[Grade-12] Maikeru Kokushibyo

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
Well I've been roleplaying for a super long time now, mainly on minecraft when I was younger though I also have experience on other types of text roleplay servers. However, because of this I've learned to stay in character and talk to people around me and make scenarios fun and real! I really try to take roleplaying seriously but at the same time fun for everyone involved.

What is your motivation for applying?
The reason why I applied for the role of Doctor is because I consider it one of the most interesting and vital jobs in our server. I love to help people, specifically during urgent situations, so I like jobs that include a level of responsibility. I also think that doing something a bit new to me like being a doctor would help me improve my skills and maybe teach me something new while I'm at it!

Which role are you applying for?
I'm applying for the role of Doctor.

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
From what I'm aware of, the Hospital Faction is divided into three main departments. The first one being the Emergency Department, where the Paramedics are responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing immediate medical care and providing transport to those in need. They are often the first professionals to arrive to a scene, making their role essential in ensuring patients receive timely care. The second is the Doctor Department, where Doctors diagnose patients, provide treatment, and perform medical procedures when necessary but also to ensure patients receive the appropriate care through their recovery Doctors are responsible for assessing injuries and illnesses, creating treatment plans for them, and working closely with other medical staff to make sure patients receive the best possible care. They also play an important role in maintaining realistic and engaging roleplay through patient interactions. The third is the Psychiatrist Department, where Psychiatrists help patients with their mental health by providing evaluations, counseling, and treatment for psychological conditions. They are meant to support people dealing with mental health-related roleplay, helping create a more in depth and immersive experience by focusing on the emotional and psychological well being of patients.
Each department has its own important responsibilities, and each work together to provide complete medical care to the towns people of Karakura! Whether it's a paramedic bringing in an injured patient, a doctor providing medical treatment, or even a psychiatrist helping with their mental well being, every role is just as important and understanding how these departments work together is important for creating realistic and enjoyable medical roleplay.

In-Character (IC) Section
SECTION 1: PERSONAL DETAILS

(I'm answering these IC questions in an interview like manner just to add some roleplay examples!)
Character’s Full Name:

*Would stand out immediately, being dressed in a brand new crisp suit that complimented his composed demeanor. A gleaming smile settled across his face as he extended his hand towards the interviewer, obviously ready to begin the conversation.

"My full legal name is Maikeru Kokushibyo, It's nice meeting you."

Character’s Gender and Pronouns:
*
Would keep direct eye contact with the interviewer, his voice steady and confident as he spoke with clear articulation and a professional demeanor.
"I'm a male, my pronouns are He/Him."

Character’s Age (if accepted):
25

Character’s Academic Background:
*
Nodded his head for a short moment breaking eye contact, showing he understood the question before shifting his gaze back in the interviewers direction again and speaking.
"Well I went to school at Karakura Highschool for 4 years, then I earned my medical degree after 6 years of rigorous study and hands on clinical training in emergency and internal medicine. After I completed my licensing examinations, I qualified as a physician so I chose to dedicate my career to providing professional, compassionate care to the people of Karakura!"

Character’s Nationality:
*Would keep his fingers in an interlocked position, maintaining a focused and determined expression as he answered with hesitation.

"I was born and raised in Karakura by both of my Japanese parents!"

Character’s Marital Status:
*Would give a small nod showing he understood the question, briefly scratching the back of his head as he considered the question before answering with a calm, composed tone.

"I am single, and I plan to keep it that way to focus on my career path."

Character’s Religious Denomination:
*Would appear momentarily taken aback by the unexpected question, lifting his eyebrows ever so slightly as he paused to gather his thoughts. After a brief moment of surprise, he would regain his composed demeanor, meeting the interviewer's gaze once more before preparing to answer the question with the same calm confidence he had maintained throughout the interview.

"Well I wouldn't classify myself under any Denomination really, I don't go to church nor to I necessarily see myself as the religious type though I do think theres a god up there somewhere!"

Character’s Spoken Languages:
* Would slightly adjust his seating, as a relaxed expression settled across his face he would begin to answer the question. His response would come naturally, speaking about his ability to communicate in Japanese while acknowledging his desire to expand his linguistic skills in the future.
"I currently only speak Japanese, though I plan on becoming Bilingual and learning a more common language at some point just to help."

Character Backstory (Optional):
*Would pause for a moment, his expression very clearly softening as he reflected on the experiences that put him where he is today. His gaze would briefly drift away from the interviewer, as though he was replaying memories in his head before returning with a composed and thoughtful look. Sitting a bit straighter, he would fold his hands together and take a measured deep breath, speaking with sincerity and quiet confidence as he began to recount the story of his past.
"If you want the short version of it... I grew up in Karakura, but most of my high school years were spent living alone in a small apartments as my parents wanted me to focus on my studies, thus they were rarely around. Because of this, I learned pretty quickly how to take care of myself and stay disciplined. I didn't have much guidance, but I stayed focused on my education because I knew I wanted to build a better future for me and my family than what my family gave to me. After graduating, I enrolled in Med school dedicating myself to studying emergency and internal medicine. The workload was demanding, but I ended up pushing myself through years of lectures, clinical placements, and licensing examinations so I could finally qualify as a physician. Since then.. my main goal has been to use everything I've learned to help people and become a doctor."

