Describe your activity on SchoolRP:
I have been playing SRP since late 2021, and I have grown to love the server and have devoted a lot of time to the server as well. I play around 10-30 hours a week on the server. I have been actively involved consistently. . I have been fairly active with SRP being a teacher (On my ALT account _Shed) for about 9 months, as well as getting accepted as a Lawyer on the server. I love trying new things so I’m getting around to developing better skills at combat role-play on my alternative account while also enriching my own character personalities. I have about 10 characters across three accounts, all with different personalities and backstories unique to them

Describe your roleplay experience with SchoolRP and other roleplay networks in general:
I have been roleplaying via Minecraft for around 10 years of my life, however, It has always been off and on. It was not until I joined SRP that I really got into roleplay consistently. I would consider myself an experienced roleplayer and I try to do everything that I can to support the server while being as active as possible. Throughout my time at SRP I have enjoyed playing a part in a bigger role, such as the teacher role that I had previously.

What are your current roles on SchoolRP:
Currently, my roles on SRP include a Grade-12 student, a college student working on their Bachelor's degree, as well as my adult character.

What is the subject you want to teach?:
General Biology. I choose this subject because I am currently enrolled in college as a junior and my major is Biology, so I know the most about the subject and would be able to accurately teach on SRP with engaging topics for college students. Additionally teaching on SRP also helps me study my notes a bit in real life, as I usually take what I learn on a daily basis and recite them to students on SRP.

TRIVIA SECTION

What is your motivation for becoming a professor?:

My motivation for becoming a professor is to enrich the roleplaying experience for others. A few months ago I became a college student for the first time on SRP after a year of playing and this time is around when I retired from teaching, however, I have missed roleplaying as a faculty, and I wish to return to this. I have noticed that there are often times when school is in session however no professors are on so they are unable to attend classes, I would like to try to be a part of the faculty team again to better enrich the roleplaying experience not only for myself but other college students who worked so hard to get into college on the server as well.

Work out two interactive classes you will host if accepted:
  1. Jacques would usually host his classes to be as interactive as possible, as lectures can easily get boring for students who need hands-on learning. For this reason, I have designed several ‘Lab’ classes for students to detail roleplay usage of microscopes, to understand the microcellular biology of animal and plant cells. Additionally, I would have students detail the parts of a microscope while projecting an image on the screen of the microscope parts they need to know in order to use it effectively. I would pass around different slides such as human blood smear, dicot roots, and monocot leaves so that students would be able to differentiate between monocots and dicots in plants as well as the difference between red and white blood cells, and overall understand the differences between plants and animal cells. I have done classes like this in the past and the ‘Lab’ type classes are by far one of my most popular classes students have attended, so I wish to continue this tradition.
  1. Another idea for class participation is Kahoot! Not only does Kahoot test their knowledge it also allows for a competitive feel of the class and integrates real-world play into the server. For courses like this I will usually allow students to be on their phones in order to actually play the game, and whoever gets on the leaderboard is rewarded, providing an incentive to win the game. Usually, when I host classes that are oriented around a Kahoot match, the previous class I will lecture so students can learn about what is going to be tested on Kahoot, also adding incentive for students to attend multiple of my classes in a day.

Work out a field trip (meaning a class outside school grounds) you will host if accepted:
A great place to take the students outside would be the shrine, not only is the shrine home to many types of plants that could be useful for studying plant biology, additionally, the shrine has major rock formations surrounding it in the mountains which would also be a good area to teach students about basic geology, and why it's important to understand rock formation and how the mountains formed in the first place. Biology is naturally everywhere around us, so field trips off campus could really occur anywhere, but the Shrine would be the best place to go because of its diversity and the preservation of nature. This would be the easiest location to teach students about ecosystems and the importance of food webs and the native flora and fauna of Karakura.

SCENARIO SECTION

Your character would encounter a group of college jocks surrounding a bobcat jock, what would your character do?

Jacques would approach the group of students, and immediately ask the students what is going on. Upon further inspection, if there was any sort of bullying going on, the group of Spartans would be given detention based on the severity of their actions. Furthermore, Jacques would approach the bobcat, offering him counsel on the situation, doing his best to be as comforting as possible, and ask if there was anything else he could do to ensure the student is doing alright.

