Yes I do! tonsils. (with the period at the end)

How old are you? (Optional):
18

What is your time zone?:
EST, USA

Describe your activity on the server:
On a ranking scale, I’d list my activity as 8/10
I try to get on the server as often as I am able, almost all of my free time, but I still have days where I am busy and unfortunately unavailable. I’ve been a fairly active player on the server since joining sometime around the middle of 2022 or 2023.
1759960400567.png

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:
Of course. If I have any reason to be inactive, I will fill out an inactivity log accordingly.

School Employee Role you are applying for?:
Caretaker!

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
Caretakers, as the name suggests, take care of many important things around the school. You can’t just chalk them up to being like a janitor, because they truthfully have much more importance than that of just sweeping the halls.

Helping other faculty. This is one of the main jobs of a Caretaker, even over cleaning. They provide a backbone for the structure of the school, assisting where needed to help with keeping the school system and organization running smooth. When a fight breaks out, you’ll find a Caretaker at the scene as soon as they can make it there, with their trusty radio in one hand and a stack of detention slips in the other. When not actively breaking up fights, caretakers patrol around the school, interacting with the other faculty and students alike, to help maintain a peaceful, and positive atmosphere in the school grounds! And yes, when the job needs done, you’ll still find a Caretaker cleaning up after the kiddos. Caretakers are also in charge of running the school buses, picking up students from the various stops and safely transporting them to the school grounds.

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
As embarrassing as it may be to admit, I’ve been roleplaying for a long period of my life. I always saw roleplay as an outlet for my real life struggles, and I have vivid memories of my childhood of coming home from a long school day to roleplay on various Roblox games. I had a friend group a few years back tell me about SRP, and upon joining the server I instantly fell in love. I learned many things about roleplay I hadn’t known prior, and used that new knowledge to better my skills as a roleplayer as a whole. In the present day, I continue to actively play SchoolRP in my free time, constantly working on my roleplaying skills and improving my writing capabilities.

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
Recently, I’ve been trying to get more active on the SchoolRP server. One of the first things I thought would help with this was applying to one of the many factions the server had to offer. At the time, from going through the list of factions actively accepting applications, I noticed the News Faction, and decided to test my luck and apply. When I was actually accepted, I found I actually really enjoyed it. This had me wondering what the other factions were like, and I decided on checking out the School Faculty! I spend a large portion of the IC school hours running around on my student characters, and I believe becoming a part of the school faculty would give me something productive to do with that time.

Situations
During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
“[EXPLICIT LANGUAGE!!!]”

Felidae KNOWS some kid did not just call him that. He snapped his head around– hard enough to send his dark-brown hair to fly in the wind– as he locked eyes with the perpetrator. Some girl whose name was called on the intercom just a moment before. Felis frowned. “Yes, what do you need? And watch your language, would you? I don’t want to give you detention.”

The girl persists. Another insult his way, and he turned to fully face her. Narrowing his eyes, and retrieving a detention slip and holding it in front of her. “Seriously, girl?” His hands fly to his hips, a brow raising. “Watch your language, second warning. Aren’t you already needed at the front desk, anyways?” A smirk tugged to Felis features, as the girl’s eyes widened. “Run along, now. Last warning, before I have to give you what I can guess is probably your.. 2nd detention slip?”

“Sorry Mr. Martin,” she muttered, before hurrying off.

You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
As soon as he got the call, Felis was on the scene. He quickly observed the situation in front of him before jumping in– he and one of his co-workers pulled the two students apart, bringing the scuffle to a prompt conclusion. Felidae checked the students hands for bruises, giving both their own detention slips, partly for interrupting his morning coffee.

“It is unacceptable to fight on school-grounds,” he informs, gaze shifting between the two students. They observe with silence, listening to his words. “You have your futures ahead of you, and you’d rather throw them to waste over a petty argument. I expected better from you two,” he concluded, hitting the stereotypical ‘disappointed father’ pose.

Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
Usually, Felidae is the type to appreciate a bit of fun. He can understand the appeal of those fancy restaurants with the fire and knife tricks, but that form of skillset is not necessary inside of a high school. He approached with heavy steps, throwing his hand up akin to Owen Grady with the velociraptors in Jurassic World– except, his co-worker is not a dinosaur– directing students away from the situation with the other. “Hey,” he began.

“Maybe don’t accidentally set a fire in the kitchen?”

Someone had spoken on the radio, informing the staff about a ‘performance’ one of the new chefs planned to do today. Felidae was, thankfully near the cafeteria, and managed to get there in time to stop the employee from accidentally starting a fire. His reactions are fast– not calculated, but based on instinct. He follows his gut, and when it comes down to it, can act quickly to ensure the safety of the student and staff alike.

