be heard was the tick of a grandfather clock.

While our main business is in the fashion world, there are branches that... focuses on other aspects of life. I simply handle internal management and mediate any problems in the family if need be."

[ SENJU ] ➤ "You can say that it's a learning experience. I'd rather not elaborate further into the topic of how I'm in this position. Private family matters. But I'm more than open to discuss this over tea, as long as it's kept out of publication."

[ SENJU ] ➤ "I appreciate the kind words. I am Senju Komaeda, eldest child of the patriarch and the current regent of the family. As for who the Komaeda are, we consider ourselves a prestigious family that is responsible for providing the fabrics necessary for clothing all throughout Japan to be made. The industry would crumble without us."
[ RIYUKI ] ➤ "That is a rather bold proclamation, you must be very proud of what you do, I admire that. Speaking of your role as regent, what do you specifically do for the family?"
For a moment, the only sound that could be heard was the tick of a grandfather clock.
[ SENJU ] ➤ "Mhm. The Komaeda family consists of multiple branches, each with their own respective head. While our main business is in the fashion world, there are branches that... focuses on other aspects of life. I simply handle internal management and mediate any problems in the family if need be."
[ RIYUKI ] ➤ "Oh my, that is impressive. Especially for someone at such a young age. I certainly cannot imagine myself doing such a feat when I was your age, ahaha. How did you come into this position? If you don't mind me asking."
[ SENJU ] ➤ "You can say that it's a learning experience. I'd rather not elaborate further into the topic of how I'm in this position. Private family matters. But I'm more than open to discuss this over tea, as long as it's kept out of publication."
[ RIYUKI ] ➤ "My apologies. Let's dial back to what you mentioned about the different branches. Are there any details you'd like to share about what they do exactly? Perhaps how they affect the main business or maybe even collaborations between businesses?"
Quiet scribbles accompanied the ever present tick of the clock. Only to then be interrupted by a giggle from Senju.
[ SENJU ] ➤ "Great question, not many inquire me of the other branches. And while they have their own complexities, I still care for them - to an extent. Ahaha. Anyways, yes, one of the branch are full of entertainers. From actors to idols to models, this strongly ties with the central family venture in tailoring and we have indeed collaborated in private. Although there are others whose business has zero compability with fashion."
[ RIYUKI ] ➤ "The entire Komaeda family sure does sound convuluted. Almost like a drama series, hm? Would you agree with that sentiment? Or do you feel as though a comparison like that is rather shallow to be made?
[ SENJU ] ➤ "I understand the reason behind making such a statement. Still, you are correct, I dislike these kinds of sayings which are rather humorous. More so, I find them almost mocking, in a way. Yet I could not care less to address those types of comments."
[ RIYUKI ] ➤ "Ahh, I respect how much honor you have for your family..."
A strange pause, someone probably forgot to cut this empty space out.
[ RIYUKI ] ➤ "While we're on the topic of family collabarations and such. I apologize in advance but I have to ask, how are things in the family with... the disappearance of Kome Komaeda? The patriarch. Please, don't feel pressured to answer."