Your character would be supervising detention, and one of the students constantly disturbs by asking stupid questions, what would your character do?
Jacques would not tolerate a student in detention being reckless and disturbing other students. The entire point of detention is for the student to repent for their actions during school hours. Not only would a disruptive student be distracting other students in detention, but also would be wasting the time of other faculty. He would approach the student and remind them that there is no talking while in detention, giving them another chance to complete the detention assignment. If the student continues to be disruptive I would contact an SLT in order to proceed with further punishment for the student.

Your character would be hosting a class, and a group of cheerleaders keeps on playing songs on the phone and calling out other students in the class, what would your character do?
Jacques has a no-phones-in-class policy that he has carried out throughout his career as a teacher in his lifetime. He would approach the cheerleaders, reminding them that they should not be on their phones in class, and tell them that they are held to a higher standard, as they represent the school through their work as cheerleaders, and should take more respect in upholding their position. If they continue to cause trouble, he would issue them detention and ensure that their phones were placed on the professor's desk until the end of class time.

Your character would be walking on the school perimeter and encounter a fight between a couple of students, your character tried to break it up but it didn't help, what would your character do?
If Jacques is unable to break up a school fight on his own, he would radio for any other faculty to come to help him immediately, or if an SLT was available he would radio them for assistance. Jacques would do his best to break up the fight, separating the students by coming in between them to prevent any further action from either student. Furthermore for some reason, if there were no available staff to assist Jacques, he would quickly ask for any nearby students to help him break up the fight depending on the severity of it. In the aftermath, the injured students could be sent to the nurses and the ones involved can be administered detention, or further action if necessary.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. What do they look like? What makes them unique and different? What is their outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is their personality like? What is their plan for the future?


Appearance: Jacques is a tall, and slender man, standing at nearly 6’2, seeming to have a corrected and straightened posture. His hair is a light shade of brown and was always kept clean. With his perfect teeth, slight bags under his eyes, and a consistent smile on his face, he oozed confidence and joy to others. He would have a heavy french accent which was hard to ignore, along with a hoarse-sounding voice. He dresses formally, in a brown suit, which is suitable for teaching or hosting formal events.

Personality: Jacques is extremely charismatic and knows how to enter a room and read it. His past life has given him the ability to completely shift the mood of a room. He walks with confidence in his steps, hoping not only to impress those around him but ensure that he is doing so in style. Although Jacques is the youngest of his siblings, he is definitely not the least, he has an attitude when it comes to preserving his daughter from the evils that plague the world, like a true father, he would do anything for her and the rest of his family.

Outlook: In terms of academics, Jacques has always been patient with his students, and willing to help others. He understands what it feels like to be left in the dust and unappreciated with no help but your own, and Jacques would never want one of his students to feel isolated and dejected, so he supports the mental health of his students above all. Jaques's personality towards other faculty would always be professional and strictly about work. He tends to close himself off from his coworkers, but given time he will be able to warm up to them. Jacques plans to retire in Karakura after fulfilling a long and satisfying career as a professor, to watch his children grow up and see what they become as well. Jacques, though aged, still can learn to appreciate the thoughtfulness and inquiry of young people, which makes him an easy person to talk to and open up to, trying to be as understanding as possible for his students, will foster a relationship between them that is satisfying and rewarding.

Describe how your character ended up becoming a teacher and their previous life. It is optional to include earlier life but recommended.
Growing up in France, Jacques felt a lot of pressure from his family to do well in school. Though out of his siblings he seemed to be the weakest link. Although they were older, they would go out to become famous doctors and entrepreneurs to provide well for their families. Jacques attended some of the highest-class schools in France while he was young, though as soon as he turned 18 he split from his family, not being able to withstand the constant pressure from his father. It was in Italy that he felt he could freely explore his educational options. Initially, Jacques set out to become a doctor, like his brother. However due to his financial issue, he had to rely on getting scholarships through the University of Verona in order to even maintain his position at the school, therefore medical school was off the table for him. He pursued biology still though, wanting to make the most out of it, he would study for several years in Italy, building his family and finally achieving his Ph.D. in Biology. Soon after he would obtain certification to teach in Italy. Jacques, although never fulfilled his true dream of becoming a doctor still wanted to help students and shape people into successful images of themselves, he knew he could accomplish this by enrolling as an educator. For 3 years he taught in Italy before deciding to move to Karakura to become a professor there.