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
Today the employee break room was blessed with a less-interruptive-than-usual entry from Felidae Martin, as he headed directly towards the faculty kitchen. A finger trailed along the surface of the counter– a force of habit instilled into the caretaker from a long practice of wiping surfaces clean. Off to the fridge did he find himself, pulling open the door and retrieving the lunch he had previously packed for himself. He trailed to one of the many tables scattered across the space, plopping down into the seat with a softened sigh. Fingers unclasp the latch to the container’s seal, as Felis began his lunch break.

He retrieved a small notepad from his pocket, glancing over his task-list he’d written for himself at the start of the day. A dreadful grumble billowed from his mouth, as he realised his next task was bathroom-related, and he prepared to deal with the worst. High school students and bathrooms are the worst mix, and even worse when you’re responsible for cleaning them. Felis stared down at his lunch– an egg salad sandwich if you were wondering– as he set aside his despair for AFTER his sandwich.

Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:

/me
welcomed himself into the classroom, letting his gaze cast across the space. Desks unwashed, chairs disorganized, Felis cracked his knuckles as he prepared to get to work. He approached the first desk, a low hum sounding from deep in his throat, brushing his trusty cloth across the surface to wipe away any germs the lengthy day of learning may have left behind. He repeats this for every desk, organizing chairs back in place and putting everything back where it belonged. All that was left untouched was the whiteboard; it had the lesson already prepared for the following day.

/me traversed the halls, threading between walking students with a single task at mind; the lunchroom. His radio was held close, prepared for any call, while he patrolled the common walkplace of students rushing between classes. He whistled, offering a passing student a friendly, “Afternoon!” while he strides. As the ever growing lunchline came into view, Felis found himself thankful his lengthy patrol ended without a single incident.

/me spun the bus keys around his finger, twirling them about in the air as he approached the vehicle. He stepped forth, walking through the door and finding himself in the seat. The key he was twirling a moment before was then inserted into the starter, twisting sharply once to begin the bus’ engine. He checked the mirrors, setting his phone up once with the day’s route, before sending out a notification for the students that would be boarding for the day.

[FELIDAE MARTIN’S FABULOUS BACKSTORY]
Childhood
Born in a now-abandoned hospital in a run-down Ohio town, on a very regular and uneventful December 12th, Felidae Martin was a gift delivered to the wrong address– unfairly named the scientific designation for a cat by two unprepared parents. Misfortune has always been poured into Felis’ mug, but perhaps that’s the very reason he always chose to test his luck; playing with chance was one of the few things he indulged in as a child, since he didn’t have any talents to aid his boredom. He never really had friends growing up– spare the neighbourhood cat Egg Salad– so instead he relied on his family. Not his parents of course, as they hardly paid attention to him. The Martin brothers– Carter, Felis’ father Charles, and Jerry– always forgot about their younger brother, Chester, but Felidae never did. Chester was the only one to pay attention to Felis, and that’s exactly how he was roped into his mess.
Studies, and the Housewarming Party
Without anything else truthfully going for the poor boy, he placed all his focus onto school. Studying hard to become a doctor, since that was his original plan. Not until the Housewarming Party– the family get-together turned into a crime scene– and having a dark secret bestowed upon him, did Felis change his plans for the future. That night changed the course of everything, not just for Felis, but for the Martin family as a whole, and with a goal of cutting free from the ties of his uncle Chester, Felidae looked for an escape. His uncle Carter moved to Tokyo sometime around 2019, and a rumour arose that Chase Martin, Carter’s son, was living on a secluded Japanese island to get away.

That’s when Felidae decided it was his time to 'get away,' too.
How to Move-on in Life: 101!
Felidae spoke mostly Spanish growing up. English was tacked on there too, and since half his family was Korean he heard a lot of that, also. Japanese was an afterthought– something Felis didn’t initially intend to find himself learning, but there he was on a plane with basic Japanese-speaking skills, and a dream. In order to establish himself in the city of Karakura, young Felidae decided that a caretaking job at the local school would do him justice. When searching positions and finding an available spot, he knew he was fit to apply.

Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
“My motivation,” he pondered. A sentimental smile filled his face, like he could sense the conclusion to the interview was drawing near.

“Well, I guess I don’t have a straightforward answer for that. We all imagine these set paths for ourselves, and yet those change and alter as time goes on. I wanted to grow up to be a doctor, but I’ve realised that wouldn’t really make me happy.” He nodded, almost like he was agreeing with his own words. “Not yet, at least. Caretaking for a school isn’t my final goal, but it’s an important one to accomplish. A stepping-stone in my efforts to figure out what it is I want to be doing later down the line. It’s one of those experiences I want, so I can appreciate the small things when I achieve greatness.”

He smiled. “Plus, I’ve always had a knack for kids. Caring for them, and being someone they can rely on. Growing up, my biggest supporters were the staff at my childhood school. I want to be that for the children of the next generations.”

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
This has never been an easy question for me to answer. I pour a lot of passion into my OCs and writing alike, and believe I could further improve my skills with this position. I love to break the norms, and bring my individuality forth into my characters and roleplay, which is something I feel makes me stand out amongst the other players, and applicants, of the server.
