Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
I believe Teachers are so important to SchoolRP because they are what makes the school feel like a school. The entire server revolves around roleplaying in a school, and what would that be without teachers?! Although students are also a huge part of the server, there needs to be staff members like teachers to encourage interaction and give students something meaningful or entertaining to participate in. Teachers aren't just meant to stand in a classroom and teach lessons, but build relationships with students, help develop characters and create situations that people actually enjoy roleplaying in. They can also have a huge impact on the atmosphere of the server too. A good teacher can make their class entertaining and give quieter players an opportunity to be more involved. Overall, I think that teachers are important because they help bring the school to life. Without them, you could still have students and a school but it would be much harder to replicate the feeling of an actual school. Teachers give students the opportunity to interact, develop their characters and create memories, which truly makes SRP come to life!
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes
What is your motivation for becoming a Teacher?: My main motivation for becoming a teacher is my enjoyment of creating roleplay and being able to contribute to other players' experiences on the server. I really enjoy interacting with others and creating situations that are genuinely enjoyable, and I think being a teacher would give me plenty of opportunities to do that. I used to be a professor on my main account years ago and since then, the school system truly has been updated, like the addition of homework and customizable boards in the room. Seeing these changes definitely sparked some motivation for me as well. Additionally, I want to be someone who can make students look forward to coming to their class and enjoy roleplaying, rather than it being something they just sit through. Some of the best roleplay can come from small, everyday interactions and being a teacher gives you that opportunity everyday. Another thing that motivates me is being able to encourage other players. A lot of people can be shy to insert themselves into a scene, so I try to involve everyone instead of leaving them out. Overall, I'd love to become a teacher because I think I'd really enjoy the role while also helping create memorable experiences for others on the server.

What's your character's full name?: Chie Ishida
What is your character's age?: 27
What is your preferred subject to teach?: Science (Chemistry)
Describe your character:
Chie Ishida is a twenty seven year old Japanese woman who is very laid back and carries herself with a sense of elegance. She has wavy brown-orange hair that she keeps well maintained, along with striking green eyes. Her appearance reflects her personality pretty well, as she prefers to dress in a more traditional and classy style rather than anything overly modern or flashy. She takes pride in looking presentable, but not drawing attention to herself.
Personality wise, she is very calm, patient and easygoing. She isn't someone who gets worked up easily and typically approaches situations a lot nicer than she should be. Despite being laid back, she is very set in her traditional ways and has a strong opinion on the importance of manners, etiquette and respect. Her relaxed personality and traditional lifestyle is what keeps her unique and separated from the majority. She isn't strict, though, despite having the strong beliefs that she does. She is totally happy to joke around, have interesting conversations and enjoy herself, but she still maintains grace and elegance.
As for Chie's future, she hopes to keep working in the educator field and become someone her students can look up to. Due to her humbleness, instead of pursuing a higher position, she cares more about being satisfied with herself and leaving a positive impression on her students and the people around her. As long as her students are thriving, so is she.
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
If a student in class were struggling to understand the content, Chie would notice right away, regardless if the student made it known with their words. If the student vocally expressed their struggle, Chie would calmly approach their desk to have a private conversation about the content. First, she'd assure the student it is okay to struggle. Then she would ask exactly what the student did not understand. From there, she would re-explain the content in an oversimplified way. Due to how forbearing she is, she will happily sit with the student and help to the best of her ability until they understood the content. However, if the student did NOT vocally express their struggle but she can tell they are having a bit of a hard time, it is likely for her to pull them aside for private help after class to avoid any embarrassment.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Chie does not falter when it comes to her valuing the importance of manners and respect, and she can become very serious when this is disrespected. First, Chie would observe the student and likely let it go the first couple times with a lenient verbal warning. If the behavior continued, Chie's voice would change to a more stern tone, which is not heard often. She would request to talk to the student outside of the classroom, and express the importance of being respectful in the classroom. If the student was truly sorry, she would warmly accept their apology and assure them they are forgiven and return to the classroom. If the student showed little to no remorse, she may remove them for the rest of class and contact SLT if needed.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
1. Reaction Prediction
Chie would split students into teams and give each group a series of hypothetical chemical reactions. Before Chie reveals the outcome, the teams must predict what will happen and explain their reasoning. Students must reveal if they believe there will be a temperature change, color change, or if a reaction will occur.
2. What Substance is THAT?!
Chie would split students into even groups of 2 or 4. She would give each group an unknown substance and have them identify them by certain tests. Students could observe the color, texture, test if the substance is acidic or not based on pH, and try to determine their substance by these results!