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

*Would immediately brighten at the mention of this specific question, a genuine look of interest settling across his face. His posture would become slightly more engaged, and a faint smile would form as though he had been waiting for this question to be asked. It was clear from his expression that Maikeru is deeply passionate to speak on this subject, one he could easily spend hours discussing. After a short moment to collect his thoughts, he would look back at the interviewer with focused enthusiasm, ready to explain both his chosen medical specialty and the reasons that inspired him.
"Well, I'd like to say I specialize in Orthopedic Surgery, focusing on the treatment and recovery of broken bones or joint injuries. My interest in this field came from his desire to help people regain their mobility and return to their normal lives after serious injuries, as I had a grand mother who really struggled with these issues when I was a kid... Because of that It somewhat gives me a since of relief helping others with this issue. I was fascinated by the body's ability to repair itself and dedicated my studies to learning how fractures heal, how bones can be properly aligned, and how patients can recover through proper treatment and rehabilitation. For me, orthopedics was more than just repairing broken bones, its about giving people the ability to stand, move, and continue their lives after difficult moments that I believe we all have. This dedication led me to pursue advanced training in facture care, surgical procedures, and also patient recovery."

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
"Yes I do indeed have experience in medical environments. During my time in med school, I completed several shifts where I worked alongside experienced physicians and medical staff. These shifts allowed me to gain hands on experience with patient assessments, diagnosing injuries, assisting with treatments, and learning proper medical procedures. As part of my orthopedic training, I spent a large amount of time studying fractures, bone structure, and the recovery process. Because of that study, I ended up helping a significant amount of patients where I learnt how to give examinations, learnt how to properly stabilize injuries, observed surgical procedures, among many others things."

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

"How I look? I suppose I'd describe myself as someone who prefers to maintain a professional and composed look. I tend to dress formally, with some sort of suit as I believe presentation is a super important aspect of life as well as in the medical environment. My appearance reflects the way I approach my work though, with discipline, responsibility, and attention to detail like no one other. One of the more noticeable things about me would probably be my red and pink hair which tends to stand out compared to otherwise my formal appearance.. I believe it gives me a sense of individuality while still allowing me to maintain a professional image! I imagine some people may perceive me as quiet, serious, or perhaps a little intimidating at first due to my very reserved nature. However, I believe that after speaking with me, they would see someone who is patient, dependable, and genuinely committed to helping others. I don't believe a doctor should only be judged by their appearance, but by the care and dedication they show towards their practice and patients."

How does your character act around the hospital?
"When I'm at my place of work, I try to carry myself in a way that reflects the responsibility of being a doctor! I remain calm, focused, and professional especially during stressful situations where patients or staff may need someone reliable to depend on in any situation. I believe that a doctor's attitude can have a major impact on both their patients and their coworkers, so I always try to be respectful and approachable. I tend to spend most of my time assisting patients, reviewing their conditions, and ensuring they understand their treatment as well as the recovery process. I also really value teamwork, so I make an effort to communicate clearly with paramedics, other doctors, and psychiatrists to ensure everyone is working toward the same goal. While I can be quiet and reserved sometimes, I am not someone who avoids responsibility. If a situation requires my attention, I will step forward and do what is necessary. To me, the hospital is not only a workplace; it is supposed to be a safe place where people can come during some of their most difficult moments, and I believe every patient deserves patience, professionalism, and genuine care."

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
*Adjusts his posture a bit, settling into a more comfortable position he prepared to answer. A relaxed expression on his face throughout almost the entire interview, though his gaze and attentive demeanor would show the seriousness behind his response. He would begin to speak thoughtfully to the interviewer.
"I would like to think I am capable of working well with both staff, and independently though I believe a hospital environment is built around cooperation in a whole. Throughout my education and medical training, I often had to rely on my own discipline and judgement, especially when studying difficult subjects and developing my skills as a physician. Though, being able to work independently has also allowed me to remain focused and confident in my decisions. However, medicine is not something one person is able to handle alone. A hospital requires communication and teamwork between other doctors, paramedics, psychiatrists, and other staff to provide the best care for patients in need. I value the knowledge and experience that others bring so I'll always be willing to listen, learn, and assist others when needed! I would like to describe myself as someone who can take responsibility when working alone, but I believe I perform at my best while surrounded by coworkers that share the same goal, providing the best possible care to our patients.
